  • How to help separation anxiety?

I recently adopted another dog (making the grand total two) and she's a great dog. However, when left alone inside the house, even with the other dog, she pees, and if she's recently eaten, she throws up. It's only when we're not up and about. When we are up and about, she may whine to come into the rest of the house (currently not an option, but we plan to integrate the dogs into the house, the kitchen is the safe room) and she will follow us everywhere. If outside, she may bark and whine, but she'll settle down and won't urinate or be sick if separated from us.

    How do I help her?

She is 18 months old and I know I am at least her third home. I got her from a couple that no longer had time for her, and they got her from a foster. I have no idea other than that or if she's been abused.

  • Should I get spiked dog collars?

I'm considering a spiked collar for both of my dogs. A 1.5 yr old husky/shepherd/mastiff/??? mix (he's a little stocky, has a long silky coat, and a very slight underbite and tricolored.) And a 1 yr old collie/lab mix (she's tall, a little lanky, long muzzle, completely black, half of the weight of him but a few inches taller). The collars would be used only on walks so they look a little more intimidating, and for the original purpose of protecting the throat. They would still wear their sturdy collars for their leashes to attach to.

My questions are, /should/ I get spiked collars, and if so, what type since it would only be worn for short periods of time and wouldn't be the one used for walking, just protection and intimidation.

  • Can a surrender fee be waved?

I agreed to pet sit a cat while previous owner moved and another person made arrangements to take her. The person who said they'd take her changed their mind.

The cat is sweet, but she attacks my cat when my cat tries to play with her or groom her (they're the same age, size, and sex) and blood has been drawn between them. She also pees everywhere but the litter box. Door mat, bathroom mat, litter mat, a coat that's fallen on the floor, a scrap of paper... She'll poop in the litter box and will pee in it rarely, but for the most part, she wants to pee everywhere. I pet her and play with her, give her catnip, turned the cover litterbox around so she can't be ambushed by the resident cat, and she still refuses to use the litterbox.

It's been a month, she doesn't seem to be settling in, she harasses and is harassed by my cat, hides from myself and my mother sometimes, and my mom actually hates her. Clearly I can't provide the loving home for the cat that she deserves, and I want to take her to the humane society, but since I wasn't expecting to have to do such a thing, I was wondering if the surrender fee can be waved. I have proof that she was abandoned.

  • What kind of wireless router do I need?

I was given a free Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614 v9, and it'll be good in the meantime, but I would like to upgrade soon. I'm not sure what I need. We surf the web, like to listen to pandora and watch Netflix. What should I get?

  • What should I stock a 55 gallon tank with?

I'm getting a 55 gal tank for cheap (owner no longer needs it) and it will be gathering dust for a while before it can be set up, so I have time to plan ahead. I'd like to have a male betta, some neons, (10-15) and a small species of pleco. What else can I or should I add?

  • How do I satisfy my cat's need to be outdoors...?

Without letting her outside? She's about a year old, and came to us off the streets. She clearly wants to go back outside, she has twice but I caught her in seconds, but I can't let her. I live next to a highway, a busy shopping center, a bus station, and many neighbors have large dogs. (The fact she wasn't killed is a miracle) I'm not sure a leash would work with her, so what do I do?

  • Difficulty breathing, what is this?

I've had costochondritis, sprained ribs and dislocated ribs. A few weeks ago, I accidentally placed weight on my chest, and it stopped working. I felt fluttering (my heart?) and I couldn't inhale or exhale. It's been happening to a less severe extent, the inability to breath and the fluttering, while resting. I don't why, or what it is and if I should see a doctor. It lasts for seconds.

  • Should I go to the doctor for this?

I was diagnosed with costochondritis on the left side of my chest about a month and a half ago between the third and fourth ribs, and two years before that in the lower ribs, one of which is now dislocated. The pain the second time was worse than the first.

About two weeks, maybe a little longer, I had new pain in the middle of my chest. Feeling around, I noticed tenderness and some lumps that are not on the right side. They are near the breast, but do not think they are cysts or cancer since they are so close to the sternum.

Now the fatigue is getting worse, there even when I rest, and the pain has turned from dull to burning. It hurts to yawn or take deep breaths, talking can hurt, reaching above my head, moving around in general hurts, wearing a bra is painful, and sneezing will cause the muscles to twitch and spasm. (this and the pain while reaching is new)

To my knowledge, there isnt much that can be done for costochondritis, but the symptoms seem to be getting worse. I am wondering if I should go see the doctor again.

Other info: I am a 20 year old female, dont smoke, and have already been given a 10 lb weight limit. I was told to go back to the doctor if the symptoms dont improve in a week. They did, but only for a little while.

  • Sick betta, whats wrong?

I had to clean one of my tanks, so I put those fish in with my betta for about 20 minutes. None of the fish attacked each other and when I was done, I put the two fish back in their own tank. Since then, my betta has been acting listless, floating on his sides sometimes, but occasionally moving around. He tries to swim towards the bottom, but always floats up words. I have no clue whats going on and I dont want him to die.

  • Are uneven tonsils a cause for concern?

My right tonsil is just visible when I check my throat, but I cant see my left at all. I have a few white spots on the right one and on the back of my throat, but I dont have any pain. This has been like this for a long time, or it happens very often, and I was wondering if this is cause for concern. I have a history of strep throat and scarlet fever, and live with a smoker.
