  • Can I freeze raw decorated cookies?

I am making simple almond cookies for Christmas which I'll make, roll and cut then freeze while raw. Will defrost and cook when needed.

I'd like to decorate them before cooking with coloured sugar, can I do this before freezing or will I need to add the sugar after thawing?

  • Where to play Skee Ball in UK?

Am looking for arcades in the UK (preferable South/South East/East Anglia/Midlands) that have Skee Ball - or an equivilant generic game like Ice Ball. The only one I have found so far is the NamcoStation in London. Anyone seen these machines elsewhere?

  • Mexican(ish) party food ideas?

Have got a little house party coming up and would like to make some vaguely mexican themed snacks and finger foods (preferably cold, or minimum cooking at the last minute) for my guests.

All I've come up with so far is nachos with salsa and guac/sour cream, and maybe some veggie wrap rolls. The ideas don't have to be 100% authentic mexican, but should fit the theme, veggie ideas or recipes that can be adapted to a veggie option are preferred.

I also wondered about doing red, green and white food for the mexican flag.

Thanks in advance for any ideas...

  • Condensed milk in the UK?

Does anyone know where I could get condensed milk in the UK that is NOT made by Nestle? I have a couple of recipes I want to try that call for condensed milk, but can only find this particular brand who I boycott.

    Any ideas?

  • Offers/deals for eating/going out in Windsor?

Am having a long weekend in Windsor with a friend next week. We're both on a budget, so would really appreciate any links for special offers/vouchers for restaurants and days out in the area.

Also, any suggestions of nice things to do around there?

  • Thumbs down but no better suggestions?

Have noticed on a few questions recently where there are several answers along the same lines which have all been given a thumbs down. However, nobody has posted an alternate answer. Seems petty, and unhelpful, to give someone else the thumbs down and not give an answer yourself. What does anyone else think about this? Do you ever do this?

  • Why do people post on here in emergencies?

I know I'm not the only one who gets agitated by this! I can see this is a useful place to come for general advice on pet care, but why on earth do people think it's appropriate to come on here when their pet is collapsed, having breathing difficulties, seizuring etc?

To you sensible pet owners on here, wouldn't you say it's normal to have the vet's number saved on your phone, and to call them when you're worried about your pet?

I can't tell if people are truly naive about how seriously ill their pets are sometimes, or if they are just trying to avoid vets bills!?

  • Who likes to procrastinate?

Am I the only one, or do you ever find that when you need to revise for a test or do some other studying, everything else (housework, cooking, going on Yahoo! answers) suddenly seems way more important? What are your favourite activities for putting off work?

  • Would Heath Ledger have won the oscar if he was still alive?

Whilst I think it was a good performance, it was a comic book villain and I don't think that role would have been considered as oscar worthy if he hadn't passed away. Would be interested in what others think?

  • Language - Couldn't care less?

Have heard this expression in a couple of US shows as "could care less", which to me makes no sense, as it seems to be used in the same context as the phrase I'm used to, "couldn't care less". Is the prior phrase more commonly used in the US, or is this an error of the shows I've seen? If it is used, can anyone explain where the change comes from?

  • Star Wars Lego complete saga on Wii, help please...?

Am working my way through this game, which I am totally hooked on, and am now at the stage of going through the game on free play finding all the mini kit pieces, power bricks and getting true Jedi status. Am having major problems on the Retake Theed Palace level, where I've found all the minikit and the power brick, but am still around 20,000 studs short of True Jedi - any tips? Am sure I must be missing something!
