  • Girls- If I wuss out in person, is a letter or a friend better?

There's a girl I like pretty intensely and want to start dating. I am gonna try to tell her how I feel in person, but if I wuss out, is it better to write her a letter OR to let one of my friends talk to her for me? I know to some degree it depends on the friend and the letter, and they're both not ideal. But if I really can't work up the courage in person, which is better?

  • Mobile phone reception and texting?

If I send a text message to someone, while THEY are in a bad reception area (like a certain room that has little to no reception), will the message be delivered when they get back into an area with reception, or will the message just not be delivered? Or does it depend?

  • Muslims- Where in the Quran does it say Islam is universal? Which sura should I look in?

I am reading the Quran currently, but haven't seen this yet. Some people say that the Prophet Muhammad was only trying to create a religion for the Arabs and never intended for Islam to become a world religion (although no Muslim I know has ever agreed with this viewpoint). But I realize, I don't actually know where in the Quran it says the Book is for everyone. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

  • Free legal representation to leave the Mormon church?

I sent in a letter of resignation to have my name removed in October 2007. It was ignored, but I settled for being on the "do not contact list". They even broke that promise, so I sent in another letter of resignation threatening to seek legal recourse if they did not remove my name from their records. Worst case, I may just represent myself, but I am only a student. Is there any out there who would represent a case like this free of charge?

  • for girls- how exactly should i go from 'dating' to 'relationship'?

There's a girl I've known for about a year now, but we haven't hung out much until recently. I am getting the impression she is interested, and hanging out with her more- just the two of us. But I'm not at the point where I can say she's a 'girlfriend'. So really I have a few questions- first, should it kind of 'happen by itself' or is there no way around those 'talks'? And at what point will I be able to make that transition- are there certain things to look for? Or is it just kind of 'follow your gut'?

  • Most authentic way to see Native Canadian culture in Vancouver?

I know there is the "Sea Island Indian Reserve 3" near the airport and some stuff at the Capilano suspension bridge (according to the books I've read) but what are the best ways to see or experience the indigenous cultures of the Pacific Northwest if I have a weekend in Vancouver?

  • Girls- why the long wait for a reply with everything?

I want a woman's perspective- why do girls take so damn long to respond to texts and emails? I know there are different possibilities, but what are the main ones? Are a lot just away from their phones for hours at a time, or just feel like not writing back right away or what?

  • that one girl who still makes me nervous- how do i get rid of the anxiety?

I'm usually pretty cool and calm around girls, I usually don't think about them except when I see them- except for one. I don't see her much but, even though i try hard, i still cannot-literally cannot- stop thinking about her (cliche but true). I'm terrified with this girl- my heart starts pounding when I talk to her or even think of calling her and all kinds of fears come to mind. I don't even know her super-well but somehow this one girl has an effect on me that no other girl does and I don't want anyone to have this effect on me. I don't want to do the 'tell her how you feel' approach because it's too much and also I doubt it would work. How can I get rid of this horrible anxiety? One note- I am also still a virgin (I grew up in a real religious family and was kind of a late bloomer) and wonder if losing this will help me be less nervous.

  • Religious people and dating?

Do you think dating and, in some cases, people's social skills in general are damaged by being very religious, too religious? Have you seen it happen before?

  • Complicated situation- what approach do I take?

There's this girl I like who I'm all but positive feels the same way (she's done everything short of saying so), but she has a boyfriend right now (she's pointed out that she's with him "right now", adding those two words when she talks about him). Their relationship isn't going well, and has only been going on for a few weeks, but she still is indecisive and afraid to break up with him. Anybody else had to deal with this before? Any thoughts?

  • New Yorkers! Tell me about housing...?

I'm thinking of moving to NYC but I need to know what the cheapest housing is. Which borough(s) are cheapest, what kind of options are available? I'm not looking for much, just a decent place to sleep, shower, eat and store my stuff.

  • Girls- your thoughts if a guy told you you were his first kiss?

I'm in college and for a number of reasons (including growing up in a religious and mildly quirky family, having a hard time socially until after high school was over, as well as a lack of confidence until relatively recently), I'm stuck as a virgin and haven't even kissed a girl yet. Thankfully I manage to avoid these issues pretty well in conversation and only a few of my friends know my story. I finally found a girl who I actually like as a person, who I really want to kiss and who I think likes me enough to respond well. (She's had a number of guys who she thought were just her friends kiss her unexpectedly, but I already told her point-blank I'm interested.) My question is- if a guy kissed you and then added that you were the first girl he'd ever kissed, what would be going through your head? How would you react? Especially if it came as a surprise....

  • reassuring a girl about her appearance- what are your thoughts?

There's a girl i'm currently quasi-dating (grey area) who I am really attracted to both physically and also to her personality. We spend a good deal of time together and she keeps asking "Does this make me look fat? I'm so fat... " I always say something along the lines of "Don't be silly, you have a great figure- stop thinking that way". Always some variation of her complaining and me reassuring her she has nothing to worry about. Thing is, she was at one time very heavy and I myself was also at that age. So- this question is mostly directed to women- what can a guy do to really reassure a girl like that? Should I be bolder and more specific in my compliments ("i love such-and-such feature"for example)? Should I just keep doing what I'm doing? Is there any specific thing a guy has said to you that was just amazing? Is there a message in that that I'm not getting? Share your thoughts with me.
