Uncle Carl

Assuming I have two years of construction experience (vinyl siding plus small jobs) buy zero experience in plumbing. If I watch a few tutorials, should that be enough? The pipe under my toilet is gushing. We have to turn the water on and off from outside until we fix it.

A Poem

Why have I never written such a tale

I guess it never really sparked my need.

You never think to tell your life

With a pen or some ink over candlelight.

Since I was young, I knew that I'd glean

A little wisdom from everyone I ever meet.

I'd synthesize their life, their loves, their losses

Into a perfect amalgam of stews and sauces.

So here my swagger comes into these penned words,

You never really know how this poem could twist and turn.

But as soon as I get my rhythm with this thing

I'll fire cannons like David's sling.

This world hasn't actually heard me speak

There's a lion in here, and it's more than meek.

I've told my friends that I'll change the world.

You can all stand back and watch it unfurl.

Boss says, "I don't want to hear any excuses. " I say, "I'm giving you reasons something didn't get done, and you're hearing excuses. "

I had a tooth pulled, and don't want to go through that again. I decided to start brushing more than twice a day. They say that you can overdo it. How many times a day, and how long is too much? I went with three times a day, with about 2 minutes on each brush/floss.

I'll post something awesome, that someone else got between 20 and 40 likes. But when I post it, no one likes it at all. This will continue for about 10-15 posts before I get one like on something, maybe three and one share. What's going on here?

I thought I knew this, but lately, I'm seeing it used in ways that I don't understand. Anyone want to clear this up for me?

I heard someone say that there are only two thought systems that exist that would yield zero conflict for the thinker. Although they sound absurd, here they are:

A. God exists and the world does not.

B. The world exists and God does not.

What do you think about this? (Not the absurdity of the thoughts.) (Sorry for the re-post. I wanted a serious answer.)
