Fifth year expulsion Ontario?
Hey, I'm in a kinda peculiar situation. I am a student in an Ontario high school who decided, for personal reasons to take a fifth year "victory lap" even though I already have my diploma. My grades have always been solid A's, and I've received early letters of acceptance from two prominent universities. However, I've just been informed that I may be expelled from my high school due to poor attendance. If I were to be expelled, I would still have my degree and a high average, but would the expulsion cause these universities to withdraw their offer?
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education8 years agoTitle of supernatural native horror film?
I'm trying to find the name of this movie that I remember seeing a few years ago. It's a Canadian film, made in the 80s or 90s I think, that had several Native actors. I believe that the plot followed a man, a woman and an elder fleeing from a female spirit. It's kind of an exorcism movie. If you happen to know the title, let me know.
2 AnswersMovies9 years agoMitt Romney allegedly invested millions in a company that disposed of aborted fetuses?
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/07/romney...
"Earlier this year, Mitt Romney nearly landed in a politically perilous controversy when the Huffington Post reported that in 1999 the GOP presidential candidate had been part of an investment group that invested $75 million in Stericycle, a medical-waste disposal firm that has been attacked by anti-abortion groups for disposing aborted fetuses collected from family planning clinics...documents filed by Bain and Stericycle with the Securities and Exchange Commission—and obtained by Mother Jones—list Romney as an active participant in the investment. And this deal helped Stericycle, a company with a poor safety record, grow, while yielding tens of millions of dollars in profits for Romney and his partners. The documents—one of which was signed by Romney—also contradict the official account of Romney's exit from Bain."
Does this make Mitt Romney a hypocrite on the abortion issue?
15 AnswersPolitics9 years agoCan anyone explain to me how panexperientialism supports the idea of free will, as proposed by Whitehead?
I have a rather shaky grasp on the concept - I know that it relates to how each entity has experience, but how does this create a freedom of will?

10 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoCatholics: how can you possibly believe in the perpetual virginity of Mary?
There is absolutely no evidence to support it, and it was not made dogma until the 19th century. So either you support fiction, or you believe that the pope is NOT infallible. Which one?

According to some experts, it might be an unfortunate side-effect of a negative upbringing and other factors:

3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoThe real issue about Jared Lee Loughner?
When will people on both sides admit that Jared Lee Loughner does not represent the left OR the right?
Yeah, he read the Communist Manifest and was an atheist, so he's not a repub
On the other hand, he enjoyed Ayn Rand's "We the Living", Hitler's "Mein Kampf" and shot a DEMOCRATIC Congressoman. So he's clearly no liberal.
The man is obviously mentally disturbed. THE REAL QUESTIONS are:
1. Whether or not he should receive the death penalty
2. Whether or not the fact that he purchased an automatic weapon merits stricter gun control.
Your thoughts?

15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoConservatives: still support trickle down economics now that even Warren Buffet says it doesn't work?
According to him: "I think that people at the high end, people like myself, should be paying a lot more in taxes. We have it better than we've ever had it."
He also stated that "The rich are always going to say that, you know, 'Just give us more money, and we'll go out and spend more, and then it will all trickle down to the rest of you.' But that has not worked the last 10 years, and I hope the American public is catching on."
Bill Gates has also come out in favour of higher taxes for Americans of higher incomes.
