How to train a dog thats not interested in food/treats or toys....?
Toby is good on recall, he comes back, he sits, heal etc that I've managed to train but if he is distracted I fear he won't come back to me when called.
He is not your typical dog, he's not interested in food, treats or toys. I don't know why.
He was found on the streets the width of his spine so he was on the streets for a while and so I don't think he's learnt the dog behaviour we see today.
I've kept him around my parents dogs for a week at a time with me there, in the hope he picks up about ball throwing so I can use that to train but I've had no luck.
Have you been through the same? Any advice on what I can try.
On walks and in the house if I give him a treat, he will take it but then drop it out of his mouth.
I've tried all treats.
12 AnswersDogs8 years agoQuestion about Stalling. Will the car lunge into the car in front?
OK I hope this makes sense.
I've had my license for a few years now but I had a friend in the car and she got a bit panicked as when I was a some red lights (They were due to turn green) I stopped the car and had my feet pressed down fully on the clutch and the brake.
(I always make sure there is loads of room between me and the car infront).
She was concerned that if my foot slipped off of the clutch that the car would stall and smash into a car in front.
I know it will stall, but my question is, if I haven't got the hand-break on and my foot slips off of the clutch, will it lunge into the car in the front? (as opposed to the hand-break being on - or does it not matter at all)
I have stalled before a few times (can't remember if this is with hand-break on of off) and as far as I know it just jutters forwards and stands still.
4 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation8 years agoWhere are all my items/files on the CD-R gone!?
I use CD-R to put on all of our family photo's so in case something happens with the computer, at least I have the disks.
I have several folders on it for family photo's throughout the year. I've just put it in and transferred todays Photo's onto it.
Now EVERYTHING has gone from the disk.
HOWEVER, the properties say that the Used Space is 339 MB and the Free Space is 363 MB, so they are on there SOMEWHERE.
I have removed the disk and re-entered it, and I have gone through the properties to see if the files have been hidden etc, all is fine.
So confused. And upset as I stupidly deleted the photo's off of the camera before viewing them as I thought they had transferred onto the disk. I saw the photo's pop up on screen one by one as it was moving over.
Any ideas please?
Thank you in advance :)
2 AnswersOther - Computers9 years agoIntroducing a new dog to a male & female dog...?
I'm getting a new dog soon and he will be the only pet in the house. My parents live down south and they have 2 dogs (One Male who is 12 yrs and has lived there for 10 yrs, and one 1 yr old who has lived there for a few months). I'm worried about them not getting along.
I know how to introduce 2 dogs, but I'm worried as there is a female dog involved and worrying about over-protectiveness.
Any advice please? I live 200 miles away, so bringing him down and them not settling would be a problem, but a problem I will deal with as I wont put them all through upset etc.
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoAdvice/tips on filling an internal walls hole - it goes right through?
So I can't just put poly filler on it as it will just fall through - I must have a build up of previous attempts of polyfiller in between the walls lol. I can't access the other side of the plasterboard as it's my internal wall (so two separate plasterboards parallel with each other - make sense? lol)
So what can I do/use.
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)9 years agoHelp about a Travel Lodge Booking - When do they take the Payment out?
I've already booked it online yesterday and it said that Payment will be taken out at point of booking. Now I assumed that meant as soon as it was confirmed - straight away.
I've checked my bank today though and it's not been taken (received confirmation etc).
So, were they meant to take it out yesterday or will they take it out on the day of arrival?
Thank you :)
2 AnswersLeeds9 years agoMessage notifications on Blackberry - help please?
I want to link up my facebook with my BB (8520) but I don't like the messaging folder being full of everything I 'like', comment on etc. I like it all clean and tidy lol. (The folder that contains EVERY message from BBM, whatsapp, email etc etc)
Is there any way where I can stop it all being logged in the messages folder?
Thanks
1 AnswerMobile Phones & Plans9 years agoWhat is the difference between the Blackberry Curve 8520 & 8320?
I've just bought myself one and my husband the other and I was wondering what the differences were in them?
I want Wi-fi which both have. Can I get Whatsapp on both of them? And do they both have BBM? I'm assuming they do lol.
Thank you x
1 AnswerMobile Phones & Plans9 years agoWhy when I update my facebook status using my blackberry, is it 'Only Me' who can view it......?
Even though when I log into a computer my settings state that 'Friends' should be able to view my updates/statuses
If I use Blackberry to do a status for Facebook, no one can see it, and from a computer, that particular status is set as 'Only Me' if that makes sense?
If I update one while using a computer, it's fine.....
3 AnswersFacebook9 years agoBookkeeping Level 1 - Cash Books Help please?
I'm doing cash books for a Bookkeeping course and one of the scenarios is 'Withdrawal of £200 from the bank to put into the business'
Does this go into the Debit or Credit side? I'm assuming as it is a 'money out' that it will go into the Credit side (Right Hand side), or do I tally it up so you can see it in both Debit and Credit sides?
Does this make sense lol?
Thanks in advance x
2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance9 years agoGoogle - everytime I start writing 'do' it spins...what's going on!?
Basically what I've said in the title!
If I start with 'Do' then the entire page will spin around - anyone else? No one's been on the computer, so nobody has done something with it.
If I start with another word 'Did' then it's fine.
I'm using google chrome - it's making me dizzy lol
1 AnswerGoogle9 years agoI'm wanting to go shopping in Manchester, which station should I go to?
Me and my mum are planning a shopping trip to Manchester from huddersfield, and I'm not sure which train station I should go to?
Which has more shops close by? Victoria, Picadilly or Oxford Road?
Plus, I love shopping centres, so any ideas?
Did Leeds the other day and loved that but I know my way around Leeds a little bit better than Manchester.

7 AnswersManchester10 years agoWhy can't I connect Media Player to xbox?? Help please x?
So I've got the Media Player 11 for the XP and I've connected the xbox to the internet etc and I've gone onto Windows Media Player and allowed the Media Sharing with the xbox.
Media Player on the xbox is saying I need to go to xbox.com/pcsetup and punch in an 8 digit code, but no where can I find where to put this. All that is on that page is about the different media players.
I'm totally confused. I want to play a video on my xbox so I can use the bigger TV.
If I can't do this, do you know if I can play WMV using the Zune I have on the xbox?
Thank you very much :D
Xbox10 years agoHelp about Photo sizes please. If I ordered 10x12....?

If I was to order 12x10 would that be 12inches along the top OR will they turn it around for me as I need it 10 inches across and 12 inches down - sorry if this is a simple question, I just don't want to buy a load and then realise I've wasted money.
Thanks x
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden10 years agoHow does cleaning up the x-clamp on the xbox fix it?
For the RROD.
Is it the fact you change it over with screws that help it? Or is it the Thermal Compound? What is it and WHY does that seem to help the xbox into recovery??

1 AnswerXbox10 years agoXbox 360 Transfer Cable - Help please?
OK, so we had the xbox 360 arcade and bought a 60GB hard drive to go with it and now we've got the xbox 360 slim.
We need to transfer data from the old Hard Drive to the new Slim Hard Drive.
Because we've got the 4gb Slim (hoping to buy a 250gb HDD) can we just hook up the transfer cable and just play the Slim without transferring the data? Is that making sense?
ALSO, when we do eventually transfer data, will it transfer my husbands Live Gold? He has 4 months left on it.
Thanks
2 AnswersXbox10 years agoHelp about working hours and tax credits please?
My husband has now been working at his new job for a few weeks now, and I phoned up the Tax Credits Helpline to let them know of a chance in circumstances.
Now, because it's shift work me and the man on the phone at Inland Revenue have agreed to put down his hours as 30 hours per week (as my husband was doing between 20-30 hours)
My husband is still doing shift work but it's now between 30hrs-40hrs.
The Tax Credit people said something and I'm not sure exactly what it is, so I'm hoping someone can help me.
He said something along the lines of 'There is no change in benefit between 'x' hours and 'x' hours'
Now, is that between 20-30hrs or 30-40 hours?
Is this making sense?? lol. Hopefully someone can help me lol.
2 AnswersUnited Kingdom10 years agoMy cat is so skinny and scared :( What can I do?
We have two cats, they're both a 2 years old now, and one is big a fat (Lola) but the other one (Miya) is far too thin.
We've taken her to the vets a number of times and nothing was said about her weight, but it's horrible stroking her because you can feel her bones :'(
I've already put another post about fleas, because Miya is also biting and loosing a lot of fur in patches on her body. She's been told she has an allergy to Flea dirt, but I've treated her for fleas and I gave her worming tablets incase she was biting and thin because of worms.
Nothing has worked.
I've even fed her wet food as she eats it more than the dried and I've fed the cats in seperate rooms so Lola doesn't pinch any, but she's still not gaining weight.
It's horrible to look at, the poor thing, and it really upsets me. I'm booking Vets again because there must be something they can do, or something they can tell me to do.
Is there any food that I can give her that is higher in fat or something?
We had her when she was apparently 8 weeks old, but there was no way she was, and the seller once slipped up and said she was 6 weeks, but we think she was possibly 4 weeks old (We would never have got her if we'd known she was younger than 8 weeks, she was always so tiny and I cared for her etc. Perhaps she was younger or perhaps the runt?
She doesn't like people and is a very scared cat, of course she's fine with me, but there have been occassions where she's seemed scared of me when I've walked up the garden path etc.
I'm just so confused on what to do. Her fur, being skinny and being scared. I had a horrible thought of perhaps getting her a home where there is just an older couple in a quiet area perhaps? (I have 2 children 7 and 4) I don't want to get rid of her. If people come round then she hides upstairs or outside in the woodland area.
People must think we've been neglecting her because of the way she looks, but my other cat is full of beans and is a good sized cat (We say she's a fat cat but to be honest it's probably said as she's been compared to Miya's size - she's not a fat cat really lol).
Might go and bath Miya, wondering if washing her fur will remove any flea dirt.
Any advice on the fur loss - could it be something other than fleas considering I've always treated her for fleas and she still has it?
Any advice on her weight, how can I build it up, what is out there in the market?
Any advice on her being so scared?
7 AnswersCats10 years agoQuestion about Cat Flea tablets.....?
My cat is allergic to Flea dirt and is losing her hair which is very upsetting to see. We gave her treatment for her sores etc and we gave her some flea tablets but nothing worked, she was still losing hair.
I'm going to re-treat her with Flea tablets and spray the house etc. (I'm assuming flea dirt is their droppings).
I was going to buy Bob Martins Flea tablets for her and it contains 3 tablets, I have two cats, so could I just buy this one pack and then use one tablet each on them or is there 2 in a box because I need to do it each week etc?
Thank You.
How often are you meant to de-flea them? I'm worried incase I'm not doing enough.
2 AnswersCats10 years agoMotorcycle license question?
OK, so is this correct?
My husband has a provisional car driving licence, it means nothing if he wants to drive a motorcycle, so he'll have to do his CBT training and once passed he'll have 3 years to apply for the 'big test'
He'll have also have to take a theory test - is this different from the car theory test?
Then within those 3 years he can ride up to 125cc (he's 34 years old) and when he feels reading he can apply for his motorcycle license.
I've seen different types though, A1, Restricted License, Direct Access and Accelerated Access. Which is which?
Thank you
