  • Should I ice, or heat my knee?

I have Osgood-Schlatter, I am a horseback rider, so I use my knees a lot. I developed it about 6 years ago, and thought the pain would subside, but it hasn t. With that being said, to help with the pain, should I ice it or put heat on it?

What would you pay for this horse?

Okay, so my mare just turned 9 she's a registered Morgan with fantastic blood lines. She can and will jump anything you put her to. She will ride on the side of the road, can spook, but it's on rare occasions. Will self load, ties great. Has tons of energy and loves to GO! She's 14.3 hands but her papers say 15hands. She is great with kids in a controlled area like an arena. Rides bitless, and absolutely adores trails. Doesn't like to do arena work, but will do it without a fight. Can be ridden tackless, and isnt really mareish. She is almost perfect on the ground, but has had a few problems with picking up her feet in the past. Easy keeper no health issues UTD on all vaccines. Has been shod on her front, but right now she's brefoot. GREAT endurance or competitive trail prospect!! (I'm getting ready to sell her and need honest opinions for pricing her. If I left anything out please let me know)

  • Barrel racing?

Okay, I am an English rider, and I started barrel racing on my friends horses a while back, and I'm pretty good, but I need some tips. My second barrel is sloppy. I do my best to finish the turn, but sometimes I forget to make the full turn if that makes sense? The horse I'm riding also likes to dive into the barrel I fixed that, but now I'm too worried about hitting the barrel, so I try to keep her out and we end up making awful, wide, and sloppy turns. Any tips for me guys?? Also how do you like your stirrups for barrel racing?? I have played around with it, but I always feel like their too long lol. any tips and help is greatly appreciated!!!!

    Eq critique?

Little bit of info on the pic, I'm tall, about 5'10" this horse is massive, over 17hands. And this was my 3rd time jumping him (I think). I was always told I was too tall to have good eq and I would always look awful when I rode. So some advice on how to better my position was would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Problems with mounting my horse?

Okay, so my mare is PERFECT under saddle, no buck, no rear, no nasty faces, nothing! But when I go to get on her she throws her head in the air, and tries to walk away, and acts like she is uncomfortable. I thought it was the saddle so I've changed saddles, that didn't help, I quit using saddles and just ride bareback for about the past 4 weeks, but she still throws her head up, I have even tried mounting her from different sides. She will walk off when I try to mount she has even galloped off. I would have a vet out, but once I'm on she is seriously the best horse ever! Has NEVER done anything while I am on her that makes me think she is uncomfortable or in pain. Should I get her looked at?? Or maybe just work at getting on her more? Or what? (And yes I use a mounting block, but have mounted from the ground and got the same response)

  • My horse eats dirt?

So I was riding around today, and I hopped off while I was on my trails to take some pictures of her. She then put her head down and started eating dirt?? I have been riding for 8years in lessons for 6 and I have never seen a horse do this?? Is this normal?? Should I be worried she is lacking something in her diet? Should I get a vet to check her or something? (Btw she is stalled 24/7 because I don't have my pastures ready yet.)

What would you pay for this horse?

She's a registered Morgan mare, her bloodlines are to die for, sold as a yearling for $22,000 as a halter horse. After that there was a gap not sure what happened during it, at 6 she was broke and then bred. At 8 I started her over jumps. Now at 9 she is an endurance prospect will jump anything you put in front of her. Can be spooky, but no buck and no bolt. Rides without a bit (or bridle) she is about 14.3 hands maybe 15. Has had begginers on her, but requires an intermidiate rider for trails and jumping. Has great feet, has had front shoes, but now she's completely barefoot. So, how much would you pay for her??

  • Best way to get aggression issues out of a dog?

We got my dog from the pound 3 months ago, and did a meet and greet with our other dog. I saw a bit of questionable body language but ignored it because the guy evaluating them said it was fine. Well last night she went after my other dog. Other than trying to be a little bit dominat over Dixie (a really little dog), Bama (she is the shelter dog and 45 pounds) has never shown aggression. Bama is still a puppy, probably around 9 months old, but sadly we don't have a dog that can put her in her place. Any ideas on how to get this dog aggression out of her??

  • Best way to introduce a dog to horses?

We adopted a dog in December. i have a mini horse and I used him to help bama (my dog) get used to being around horses, well one day I was walking bama by the mini and she tried to catch him, I pulled her back, and made sure to keep her away from him after that. Well I want her to go with me and be around my horses, I'm just afraid if she ever catches one she won't let go. She is a pit mix, not that I believe all the stereotypes but I know for sure they do have a strong bite and a catching instinct, so that does bother me a bit. She is about 44 lbs and anywhere from 1 yr-2yrs, and extremely strong. Any suggestions to get her better around horses?
