I have never had a cop drive me home, and I actually like the idea of a cop doing this.

However, I can definitely see complications.

I would imagine that there wouldn't need to be a law if the officer gives them a choice, to be arrested/cited or receive a ride home. At least there is consent in that option.

However, without consent, is there any law that authorizes a police officer to drive a minor home to their parents?

Please cite the law (statute number or name of the law/state) or cite a case that deals with the authority of driving a minor home without consent.

Okay so I bought an Emerson LCD 40 in 1080p TV during Black Friday 2011. It wasn't a very high quality television. The sound and picture were both sub par.

It broke a couple of nights ago. I was watching it and the power went out.

Since it was outside of 90 days, Parts are covered, labor is not. I don't live in a place where they have an authorized repair. So it will cost me 200 dollars to send it in, when the television cost me 250 dollars for black friday (350 ish new).

I can't have it repaired locally without voiding the warranty, so basically I have no warranty for this product.

I opened it up and found the problem. Putting a temporary connect where the broken fuse was, and plugging it in, I found the short to be in the corner of the motherboard. There are no physical indications such as a darkened spot on the board or anything like that.

The part that sparked was either one of two pieces on the board. The redish brown component that looks like it may be a capacitor (its on the same side as the fuse, but on the opposite corner). or the white box component next to it.

I am trying to find out how to replace one or both of these parts and replacing the fuse. If I can find the part numbers I could order them and resolder them onto the board. It is possible the problem isn't with the component itself but with the connection, if so then the new part won't be necessary. However, the part is going to be cheap, so I would rather be safe and spend the few bucks.

The company won't give me a repair manual, and even the owners manual on their site won't download for me. (I have tried downloading other manuals from the site and they worked, just not this specific one.).

If anyone has knowledge of this, please let me know.
