3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhat causes a cat to sporadically act sick?
About 8 months ago, my cat started acting sick. She didn't want to eat much, didn't move much and didn't want to play. I took her to the vet and had a blood panel done but they couldn't figure out anything wrong with her and they wanted to do a bunch of tests I couldn't afford. I took her home and she was fine a few days later. This past week, she started acting sick again. I didn't take her to the vet, and now she's back to herself. Any ideas?
She is indoors only, spayed, and we don't use poisons or anything around the house.
2 AnswersCats1 decade agoAny idea why my cockatiel has become really noisy?
He's been absolutely obnoxious and non-stop twittering and singing. He did this when we first got him last year, but settled down. Any ideas why a year and a half later, he's started to be obnoxious again?
He was screeming non-stop for 45 minutes at 6:00 this morning; I had to get earplugs.

6 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhat are these gigantic black bees that love to hang out in my yard?
I live in CA in the San Francisco Bay Area, and there are tons of gigantic black bees that like to hang out around my purple potato bush. There's always at least 5 or 6 of these guys. They're about 1.5 inches long and very thickly built.

4 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoIs 65 degrees F too cold for a koi?
I just put in a new pond and I was thinking about moving a tank koi out to it, but the water temp is 65 degrees. Will that be too cold for him?
4 AnswersFish1 decade agoWill a koi start growing when it has more room?
I have a koi who is about 5" who has lived in a 10 gallon aquarium for about 5 years. I am planning on putting him into a pond 10x that size; will he grow any bigger when he has more room or is he permanently stunted?
4 AnswersFish1 decade agoCan I put koi in a 100 gallon pond?
I just put in a new pond that is more or less 100 gallons. It has one goldfish in there who is a survivor from the old pond. I will also be putting one goldfish and a koi who has lived in a 10 gallon tank for 5-6 years.
I saw a stunning butterfly koi at a pond shop, and I was considering getting him. Would that be too many fish for the pond?
4 AnswersFish1 decade agoAnyone ever have a lineolated parakeet?
I was thinking about getting one of these. I've heard they are supposed to be nice and affectionate.
I'm moving to an apartment and can't take my obnoxiously loud jerk conure with me, and I was thinking a bird who is actually friendly might be a nice addition.

1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoWhat are the chances of getting a sheltie that doesn't bark alot?
I don't mind barking at the doorbell, etc, I just don't want a dog who barks for no reason or at a blowing leaf. Are most or even all shelties obnoxious barkers?
7 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhere can you look up AKC rankings for the top dogs?
Not the statistics of the most popular breeds, but the actual individual dog rankings. Some breeders will say, "#17 German Shepherd of 2008", etc, but where can you look up the ranking info?
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoIs my parrot masturbating?
I just moved my conure's wood pot toy closer to his perch, and he has been rubbing his butt against it and making a soft "errrhhhh.....errrrhhhhh" sound when he does it. Is he, um, jacking off? I am not sure he is a male, he has not been sexed. Should I take his toy away from him, or let him do his thing?
1 AnswerBirds1 decade agoAre goffins cockatoos good pets?
I like Umbrellas and Moloccuns, but they're just too loud for me and too dependent. What are goffins like? I've heard they're not that loud and not as neurotically needy as the bigger goffins.
I have a conure now who is kind of a jerk to most people and prefers to be left alone, and I'd like a bird who is more people-oriented and actually lets you pet him.
