  • 1998 Mercury Marquis?

SO I have had to give up my Subaru Legacy for this 4.6 loaded marquis boat (haha). It's a definite grandma car.

Any ideas what to do to it to make it better? VIA looks (exterior and interior), some DYI stuff (I know mechanics, and people good with body and wiring), and what kind of speakers would you suggest? It has the original stock with the amazingness of a cassette player (Toby Kieth, all the way.) ;)

    Anywho, tips, suggestions, etc? :)

  • How to remove acoustical sealant from the washer and white clothing?

It's the crap that never seems to dry. It's on two of my white clothes. Why? Because my boyfriend washes his clothes in the washer, and there's some crap in the washer and it transfered to my clothes.

Any tips would be AWESOME!!! I can hand wash, which since he doesn't seem to care to pull off the large globs before cleaning his clothes, I probably will.

  • Curly or straight hair?

My hair is naturally somewhat curly... naturally a blah flat bland dirty blond (first picture) I did dye my hair an auburn color and I don't mind it...

What's your opinion? :) Just for the heck of it! Which is better - curly or straight? What about color?

  • Hey girls!! How to approach boyfriend on...?

Long story short, he let's me use his phone, one time I came across messages between him and his friend basically her saying she's crushing on him (WHILE she was dating another guy, and my boyfriend was with me...) and him saying he felt the same.

I confronted him on that...Ehh....in a bad way... I ended up exploding because I am terrible at confrontations and tried to "ignore" it. But then again it's that "threat" feeling you girls know...

He felt extremely bad, once he found out I saw that, and it hurt him a lot to know he had hurt me.

Now it isn't so bad...But...We haven't REALLY talked about "her". She decided to call last night at midnight, for a ride from him, and he was trying to be cautious with me, asking me if he should give her a ride (which I don't care, not my friend! That and I was tired) which he told her no, because of a few reasons (one of which was ME)

I don't want to feel like a terrible person, I don't want him to HAVE to be cautious like that, but I just don't like the girl, because I know she is a threat. I mean... truthfully she's pretty, more outgoing than I am, and he;s known her longer.

How do I approach him on this? :/ What to avoid saying/doing, and what to say/do? She's broken up with her boyfriend (actually the smart boy broke up with her after she CHEATED on him...) and my bf refuses to accept the fact the girl plays guys (which is actually true...)...

  • Blind dog and stairs?

Okay, I know people will say "carry him down the stairs" and sure, 25 pounds is easy now... Wait until he is 60 pounds! haha.

I have a German Shepherd pup 3 months old, who we were told is blind... We find however he can see shadows and light...or could even be double sighted - however a vet needs to verify.

Anyways, he has mastered the stairs! Mostly... Going up he's got it quite well, he doesn't need us to help anymore... He learned within three stair-attempts. Anyways, down is a different thing.. I know puppies as they are can helter-skelter down the stairs! he definitely is not getting used to the stairs. His bum end would slide down before his front if we let it.

I have been placing a hand between his front legs, or just behind, so he can step down the stairs without falling. As I've said before, carrying will not be an option when he is older.

Is there any tips about blind dogs and stairs? Everything I read said "carry the dog" but I am NOT carrying a german shepherd down the stairs. Thatll end up bad for both of us!

The place we live in, the door is at the bottom of the stairs... The new place, the stairs go UP to the door, but either way we have to get him to go down stairs... Should I get a halter?

  • aquarium heater broke - live plant question?

So, somehow my heater smashed (looked like someone dropped something on it....) without anything in the tank touching, or smacking against it (breeder tank). I had my live plants in there of course... Anubias, java moss, java fern, and I think a sword plant...

Do I need to quarantine? (I am anyways) How long would you suggest? I am cleaning out the tank, with boiling water and vinegar mix (I am allergic to bleach!!) before ever putting anything in there.

  • Scent and Sound training for a blind pup?

There is a pup I have my eye on, an adorable, friendly little 3 and a half month old german shepherd... Now, I've done research, but want a little more input for the heck of it!!!

The current owner (breeder?) says he needs scent and sound training. Any tips, or ideas on that?

  • Caring for a blind puppy?

What are some great tips when dealing with a blind pup? I believe the 3 and a half month old pup is a shepherd, and the owners said he was the runt of the litter and is blind (or mostly blind...that I will check out).

If I decide to take him, I know it would be a big choice and best to know ahead of time of what to do, what not to do, etc. We live in a place where there's an upstairs and downstairs, and I have a very friendly and well socialized dog who would love having a bud.

Any tips, tricks and opinions? :)

  • Community tank idea for 80 gallon?

I have an 80 gallon, and would rather go with a large community tank then a solitary fish, or a few aggressive fish. The tank doesn't have a hood or light, but I will be getting something to keep any brace jumpers from landng high and dry :)

Anyways, the filters are smaller so I use two forties currently. The tank is cycled, for a few months now and has had fish (fish in) but right now houses a pleco I am rehoming (I got him from someone who had the whole 8 inches of pleco in a 15 gallon! ugh!)...

What are some ideas?! :) I have petsmart, PJ'S PETS, LFS stores, BIG AL'S, and a home-run business around me!

  • Pros and Cons of a cockatiel?

I'm deciding on whether or not to get a cockatiel. The one I am looking at is pre-owned, comes with a very good sized cage... He isn't obnoxious, and would have to adjust to new people of course.

I am fairly new to cockatiels, so any tips would be awesome! I'm researching too, of course, and I know each bird is different! So, what are the pros and cons of cockatiels?

  • Pleco has septicemia?

So, I got a pleco for free... He came from a 15 gallon tank with over 30 guppies.... the tank was filthy (she said the pleco cleaned her tank so she didn't have to!) and the poor guy's got septicemia and fin rot, along with some chewed off bits. He's about 8 inches... I have an 80 for the fella. My question is - how do you medicate them? Is it the same amount as you would a fish or half the amount...? I have: Furan 2, Maracyn 2, AQ salt, fungal and parasitic meds which the last two mentioned aren't needed.

  • What can my ex-roommate really pin on me?

I am so livid right now. First off, ex roommate left JANUARY 28th 2012, his name WAS NO LONGER ON THE RENT FORM/LEASE FORM, and he left the following (after he SAID, not wrote or anything that I could HAVE the following) couch, table, chairs, futon, dishes, a few food items, and a sweater that cost him 150.00 he forgot UNDER the couch.

Anyways, his brings his MOM, yes this 20 year old gets his MOMMY to come to my house with him, when I am at work. She enters the house WITHOUT BEING TOLD SHE IS ALLOWED when my bf answers the door. Then they come to MY WORK PLACE. I pointed out he owes me money for the gas and water company, plus his half of the electricity bill.

their stories: she was there when he paid the bills.

Their story to my bf: she's been paying his utlities.

The wench said she talked to the police, and they "said" that I have to give the stuff back (inlcuding the stuff I tossed out?!) after ALMOST 4 MONTHS.

Here they (police station) told my brother it is 30 days, no name on the lease, and has had no contact or attempt to have himself or a relative or friend come and pick up the rest of the crap, when he had a problem with his ex roommate.

What do I do now? Also a side note the 20 year old child refused to give back a house key because "it cost him 4 dollars" and it was "his". I need to be home AND go to the police station! Do the police have a number to call for aqsking questions but not 911 to report problems? I wouldn't mind having one of them come over while I, paranoid, wait at home to get the locks changed.

  • Separation Anxiety in dog?

I know there are other questions and answers to this, but this one is a bit different...

Right now it's mild... to me anyways. My dad has a SEVERE separation anxiety dog, so mine is definitely not as bad lol.

Anyways....He has to be crated, otherwise he will pee/poop everywhere when no one is home.

When just ONE person leaves, he paces back and forth from the door to the balcony, anywhere between 1 and 2 hours! (the most I've seen it. He may do it more I am not sure). Right now my bf left so I have the dog next to me on a leash and he is laying down.

Sometimes he will whine or bark, but usually pants or sulks (especially in the crate).

HE DOESN'T EAT TREATS!! :( That and he is scared of toys (the last home was not a great home...

He is 2 and I would like some pointers to get him to relax when left home. He freaks out more when my bf leaves.

crate training: I know how to, we're working on it.

House training: it may have to do with the anxiety?

But because he does it at night (again the last person who owned him didn't do anything with him except lock him up most of the day aka over 12 hours at a time!) as well, I do have training pads... which...I've never used. :/ Tips on that would be cool.

I looked up anxiety for dogs, and it said give them treats...and toys... but like I said he is scared sh!tless of toys, and won't eat treats. When he eats his food he grabs a mouthful and comes to find you and make sure you aren't running away!! So tips are awesome here, even some pointers for the toys (of which I have scattered in the room so he is familiar with them.)

  • Desensitize a nervous dog?

So the dog I got had come from an abusive home - and despite that he is really great with young kids, and although a little timid at first for people he recovers fast and just loves attention!!

However, he's scared of so many things... Squeaky toys, toys in general (I got him a ball that has no squeaker), rawhide bones, cardboard rolls etc... He's even afraid of SPOONS!!! I gave him peanut butter which he found he likes, but the spoon - such an evil thing ;)

And dare he sees one he'll just avoid it, keeping his distance from it! I've tried when I was playing with him to have the ball in my hand or near us, but he immediately crouches, tail between the legs and slinks off as if he'd been beaten!

Anyone ave ideas what to do? Tips are great :) (and no, he won't eat treats - same with the bones. I doubt he's ever had that kind of stuff...)

  • Dog won't eat his own food!?

I got a shitzu/pomeranian/terrier... The first day he ate his food no problem and now he only wants people food because he was fed people food from my boyfriend... I told him NOT TO FEED HIM. Now the dog expects people food and won't at his own food for two days now.

How can I get him to eat? He won't eat the dog treats either! I know my mom's dog did the same thing and she mixed rice with dog food, each time lessening the rice and giving more dog food until she'd eat properly. Anyone have an idea, or should I use that? (No salt no butter)

  • Is he a scammer for paypal?

Okay, selling my car and asking 2500.00 for it... someone wants it, and since he is overseas (he is getting someone to pick the car up for him to bring to his dad's) he is using paypal to pay...

Now, I got an email :Notification of Instant Payment Received From" and his name, with a transaction I.D. of letters and numbers... it says

"Note:As this transaction was done via our e-mail payments service, any inquiries and necessary information should be sent to us by directly replying to this message, because of the status of this transaction, it has not been passed on to our customer care phone service section, and all inquiries should be directed to this e-mail address as it is the one monitored for your transaction."

    and

"All you have to do is to reply directly to this email with the MTCN and the Sender's Name and Address used when sending the money through Western Union Money Transfer. You will receive a "Confirmation Email" from PayPal Service informing you that your PayPal account has been credited with $2,950.00 CAD as soon as the above information's has been received and Verified by us."

Is this a scam? feels like it... Seems like I have to pay for the 350.00, then get my money. I won't do it that way, nor do I see ANY payment received in my paypal which even for ebay it does show usually right away....

    HE says:

"Note:PayPal won't release the funds until they get the western union

information from you due to the fact that i emailed them about the

excess payment i made. Please kindly email the necessary details to

PayPal :the MTCN which you will be given at the western union after

the $350 has been sent as well as the sender's name and address used

to send the money through western union so they can take necessary

    steps.Await your response. "

  • what kind of dog is this?

    http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-pets-dogs-puppies-for-...

So, I've been looking for a small friendly dog, and came across this fella. Still available, but what I don't see is the "pomeranian" in him other than maybe the paws... I want to say Lhasa, or Shitzu, or something along those lines for a cross but I am unsure. What do you think? :)

(And his name is Gurgee from The Black Cauldron - even awesomer!)

  • Pea method for fish? (time it takes to work)?

Okay, so my one betta is about 2 and some, and recently he got bloated up. I don't over feed, but maybe I over feed due to age? I know my older males have to eat less. :) Anyways, he wouldn't poop, so I gave him 3 teaspoons epsom salt in a 1 gallon hospital. He pooped very VERY little, itty bitty strands... then that was it! 2.5 weeks later here I am confused and frustrated. I've fed him sparingly, since I don't want him to starve, and I don't want him to explode lol.

He is active, begging for food, jumping out of the water for food, flaring, showing off his fins... and he IS the size of a damn PEA! ugh. So, despite the fact I HATE the pea method for fish such as bettas (as they don't eat them naturally but get the nutrients from their prey's stomach contents) and my area lacks frozen daphnia which would have been a better alternative.... I gave him a deshelled piece of pea, and he gobbled it up like no tomorrow.

My question.... How long should it take to kick in? I gave it to him YESTERDAY MORNING. and no sign of size change or poos. :/ Anyone have advice? He isn't suffering obviously... he acts like he always does LOL. Just all puffed up :) Not dropsy, I know what dropsy is, and he hasn't gotten it. It's pure constipation xD

  • Question about head gasket on a '98 subaru legacy 2.5 gt?

Okay, so I'm SO confused!!! The maintanence was pretty good on it from the previous owner, she upkept the breaks and all... But I keep hearing different things... Apparently, to BUY the head gasket (which was the problem, we found out) my dad says it's about 500.00. However, a mechanic's wife, says since it is a 2.5 GT engine it DOESN'T need to be that expensive and you can find the part needed in most shops and even junk yards for around 120.00 to maybe 300 top.

Anyone know much about the 1998 subaru legacy, 2.5 gt? And can clarify? If I know I can start looking for the part myself rather than 500 to buy the damn thing through Subaru, and 200 for shipping - I would! haha :) thanks ;)

(And to those saying get rid of the car... No. It's an awesome car, worth keeping.)
