We have two computers 1tower 1laptop and we took the tower apart and moved it and then hooked it back up and everything worked. except the mouse. it wouldn't detect the mouse. so we hooked the mouse to my laptop and it didn't detect it on there either. thats not the worst part.. all usb connections ports on both computers stopped working after the mouse was hooked up. so i had to reinstall usb drivers on my computer and it works fine now but it still doesn't detect the mouse. and he cant surf the web and install usb drivers on his computer since he cant use the mouse.

i checked device manager and in there there was keyboard, usb, but no mouse at all! and there were no error messages in the usb thing either so its not that.. at this point i am thinking I gonna have to get a new mouse unless i can think of something else

The mouse is a wired logitech Mx310 and their tech support is useless. They have no software or drives for it and they said the mouse wasn't really designed for vista but it worked fine on both computers for over a 1yr. I have hooked it and unhooked it at least once a week on both computers.

Note: We both have Vista and the same mouse has worked on both computers. The mouse is not physically damaged and neither are the usb ports.

I have an external harddrive which connects to my computer using a usb. So its a simple - connect, click and play but it doesn't work. Instead it says installing drivers which it shouldn't be doing and then it says unable to detect drivers please install drivers.

I called their tech support but they were useless they said it had to do with my computers usb connection. Which doesn't make sense cuz i have a mouse connected to my laptop using usb and it works fine.

I have Vista Home Basic and the external hard drive is a Maxtor II 200g. It worked before but it just doesn't work now.
