  • torn ligament in my knee?

I twisted my knee falling off of a chair. The doctor says it's probably a torn ligament and to go see an orthopedist. If the ligament is indeed torn, will I HAVE to get surgery?

  • zelda:ocarina of time - can't pull a block back!?

Hi, i'm currently in the water temple - on the third floor in the passage to the right of the entrance. (you go through a hallway, drop down into some water and sink down...) when I come to the block underneath the water I can't move it! it says in every walkthrough that I should just be able to pull it, but it won't let me do it and I absolutely cannot move any further without getting the key behind it. what should I do? is this a glitch in my particular game I have or what? grrrr!

  • Items not loading / can't harvest animals in Farmville?

Hi! I'm having trouble with my farm in Farmville. I play it on 2 separate computers. Both macs, running on the same OS, with the same browser (firefox) When I play it on my computer at home, I can see certain items such as a big pond I've placed and some other random decorations.

But when i play it on my work computer I can't see my pond (although the game will not let me place anything where it's located....) and it won't let me harvest any animals (every time I click on one it gives me the error message that the server is out of sync, and it restarts the game)

any idea on how to fix this?! thanks!

  • I ( a pedestrian ) was hit by a car - didn't get a chance to get insurance information...?

I was walking home from work today, and I came to the corner of an intersection (no traffic light, crosswalk or stop sign) of a side street (Davis Lane SE in Marietta, GA) that goes between two businesses and and a 2 lane (per way) street (Franklin Rd SE in Marietta, GA) that is not that busy usually... I was walking perpendicular Franklin Rd SE, right next to the curb on the road as there are no sidewalks. I came to the intersection of Davis Lane and a car was driving up it, who was about to make a right on Franklin.

He and I stopped at the same time, and he looked at me as if he saw me, and he didn't move, so I assumed he was going to let me across. So i take about 5 or 6 steps, and right as I was directly in front of his vehicle, this guy GUNS it and slams his car right into me. I screamed at him to stop but he just kept going - and I was able to grab onto the hood of his car but my legs kept getting pulled under the car and they were getting knocked all over the place. after the initial surge of gas that he originally hit me with, he continued to go about 150 ft. at what i'm guessing was at least 30mph with me on his hood before I got knocked off into the middle of the road.

A couple of people in a parking lot nearby got me up off the road and called the police and paramedics. The guy - a DWARF - eventually stopped about another 150 ft. down and got out of his car. It hit me that maybe his foot hit the wrong pedal or something, or his pedal adjuster things that i'm assuming he had on his car to compensate for his height had gone awry - but if he had hit the wrong pedal the car would've continued to go faster at an accelerated rate, not surge and then continue at a constant speed. when he came up to me I screamed "Why the f*ck didn't you stop!!!" and he said "I was just trying to turn!" like he hit me to spite me because i was "in his way" or maybe his logic is that if he kept ramming through me i'd eventually fall off of his car and "get out of his way so he could turn"....The people got me to the side of the road and the guy just went over to his car and stood there while we waited for the cops to show up. Nevermind I'm an "I'm sorry" or "let me give you my insurance information" and I didn't think to ask because i was still in shock that I had just been hit by a car.

The cops got there in a matter of minutes and took a report and I was checked to see if I could move by the paramedics who then loaded me into an ambulance and took me to the hospital. Luckily I have only a severely sprained ankle and a bunch of abrasions and bruises - but i'm kind of worried that I wasn't able to get the guys insurance information. I got a glance at his license plate number, but I can't remember it as I couldn't really move to write it down. The cops gave me my case number that I can call in and get a copy of the police report - will this help me track the guy down so I can get all of my medical bills paid for?

  • chiropractic/podiatry/shoe insole insert question?

I have pronation in my ankles, and I just got a waitressing job. I was fine with it before, but now that i'm running around like crazy, my ankles are really hurting because of it. I know I need to get insoles to alleviate the pain - but i don't have health insurance to go see a podiatrist to have insoles made for me. Does anyone know what the best brand of insoles I could buy 'over the counter' are?

  • My cockatiel is making these wierd squeaky noises!?

    I have a male cockatiel - he's almost 10 years old...

He has this rope toy hanging from the top of his cage, and he keeps putting his head underneath it and nuzzling with it and making this really wierd soft squeaky noises. I can only assume this is mating behaviour. He was living at my parent's place for a long time, and i just brought him to live with me. He doesn't have as much activity around him now that he lives with me....I have a mirror in his cage to keep him company when i am at work...But he never made these noises up until he came to my place...and he's doing it almost all the time now. Is this a sign I need to get him a friend?

  • Is a Jeep Wrangler a good choice for me?

I'm not quite ready to buy a car YET, but this is going to be my first car. I've been a slave to the bus system my entire life, and have finally found myself in a situation that I will most likely be able to get a car. I've had my eye on a Jeep Wrangler for a long time, I just love the outdoors-feel of it, yet its a convertible! I have yet to test drive one, but maybe some of the Jeep owners can shed some light as to whether this would be a good choice for me?

I currently live in a suburb outside of Atlanta, the traffic is light where i live, and I would rarely use it to drive into the city, which has horrendous traffic. The very flat roads get icy here sometimes in the winter, and we have rain once in awhile. My family lives up in Pittsburgh (12 hours away) Pennsylvania where there's tons of snow, ice and hills in the winter. I'd like a car that would be good for the drive up there as well as driving where i currently live.

I love camping and all kinds of outdoorsy things, and would love a vehicle that would allow me to get into some back country areas.

I need a vehicle that is easy to repair, and extremely reliable - and a vehicle that I could learn to repair small things on. With the budget I currently have, I'm wanting to find one for under 10K if at all possible, so are Wranglers reliable cars to buy even if they have over, say, 100 thousand miles on it?

I would love something with acceptable gas mileage - i don't need anything like a Prius gets (although that would be nice!) But compared to the wide range of vehicles out there, does the Wrangler get mileage that you can live with?

I need a vehicle that I can take at most 10 bags of groceries in to and from the store, and would like a car that I can keep a few things in the back (like my camping equipment) and not have to worry about it being stolen.

Also, I've read that the crash ratings are decent, would you agree?

If you don't think a wrangler is a good choice, is there something else you can recommend?

  • question about sewing machine repair?

Grr. I'm so mad! I currently own a Singer 834 and the top thread isn't catching the bottom thread. After doing all i know how to do (cleaning around bobbin, replacing needle, checking to see if needing isn't going down far enough) It still won't work. I suspect its whatever that loop thing that goes around in a counter clockwise motion...broke.

can i fix this myself (i can't say i'm super familiar with the inner workings of the machine itself)? do i need to take it into a shop?....if so....how much will it cost? (ballpark figure)

  • Applying for a part time job after layoff?

Hi everyone! I got laid off from my job a few days ago. I am currently in the graphic design field. I will be getting unemployment to tide me over until i can find my next job - however I'm going to need to get a part time job to supplement my unemployment income until i CAN get that job. My question is, when applying for such a position, how should i word it in any p/t interview so that they know this is just a short time thing without preventing myself from getting the job because i will only be there for no more than 3 months? or should i just not tell them at all?

  • how do i become a college-level design teacher if i already have a design degree?

Hello! I currently have a BS in graphic design. but after working in the field for a few years, i hate it. I love design so much, but i hate the corporate atmosphere. I really miss being in college and being that student that all the students came to for help because i knew more than the teachers did. It really filled me with a sense of joy and purpose helping others reach their potential. I'm getting alot of pessimistic comments from my fellow designers when i tell them this because "remember jen, those who can't do, teach." it's not that i can't do, i'm really good at my job! but i just don't feel its my calling. I felt right helping others and being in a more creative and expressive environment day to day. what steps would i need to take to possibly follow the path of becoming a design teacher? or do you all have any ideas of any other fields i could enter with this desire?

  • have you ever had any issues with memory loss while taking lexapro?

I'm currently only on 10 mg of lexapro a day and it has been my miracle drug! Its the only drug that has ever worked so well and I feel so much better when i'm taking it - and honestly fear ever having to go off of it because of what i'm like when i don't take my medicine.

The problem is, that for about the past year (i've been on it for almost 2) i've been having some real issues with my short-term memory, my concentration, and believe it or not, my spelling. it's just like i don't feel as smart as i used to, or as sharp, and i'm having alot of trouble perfoming at my job. has anyone else had this problem? I'm only 24 so there's no way its alzheimers, and i'm not particularly stressed out.

Like i said - its my miracle drug, i don't want to ever stop taking it, but this is getting rediculous.

  • pet sympathy gifts?

My friend just had to put his italian greyhound to sleep, he's really torn up. i'd love to get him a small, (fairly inexpensive) gift to cheer him up...something other than a card.

He's a 30 year old guy, so some mushy book wouldn't work.

i was trying to find a little figurine with some angel wings, but every one i'm finding is either too girly looking or just doesn't look like his dog at all.

    does anyone have any ideas?
