  • Big Berkey Water Filter Ad Phone Number Confusion?

There is an advertiser on some radio shows, Big Berkey Water Filters, and they have a toll-free number, not sure of the area code, but the exchange is 99-BERKEY. Yet they also have ads running at the same time with a different number ending with 8653 or something like that. My question is why use a vanilla number like the latter when you have "99 BERKEY" that just rolls off the tongue?

  • Spotify Banner Ads On Y! Answers: Aren't They The Worst?

Has anyone noticed that some pages on Y! Answers, particularly in the E&M section, takes a loooong time to load because of a series of animated banner ads for Spotify? It always takes like 10-15 seconds to load the page only to give us stupid pitches like "music to help you seal the deal" (is that even a guy and a girl in that ad?). I see they're working in new ads featuring Daft Punk and Lady Antebellum which aren't as animated and thus take up less computer space, but I hope that means they're phasing out the old animated ones.

  • Anyone tired of Progressive ads yet?

Bad enough we have to see Flo's mug on commercials on TV and banner ads all over the Internet, but have you heard some of the many campaigns Progressive has going on the radio? In one series of ads, we have Flo singing - yes, singing! I'll take the 1-877-Kars-4-Kids radio ads over Flo any day! There's also another set of ads where Flo's character is in the middle of real life tasks. "Okay, Flo, so the key to safe pest removal is..." (click) There's my idea of pest removal!

  • Why does Keith Olbermann now call Bill O'Reilly "Skeezix"?

Recently, I've noticed that on his MSNBC program "Countdown," Keith Olbermann, who used to refer to Bill O'Reilly, a commentator on rival cable news network Fox News Channel, as "Bill-O The Clown," is now referring to him as "Skeezix" - and only "Skeezix". Olbermann hasn't even used the name "Bill" in talking about him.

Incidentally, over the past couple of weeks, I've also noticed that the parent company of MSNBC, GE - which O'Reilly regularly lambasts on his program - is now an advertiser on Fox News Channel shows, most notably, "The O'Reilly Factor". Is GE's advertising buy on Fox News presenting a sort of conflict of interest for Olbermann, as it may be a contributing factor (no pun intended) to him now referring to his primetime cable news arch-nemesis by invoking the name of a character from the "Gasoline Alley" comic strip?
