Anyone think Chrissy Amphlett's death should've got more coverage than that of Annette Funicello?

Both of them struggled with MS.

When Annette died I soon thought of Chrissy. Unfortunately Chrissy is mainly known just in Australia. I agree she deserved more and they should have done better overseas. She had everything - looks, talent, a great voice and strong image. She could've run rings around Madonna. Maybe the world just wasn't ready for her - many thought she was crazy and scary - but she will never be forgotten in Australia.

    In Australia?

Annette Funicello was known mostly to Australians who are now over 50 Yo, she was not a huge name here and the Mickey Mouse club did not air for very long past the late 60's early 70's

On the other hand Chrissy was rock and roll royalty in Australia descended from another great pioneer rock and roller " Little Pattie". Although both were big acts here I doubt the US or even Britain have heard of them.

Frankly I think the reports in Australia were in context and balanced for the audience they were aimed at.

From my own POV I will miss them both, Annette and Chrissie were both major talents in their own right.

News coverage tends to very much favor the united states unfortunately. Annette Funicello was well known in the United States and hence here coverage was more pervasive.

That said no, I do not think she should have gotten more coverage. I think that both of them should have been given equal coverage.

Regardless, any coverage that heightens awareness of the ravages of the autoimmune condition that is Multiple Sclerosis, is good coverage. Society is far too unaware about the damage and effects of this condition.

who? I know the second (very recognizable). the first is just a name to me. Perhaps that is the answer to your question, that people are as ignorant as I am?
