  • Purchased a possible recalled grill. It burnt down.?

In July of 2006, my wife and I purchased a Brinkmann gas grill. Yesterday, it caught fire, melting the knobs, destroying the starter, and causing panic generally.

Further research indicates that Brinkmann grills produced in 2005 were subject to product recall, a fact that neither the retailer nor the company website made us aware.

Assuming we did, in fact, have a recalled product, what are our rights in this scenario? The grill is beyond repair, cause, you know, fire, and I would have little interest in operating a Brinkmann death trap.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • I cracked my window. What do I do?

We have a double-paned window (8X6 or so) in our living room. I cracked the inner pane, setting off an earthquake effect. It clearly needs to be replaced, though it doesn't seem to be an emergency situation.

What is the least expensive way to fix the problem? What would be the estimated cost?

  • Justin.tv not working?

I can visit the channel, but I can't get any streams to show, or view any of the chats. I have tried re-installing activex, and clearing cookies. Anyone know what's going on?

  • I am a victim of mortgage fraud. Can I repair my credit?

Basically, I refinanced a property through a company, which baited and switched mortgage documents so as to stick me with a one-month option ARM. I have ceased to make payments on a home I cannot afford, and the house has entered pre-foreclosure.

Recently, the owner of the mortgage company plead guilty to mortgage fraud, and has lost his license. Does this give me any leeway to have the inevitable foreclosure taken off my record?

  • Offline draft online?

For various reasons, I want to hold a draft for an online fantasy league "offline". However, since our teams are from all over the country, I would like to do this via online forum. What is the best route to do this? Are there any generic chatrooms that will work?

  • Roster assistance for ff.?

My first crack at Fantasy Football, and I already know I need to troll the waiver wires. A blow fuse led to an auto-draft of copious RBs to boot. Here's where I'm at. Any advice on where I should be?

    QB - Drew Brees

    WR - Steve Smith

    RB - Brian Westbrook

    TE - Alge Crumpier

    W/T - Roy Williams

    W/R - Braylon Edwards

    Kicker - Neil Rackers

    Defense - Miami

    DB - Ronde Barber

    DL - Julius Peppers

    Bench - Cedric Benson

    Bench - Donald Driver

    Bench - Jay Cutler

    Bench - Julius Jones

    Bench - Tatum Bell

    Bench - Owen Daniels

Plan on dropping Bell and probably Daniels (as I said, I didn't intend to draft them). What positions should I address on waivers?

  • 2002 Ford Focus Transmission?

I have a 2002 Focus with about 70k miles. At about 35 mph, the transmission seems to slip. I experience a complete lack of acceleration (as the engine revs) followed by a kick into the next gear. The engine light is not on, and a transmission flush didn't fix it. Further, the transmission shop couldn't see anything wrong with it.

It only happens occassionally, especially in rush hour, when I am hovering around the 35 mph mark for an extended period. I have to think it's the transmission, but what else can I do?

  • laundry tub leak?

My laundry tub has a small leak, seemingly from where the pipe meets the tub. The city says I have to either fix it or replace the tub. I don't want to do the latter, and I am wondering a good temporary solution to stop the leak. I have tried a spray patch, and put epoxy around the top of the pipe. Any other ideas.

  • Tenant is suing me?

My tenant recently moved out of my rental property. She (with help from her children) trashed the joint.

MN gives 21 days for landlords to inform tenants I sent her a letter notifying her of this fact. I wasn't sure of her address (she provided me one, but later said it wasn't correct), so I e-mailed her as well and cc'd her case worker just to make sure she had her letter.

A few days later, she sent me a handwritten note, notifying me that she had not received the letter, and that she had no choice but to take me to court. I promptly sent another letter via registered mail, which she has not verified having received.

Today I received a summons to appear in conciliary court, since she is suing me for double the amount of the deposit. Her game seems to be to ignore all communications on my end, so that she can pretend she never received them. Anyone had a similar experience? How best to proceed?

  • Sanding between layers of poly?

We are finishing our wood floors on a property we are selling. We are using multiple coats of poly, and the canister advises sanding between coats, which we were advised is unecessary. After two coats of semi-gloss, the floor still seems rough, and we are beginning to think we should have simply done what the can told us. It is smoother after the second coat, but not yet smooth.

My question is what to do at this point. Will a thrid layer make things better or worse? If we do a 220 grit sand at this point, will that still be beneficial? Does it make sense to go with a glossier finish?

  • Pain in upper leg after knee surgery?

I had orthoscopic surgery almost a week ago to remove some loose bodies resulting from a transient dislocation. The knee itself feels pretty good, and I can tell that that they removed the problem.

However, my inner thigh, just above the knee, is in a lot of pain. It is swollen and hurts to the touch. Is this normal? Is it a reaction to the fluids injected during surgery? When should the pain subside?
