  • I can't sleep at night and can't stay awake during the day?

Every night I have a very hard time falling asleep. No matter what I do, I cannot fall asleep. I find it very hard to actually fall aslmores too nearly 5-6 in the morning. During the day I can't stay awake. I have a very hard time waking up and get so tired all day to the point where it is painful.i have tried so hard to readjust my sleep schedule, but all of my attempts fail. I end up falling asleep at night and then I end up waking up about an hour later and can't sleep all night. I am missing school from this, and I seem to be getting sick constantly. Because I'm so tired all day, I end up being so cold. I really nt know what to do or how to help it. It started about 2 years ago and it has gotten worse and worse and worse. What do I do?

  • The wifi on my iPad is messing up?

For the past couple days my wifi on my iPad 2 has been messing up. It has a really low signal (1/3 bars) and loads super slow. Every once in a while it will go out. This has been going on for the past three days. When it first happened I checked the router. It's plugged in fine and has no chew marks from my puppy or anything. I unplugged it and replugged it, but that didn't work. I tried moving the router over a bit, the signal went up to 2/3 bars for a second but then stopped again. I turned the wifi on my iPad on and off and that didn't work. I turned the iPad on and off, with the wifi on and with the wifi off but that didn't work either. My dad said the wifi is working fine on his Kindle and my sister said the wifi is working fine on her iPad Mini. I went to my friend's house and her wifi, which usually works fine on my iPad, didn't work very well either. It said it had 2/3 bars but wouldn't load anything. My iPad accidently connected to her neighbor's wifi when I got there and it didn't even load right. What is going on with my iPad and how can I fix it?

  • How to get involved in Meet The Breed events at dog shows?

I have 4 dogs, two of which are purebred. The purebreds are a 1 year old Papillon and a 12 week old American Akita. Both have papers. They are not yet registered but I plan on registering them very soon. Neither are show dogs, but the Papillon does agility and obedience so far. I do not know exactly if they are up to breed standards etc since I don't show them, but both came from reputable breeders. The Papillon is spayed and has a slightly shorter and thinner coat that usual Paps. The Akita is a full coat. Is there a way I could them involved in meet the breed events? If so, how would I go about doing this?

  • My puppy has diarrhea?

I just got my American Akita puppy Saturday, he turns 8 weeks old tomorrow (technically today, since it's past 12 am). He has had his first shots and is due for an update this week. He has been doing fine until just tonight he had an accident and it was really watery. It like exploded out of him and sounded and smelled so gross...ugh. It happened again just a little bit ago. Other than that everything seems normal. He had been going to the bathroom frequently but normally, his poop had been a little runny though. He eats normally, not quite as much as he is supposed to but nothing too concerning. He does seem to drink quite a bit but my other dogs did that as puppies too. He has been playing and sleeping normally too. My other dogs all have their shots and have been to the vets in the last six months for check ups. He hasn't been anywhere with a lot of dogs, the only places he has gone other an my house is my mom's house (she only has one dog there and she has all her shots), my aunt's house (she has 3 vaccinated dogs but I didn't let him meet them yet), and I walked him into PetSmart but didn't let him on the ground and didn't let him meet any other dogs yet. And I walked him on the streets. The only other thing I can think of is his nose gets a little watery when he is sleepy. Is there anything wrong or could it be from switching to a new food so fast maybe? He switched from Diamond to Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy Food/ Blue Buffalo Grain Free Freedom Puppy Food.

  • My Internet browser won't work on my computer?

Everytime I click on the Internet explorer it will open the browser but before anything has a chance to load a pop up comes up saying Internet Explorer has stopped working and it keeps popping up over and over when I hit cancel until it finally gives me the option to close the program. I need to print something important but it's not letting me get online to do that (I'm using my iPad right now). At the bottom of the screen it says a problem with the web page has caused it to shut down but we have I'd changing the home page several times and it hasn't worked. I think my grandmother ran an antivirus on it earlier and it worked for a little bit and when I came down to use it it was shut off and when I turned it on it didn't work again. She got it to work yesterday but only for a little bit. The computer is a windows 8. It's not the Internet connection because everything else is working, how can I fix it and if I can't fix it, is there any way I can print from my iPad 2? We have an HP printer and there's a button on it that says wireless but I've never tried and have no idea if it's possible. Please help, i have no idea what else to do. When it says it's searching for the problem it never finds the problem.

  • Why does my dog constantly wipe her nose?

I have a 1 year old Papillon. When she was a puppy she would sit up on her hind legs and wave her paws. I actually managed to teach her to cover her face with her paws while sitting up when she was very young. For some reason, ever since then she will randomly sit up on her hind legs and wipe her face over and over and over again and sometimes she looks like she is trying to dig her dew claws into her gums. She still does the trick, but sometimes she will do this by herself for no reason. She goes to annual vet checks every six months and they have never said anything is abnormal about her nose or muzzle. She had her front baby teeth removed when she was younger and her teeth are crooked but her teeth and gums do not seem to look irritated or anything. Her teeth do get a lot of plack on them since her mouth is small and skinny, but I brush her teeth weekly to keep them as clean as I can. She does have bad breath regardless of brushing. My other two dogs (a Lab mix and a Cocker Spaniel) don't do this and I don't think she's ever seen another dog do this to copy them. So, why does she do this? Is it just a weird habit, is there something wrong, or does she just do it for attention?

  • Idea For Outdoor Cat Enclosure?

I'd like to possibly build something for my cats that they can go outside in and maybe my rabbit can go with them. I have two cats, one is a hug Bengal so it'd have to be strong and if I put my rabbit in it'd have to be able to keep him from digging out. At the moment I usually will take my cats outside on leashes, they won't move with harnesses on so I can't use those. I also worry when I have the, on leashes because they wear breakaway collars and they sometimes will pull and break out of them or slip out of them and then they run and we have to chase them. We have a fenced in yard for our dgs but they can easily jump the fence and since our neighborhood is not too far a walk from a highway, I'm not willing to take the risk of letting them roam. To take my rabbit outside I out the top of his pen in the grass with him inside but since it's just the top it doesn't gve him much space to stand on his hind legs. Harnesses don't fit him and I'm nervous he could slide out since he is almost like a slinky, it's hard to keep ahold of him. He can't jump my fence, but I fear he could crawl under the gate of get under the shed. I was thinking about getting him a hitch but i would like to try to find something that the cats can use as well. I'd prefer something with a covered top since there are hawks in my area that could take the smaller cat or the rabbit, plus the cats can climb. Any ideas? I would prefer something that didn't cost too much so I don't have to save up forever to buy it, I'd like them to have something soon. :)

  • I got pet hair in my cut?

My dog was pulling towards another dog and her leash was stuck on my shirt and made me fall onto the road on my knee. It ripped my jeans and there's a big like circle where the skin is ripped off. I was sleeping in shorts because it hurts so bad to wear pants and I woke up to find I had dog and cat hair like plastered all over it. I tried pulling it off but I can't. I tried wiping it off with water but that didn't help. It is getting more and more painful. Idk what to do, I don't want it to get infected. What can I do?

  • Is K9 Advantage less effective than K9 Advantix?

I know Advantage is made to be safe for dogs who live with cats but here's what I don't understand, why do they also make one that is not safe for cats? Is Advantix more effective than Advantage? If its isn't, then why do they make two flea preventions for dogs, one being not safe for cats and one being safe for them? Why don't they just make one that is for dogs and safe for cats? I don't really think its necessary to them to make the one that isn't safe for cats when they're both supposed to work the same. So is Advantix more effective than Advantage and that's why they make it too?

  • How can I get my cat to get along with my dogs?

I have a Bengal cat and he is ten years old. We used to have an American Cocker Spaniel when we got him as a kitten and he loved him. Six years ago the Cocker died and we got a Lab mix. He attacks her out of fear, he will literally jump onto her back and hold on until she is screaming and we have to rip him off. Ever since we got her he would stay in the basement to hide from her and wouldn't come upstairs unless I carried him to my room and shut the door. We also got another Cocker Spaniel three years ago. He acts like he wants to smell him but then acts aggressively out of fear again. We then got a Papillon a year ago and he tries to smell her but then jumps away. He is a huge cat and I'm afraid he could hurt the Cocker Spaniel or the Papillon. We are getting an Akita in a few weeks. Me and my dad and all the pets moved out when my parents got divorced and the Bengal will now be staying in our laundry room as his safe room since there's no basement. I'd like to try to integrate him into living normally with the dogs. We had three cats before who lived with the Bengal and they all got along with the dogs and our other cat now also gets along with the dogs. I don't want him to be afraid but I also don't want him to spend his life hiding in a basement or a laundry room. Our old dog was very laid back, while the new ones are more energetic and want to smell him or play with him. They are very good with cats though and actually won't look directly at him, knowing they could be scratched. They would leave him alone after smelling him if he didn't continue to attack them. How can I safely get them to get along without the dogs or the cat getting hurt or too scared? I'd like to be able to put a baby gate on the laundry room so he can come and go instead of having to shut the door. Any time we tried to put him with the dogs we would let him go back in the basement when he started attacking them so should i just not let him go away until he gets tired out and stops? Im not sure what to do. Also, is there any way I can safely introduce him to my rabbit, hamster, and turtle? My other cat is very nice to them. He is very good with my fish tanks but I've kept him away from my smaller pets when they are out of their cages and tanks because he is so unpredictable. One second he could be nice and the next he could be violent. I would never leave him alone with them out of their cages and tanks, but I'd like him to be respectful of them so I don't have to worry.

  • My dog got sand in her eyes and now they are closed?

Today we took my 1 year old Papillon to the beach. She was rubbing her face in the sand and in sand that had a bunch of shells in it to try to dry herself off. She wouldn't stop and when she did I realized she must have had her eyes open because there was actually sand on her eyes, more on one than the other. I tried to wipe it with a towel (I knew salt water from the ocean wouldn't work and there wasn't any normal water). It looked like I had gotten it out for the most part. Then tonight she was wiping at her eye a little and she was asleep for a little bit and woke up with crust in the corner of her eye and goop on her eye. My dad said to leave it like that and it'd work itself out, he thought if I messed with it it would get worse. She fell asleep again and a few hours later she sat up and her eye has even more crust in the corner and it's staying closed. I don't want to remove the crust and hurt her eye worse, what should I do? Should I try to open it and clean it off in the morning? Should I leave it how it is and let it work itself out so I don't damage it worse? Should I take her to a vet (we are on vacation, so our dogs' vet isn't near here)? Is she going to be ok? It worries me because one time my best friend got the tiniest bit of sand in her eye and it scratched her cornia and left her in a lot of pain for weeks, she had the same thing happen to her eyes that night. I really hope she is ok, I don't understand why she would open her eyes in the sand :(

  • What age should you neuter an Akita?

At what age is it best to neuter an Akita? We are getting a male and our breeder says to neuter him when he is almost 2 or he will have stunted growth and look weird. I also heard it can damage their hips. But I have always spayed and neutered at 6 to 8 months old to keep them from marking and becoming aggressive. With such a powerful breed I want to make sure he doesn't become aggressive or same sex aggressive. Will waiting to neuter him until he is over a year old make him aggressive? When should I do it? I'm gonna talk to the breeder but it is very important that he doesn't become aggressive from not being neutered.

  • Are Akita puppies the same color of their parents?

I know that most breeds can have puppies of different colors than the parents, but it's more likely for them to have the same or similar colors right? Well I'm waiting for these Akita pups to be born and I might get one. I wanted to get one of the brown and white ones with a black mask. The parents are red with a black muzzle and tan and white with a black mask (sorry I don't know the exact coloring I forgot lol). Is it possible for one of the pups ti be a different color or will they likely be the same color. Their parents? And is it likely that the litter will have atleast one male puppy?

  • What is the best way to feed a puppy?

I'm getting my fourth dog, an Akita puppy, in September. I was wondering what is the best way to feed them, like how many times a day. With my Papillon I fed her wet and dry in the morning, dry on the afternoon, and wet and dry at night. Eventually though, she stopped eating the afternoon meal after a few months. Then after a few more months she stopped eating the wet with the dry in the morning. Then after a w more months she stopped eating the dry in the morning and now as an adult has free range to her bowl like the there's, but still only eats her wet and dry meal at night. So what would be the best way to feed him, how many times a day and how many servings of wet food? I plan on feeding him Blue Buffalo Wilderness Puppy Dry Food and Blue Buffalo Freedom Grain Free Puppy Wet Food.

  • Will my dogs need sunscreen in Florida?

We are moving to Florida this summer, will my dogs need to wear sunscreen on their noses and stomachs? I heard some do. Is it safe? My dogs are a red Lab Malamute mix (her nose is flesh pink, her belly is light pink, and her paw pads are gray) a buff and white Cocker Spaniel (his nose is brown, his belly is pink, and his paw pads are black and pink) and a tricolor Papillon (her nose is black, her belly is light pink and light brown, and her law pads are pink and black).

  • Would my rabbit get over heated in Florida?

I have a 7 month old Lionhead rabbit. where I live now it gets hot but not as hot as Florida. I usually take him outside in the evenings when I'm with him here. We are moving to Florida this summer to live with my dads girlfriend. Her rabbit (an American) stays outside in a hutch unless its cold or raining. I would never keep mine out there that much, but would mine be able to go outside in Florida or would he overheat because of his really long fur? How cold I set up a little pen for him that he could stay cool in and what time of day could I let him outside safely? I know he would only be out when I was there to watch him.

  • Agility trials jumping for high heights?

I have a 1 year old Papillon. I prefer big dogs (I also have a Lab mix and a Cocker) but I ended up with her and I've trained her to be just like a big dog. I've been training her to jump through hoops. With a running start, she can jump over twice her height. She loves it too, she will constantly jump things because she has so much fun. I make sure not to overdo it though, I don't want to hurt her. I was looking online at picture of Papillons in agility jumping super high and I wanted to train her to do that because she would love it. I started her in agility classes. She just started and I wanted to show them her jumping abilities but they won't let her even jump. They put the bar in the ground and won't let me make it higher. But they let the other dogs, including a small dog that's only a little bit taller than her, jump over high jumps. They tell me it's so she doesn't get hurt. I hate when people judge her like she's not a dog. She's a dog and she can jump just as good as the others if not better. They act like she's not able to do anything. It makes me feel so bad. Are there separate classes for dogs to learn height jumping for agility? How can I tell them that I'd like to do extreme agility like that, not have her step over a bar as a jump? Because the other dogs have to jump their jumps, she steps over hers. The lady says she's never trained a small dog before (even though one of the other dogs isn't too much bigger) so Idk if she thinks they just can't do anything or what. I was really looking forward to this class, and I feel like they're really treating her unfairly. What should I do? :(

  • How can I get rid of my dog's diarrhea?

My dog got spayed last Monday and was doing fine until this Monday evening when she started having diarrhea. It went away for a few hours then came back. We took her to the vet Monday and they said to take her off of the pain medication (they thought that's what was causing it) and gave her a medication for the diarrhea. it hasn't gone away, it has gotten to the point where she tries to poop inside, which she would never ever do. She doesn't even want to eat much. It's horrible because she has to go every hour it seems and then I have to clean her because she has ally long fur on her tail and legs. I've trimmed it as far down as I can without it looking rediculous. It feels useless every time I clean her because I just have to do it again ten minutes later. Plus my dogs stay with my grandmother while I'm at school and since my grandmother won't clean her, it mats into her fur. How can I make it stop? It's driving me insane. She looks and smells horrible. None of my other animal are showing any signs of this whatsoever. She hasn't eaten anything bad or been around any sick dogs. I read that some people fast them 12 hours with just water, some people give pesto bismol, some people give pumpkin, some people feed them rice or beef. What should I do and how much of these things should I give her? She has two dog classes Sunday and Tuesday that she can't be sick for. She is an 11 month old 4 pound Papillon. Please help!
