  • What would happen to this kid who gets beat up?

In a story I'm writing, one teenager baits another student a few too many times... as a result, he gets jumped one evening, held down, and punched in the face a few times. Considering his attacker hasn't fought anyone before and is fourteen, but that the victim is being held prone, how extensive would the damage be? Would he chip a tooth, break a nose, or just get a few tender bruises?

Thanks in advance for the help! I strive for accuracy in all my writing.

  • Would it be rude to not follow through on my promise?

Last November, my friends and I participated in NanoWrimo, a national event where you write a novel in 30 days. We all won, good times were had by all, and now we have copies of our own novels sitting by our desks.

Here's the problem. My younger friend whom I introduced to NanoWrimo this year recently lent me her novel, which I promised to read. The problem? It's HORRIBLE. The plot is snail's pace, the writing is mostly summary and exposition, and her three main characters are utterly detestable. The last thing I want to do is actually read the bloody thing, but each time I see her she asks, "so have you started my book?"

I don't want to disappoint her; she's a sweet gal. But I don't think I have it in me to stomach this novel, much less tell her to her face that I enjoyed it.

    What should I do?

  • How can I change the indentations on an entire document in Word?

I have a 300+ page document in Microsoft Word (using Apple, though) and I want to change the indentation at the beginning of each paragraph to be less indented. Is there any way to do this short of going through and dragging each indent to the spot I want it at?

  • Where can I go to use my laptop in the middle of the night?

Are there any places that are open at ridiculous hours of the night that would allow me to sit and work at my laptop?

I live in Tucson, AZ if that helps.

  • Why does God need us to worship him?

God is not jealous; He has no one to be jealous of. He loves us, does He not? So why does He demand that we worship Him? The people who don't accept Him or turn away from Him are thrown into the pits of Hell, left to suffer. In some of the more devout branches, even missing a day of church is enough to get your soul damned for eternity.

It's bizarre- I just can't figure it out. If He is truly all-knowing, then wouldn't He know we love him, without requiring quaint little rituals like mass or church?
