What am I missing? C programming help needed.?

For this assignment I am to write up code that will take a text file and count the number of words/sentences in the file. The hw states that a word can either start with a number 0-9, a capital letter 'A-Z', or lower case letters 'a-z'. A word then ends with either a space, tab, or end of line. The program I've got so far will count only the number of spaces, tabs, and end of line. What do I need to do in order to progress?

  • What's it like from the woman's point of view?

I don't really socialize much with the opposite gender and I'm always told to go do activities I enjoy as to find women with common ground that I do. But activities like working out at the gym or going to church events, I feel like women don't really go to these things to go looking for a boyfriend. And even if I tried talking about my interests, topics like star wars or star trek I feel would be dull. Am I right or am I over thinking this?

  • Is my approach to asking out women good? Or do I need to change it up?

I'm 21 and in college. My usual approach is to be blunt and honest. I usually compliment the woman on her looks and ask her out on a date. But of lately my friends tell me my approach is too bold and that I should make friends with them first. I have no problem with that. But the way my friends go about it, they beat around the bush just to usually find out they're taken or get friend zoned. My brother on the other hand told me that the new term for "dating" is "hanging out". Which to me, sounds childish.

  • Does the anime Eureka Seven get any better?

It looks interesting, but the main character is just so whiny. I keep hoping that he grows a pair and actually starts doing stuff. Am I just wasting my time?

  • What are some recommendations for a replacement vaping pen battery?

I got the head to a regular vaping pen and I want to upgrade to something better if possible that will still attach. I know there are many varieties of models out there, but I have no idea if they re interchangeable or not.

  • What are your guy's personal opinions on the Navy/Airforce? (Experience preferred)?

I'm thinking about joining the reserves in either branch after I get my degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. I know that the military offers tuition to pay for college, but I already have a scholarship that pays for that. What I really want to know is what are the chances of me getting to work with electronics for a living working for either branch? Am I likely guaranteed a job? Also, I do want to settle down in the future; so traveling isn't really huge on my list. How much traveling would I be required to do? I've already talked to a recruiter today and got an idea of how things work. But I really want information from someone who's not paid to sugarcoat situations and tell me how things really are going to go down if I signed up.

  • Why is the Catholic church so strict when it comes to touching?

Me being Christian and my girlfriend being Catholic would go to the back of my car to make out. She would sometimes feel bad about it since she's only supposed to hand hold. I was perfectly fine with just being able to kiss until she had a talk with her priest and she got set straight again on the rules. Now I feel that our relationship has taken 3 steps back, now we're back at hand holding and maybe a peck on the lips if I get lucky. Part of me wants scripture that gives reasons to these restrictions, but even then I don't think that will solve my anger towards the Catholic church at the moment. Call me shallow for missing the ability to kiss my girlfriend, but I feel like I've been grounded.

  • If Christianity and Catholicism are the same then why aren't they under the same roof anymore?

I fully understand the history behind how Protestants formed. And the main differences between it and Catholicism. Since they are the same (base wise). I've been told that ever since Martin Luther came out with his 95 thesis that the Catholic church has corrected itself ever since, (I wouldn't personally know as I'm not part of the Catholic denomination). If that be the case, then I would think then that all the Christians in the world, plus Catholics would all be able to unify all under one roof again. Or is this not a fight of the belief, but one of the title "Christian/Catholic"? I'm still doing my research on this topic, but any extra info would help. Thanks.

  • Will Bellisario ever finish up the Quantum Leap series?

I just got done watching Quantum Leap for the 2nd time now that it's on Netflix and now I'm wondering if he'll ever finish it. And why did they cut Quantum Leap off in the first place? From what I understand it was pretty darn popular especially for a Sci-fi series. So how come it never got a proper ending and will it ever get one?

  • What are differences between the Christian and the Catholic faith?

I'm a Christian and my girlfriend is a Catholic. I know we both believe in the same god and we both read the same book. Also from what I understand Catholics pray to god through Mary and when they do pray they pray with prayer beads. The last 2 things I know is that they pray to saints, (I think), and they don't believe in using condoms. I'm pretty sure there are more differences than that and I'd like to know what they are if there are more.

  • Am I the only one to have this thought?

I've been watching SAO, (sword art online), and to me the idea of it sounds brilliant. I know in the anime the characters want to get out of the game so badly they can't see straight. But to me that sounds like the perfect world, I wouldn't mind dying in a world like that. Heck, the idea doesn't even have to stick around a medieval MMO. Side note: My life is great, nothing to complain about. I just think that a virtual world where you can be anything and do anything is 10X better than reality.

  • Would it work if I cut off the dead portion of the Christmas lights and electrical tape the wall outlet portion to the working side?

I'm working on a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and theoretically I'm thinking that if I cut off the dead portion of the lights and electrical tapped the wall outlet portion to the good working side then it should work. Just so long as I make sure the corresponding cords still connect like power and ground. Any thoughts? I'll take any warnings that you may have, but all I really want to know is "would it work"?

  • Why is time different in space compared to time on Earth?

So today I watched Interstellar and it dealt with the major time factor when space traveling. Which from watching other sci-fi shows this isn't a brand new concept to me. I get it how you need to go light speed or faster in order to reach certain parts of the galaxy or else your pretty much dead by the time you get there. What I don't get is how they could get to a planet, spend 3 hours on it's surface, and come back to their ship to find out that about 21 years had passed on Earth. If I were to go get in my car and go 90 mph straight to a different state, I'd get there faster than if I were to have gone the speed limit, but it's not like the outside world aged by every 2 years ever hour I spent driving.

  • Why did she do this?

I started talking to this woman I met on a dating website for about 2 weeks. We flirted and even started planning a day to go on a date. Then out of the blue she texts me saying that she got the vibe I wasn't really into her and now she's getting back with an abusive ex. I'm not heart broken; but dang, what happened there?

  • Is there a possible career that fits this description?

Requires little to no math, (the most I've been able to do so far is Algebra 2) and is mainly hands on type of work.
