  • What is your experience if you played Guild Wars 2?

I don't know what it is about Guild Wars 2 but I feel very lonely playing it.

I tried playing it twice already and could not get to the point of talking to and getting to know people.

In the past I have played WoW and EVe online. In those games the fact people were talking in general chat gave a sense of the world being populated. It gave a chance to get into conversations and get to know people. When playing GW2, the only thing I ever see in the chat is LFG for dungeons. People in the world around me run around killing things but seem to make no effort to talk to one another. The only interactions I had with other players was when I thanked them for helping with a strong mob and that normally ended with a short "np" and them running away to do their own thing.

Playing WoW twice, I got to know people and got involved with others within a few hours. In Eve online it took a while longer, but in GW2 it feels completely different.

Has anyone else experienced something similar or is it just my realm being sucky? I play on desolation EU.

  • Why do Arab countries play a political game that puts other's lives in danger?

This was a bold claim. I am talking about a UN resolution proposed by Israel which is concerned with agricultural technologies in developing and third world countries, and the need for educating local farmers about sustainable and technologically advanced farming. This includes free flow of information between member states and government programs for education.

The vote was passed with 118 in favor and 29 abstentions.

It is strangely disturbing that 18 of the abstentions are Arab countries, 6 are non-Arab but Muslim countries and 5 are non-Muslim African countries.

This is obviously part of a political game in which Muslim countries systematically vote against any Israeli proposal regardless of its content. How can such actions not be harshly condemned? a proposal aimed at minimizing poverty and creating food security and technological development in agriculture is not voted positively due to the entity proposing, with complete disregard to the implications.

  • Logic behind the creation of Adam and Eve.?

If god created the first man before he ever thought about creating the woman and only created the woman because the first man was lonely, then why did god create the first man with a penis to begin with?

  • Is Israel's blockade really a crime against humanity?

It has been drilled that Israel's blockade on Gaza is a crime against humanity because it results in a collective punishment on Gazans.

If that is the case, aren't the sanctions against Iran and North Korea also crimes against humanity? what about the boycott of Israeli goods by all sorts of self professed organizations for peace? A boycott on all goods from a country also effects the population of that country, resulting in a crime against humanity, right?

  • What will be the reaction of Iran to an Israeli attack?

If Israel attacked Iran's nuclear sites does it give Iran the legitimacy to bomb Israel's civilian population?

If not, what would be the reaction of Iran to such an attack by Israel?

  • Can't play Battlefield 3 online?

After installing the game I installed the updates through Origin, then played and finished the single player. When I wanted to play online I went to the server browser and when I tried to join either a random match or a specific server the game manager told I need to update. When I click on 'update' I'm sent to Origin again, which claims the game is up to date. So now I'm stuck with Origin telling me the game is updated and ready to play, and the online browser telling me I cannot play until I update the game.

Is anyone else encountering this problem, how do you fix it?

  • Why are the same excuses used over and over in the argument against Israel?

Why do users like michael and wilbert constantly drill the same excuse that in 2008 Israel broke the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas as an answer to every question?

It was recorded that in 2008 Israel shot and killed 6 tunnelers who were digging a tunnel under the border between Gaza and Israel. Hamas used the ceasefire in order to dig a tunnel under the border. Is fire not justified in such a case?

Even under ceasefire it is not accepted for militants to cross the border. If under a ceasefire condition Israeli soldiers were to go into the Gaza strip and shot by Hamas, would you condemn Hamas for breaking the ceasefire, or blame Israel for daring to carry out an act of aggression against Gaza?

The only other tunnel dug under the border between Israel and Gaza was used in order to attack an Israeli position within Israel and kidnap a soldier. Why should Israel let that happen again?

  • Are there rules in the media that prevent reporting things that are factually not true?

My example is this. Gilad Shalit is reported by media such as PressTV, al manar and al Jazeera to have been captured after infiltrating into the Gaza strip. At the same time they claim the prisoners released by Israel are innocent and stood no trial and had no conviction.

How can such a farce be? Arent there legalities regarding reporting of information? are news agencies not held accountable to the information they provide?

  • What do the Palestinians want as a solution?

Seriously, I'm not trying to troll here.

Abbas went to the UN to seek support in world recognition of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders. He repeatedly said the Palestinians will not go to another intifada and strongly support non violent demonstration. At the same time, Hanyeh went to a convention in Iran called "the 5th international conference on Palestinian intifada" officially supporting violent struggle. Hanyeh then claimed the Palestinians will not give away an inch of all of Palesitne, which is the reference of everything Israel consists of.

Isn't this the worst unity government? they are singing completely different tunes.

  • What does the Egyptian community think about Ilan Grapel the 'spy'?

Since it was reported today by Al Hayat and Ynet that Ilan Grapel is to be released on Tuesday and the Egyptian authorities who hold him now say that his actions cannot amount to being a spy and that he is released due to an illness, what does the Egyptian community think about this?

Is it Zionist pressure or do you think he was really not a spy?

  • What does the vote for Palestine in the UN mean?

When the Palestinians are asking for recognition of the state of Palestine, does that mean every country that supports the bid simply votes yes for the idea of a Palestinian state, or does it mean every country that votes yes supports the Palestinian state within 1949 - post Arab Israeli war ceasefire lines as permanent borders and with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine?

  • How come Israel is considered an apartheid state by some while Palestine gets full support?

Many people, including some posters on this forum, use the phrase “Israel is an Apartheid state” like a mantra without ever admitting that the proposed Palestinian state is specifically designed to be one.

I’d like someone to explain the twisted logic whereby one country that allows minorities to become Members of Parliament, supreme judges, ambassadors, consuls, senior police and army officers, get a university education at subsidized rates and be eligible for all the same social benefits as the majority can be branded an “Apartheid state”, while its neighbor, where even the sale of land to a Jew is a capital offense, is not considered an “Apartheid state”.

Somehow, just the idea of a Jewish state seems to raise the hackles of a lot of people—but the same people are quite all right with the fact that there are 57 self-declared “Islamic states” in the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the United Nations—some of them total theocracies, like Iran or Saudi Arabia.

Mahmoud Abbas’ demands for a “Jew-free” Palestinian state while demanding the right to flood Israel with “returning [third- and fourth-generation] refugees”—thereby also washing his hands of his own government’s responsibility for them and dumping it on Israel

  • How fast is the Palestinian population growing?

Some basic research brought up some figures. In 1922 there were 590,390 Arabs in Palestine under the British Mandate. Today there are 11,492,000 Palestinians worldwide. This is an increase of approximately 1,845% over those 89 years.

The world population 100 years ago was around 2 billion. Today it stands at around 6 billion. This is an increase of 200% over 100 years.

How can the Palestinian population grow so dramatically over such a short time?

sourced from wikipedia's Palestinian people, 1922 census, world population, population growth rate.

  • What are good first person shooters for playing online?

I tried playing Medal of Honor and Modern Warfare 2, but they are full of cheaters to the point that im not having fun at all. Not to mention there is hardly playing those anymore, I could only find 4 populated servers for MOH and 3 of them had people scoring 40+ kills to ~2 deaths.

Are there any games out there that don't have so many cheaters on them but also have some Single Player playability?

  • Why are Jews not allowed to live in Jordan?

Under article 2 of the Jordanian nationality law:

"The following shall be deemed to be Jordanian nationals... Any person who, not being Jewish, possessed Palestinian nationality before 15 May 1948 and was a regular resident in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan between 20 December 1949 and 16 February 1954"

    Why is that?

  • Why does Jerusalem have to be the capital of a Palestinian state?

So the Palestinians want a state, thats ok. But I don't understand why the official Palestinian demand for Jerusalem to be the capital of Palestine.

We all know that Palestine was never a state in history, there were Arabs living there. It is arguable whether those Arabs saw themselves as nationally Palestinian or as something different. But since the state of Palestine is going to be constituted for the first time in history, why does Jerusalem have to be its capital?

From what I read, during ottoman rule over Palestine the capital of the region was in Ramleh. The current seat of government of the PA is in Ramallah.

Does the Palestinian claim to Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital lie in the Al Aqsa mosque and the dome of the rock, or is there another reason for this claim?

  • Cannot connect to wireless network, windows 7?

Windows installed some updates during the night and restarted the computer. This morning the wireless wasn't working anymore. I to do a system restore but there are no restore points to choose from.

The drivers are all up to date, I checked and rechecked and reinstalled them anyway.

The router has no encryption so there shouldn't be any problems with detecting the network.

When the ethernet cable is plugged in, the wireless is detected and able to connect.

When I plug out the ethernet cable, the wireless disconnects as well. The network is detected but 'Windows was unable to connect to network'.

After about a minute the wireless network disappears and 'no networks are detected'

The router is working and the wireless is picked up by another computer, it is not a router problem.

There are no viruses and I disabled the firewall, but still nothing.

The system is running windows 7.

  • Why does microsoft office cost differently to download from different countries?

I live in New Zealand and wanted to download microsoft office 2010. I went to the Microsoft store website and it shows to have different prices if purchased from different countries which doesn't make sense to me.

If I download it from the US it will cost me $150US, If I download it from New Zealand it will cost me $250NZ.

The exchange rate at the moment for $150US is $185NZ, which is not even close to the 250 they want.

Considering there is no marketing, shipping, handling, retailing or any other costs involving the download, why is the massive difference in price?

  • I can only connect to the wireless network when the ethernet cable is plugged in?

Hello, My problem is as follows:

I had to install a new hard drive due to a failure in the last one. I installed and updated all of the drivers including the router in question.

My problem now is that after the computer has started, it does not recognize any wireless networks available, only after I plug in the Ethernet cable, the wireless shows up as well. I am then able to connect to the internet.

When I unplug the Ethernet cable, the wireless disconnects as well, but this time the computer does recognize the network as available. When try to connect to the network wirelessly, I receive an error that windows was unable to connect to the network.

After about 3 minutes the wireless network may or may not be recognized anymore until the next time I plug in the Ethernet cable, in which case the wireless will again connect just fine.

On my last hard drive the same router was working and never gave me trouble.

Does anyone know what to do or has encountered this problem?
