what mental health issue is this?
My landlady's daughter has just threatened me with a knife saying "get out get out" about 200 times. The landlady has come home and is dealing with it.
She's been staying here a few weeks and although I haven't asked any questions Ive noticed she doesn't see her child whose only 18-24 months old and has in the past split up with her boyfriend only to get back together with him again.
When she was talking to me her eyes were glazed over and she wasnt listening to what I was saying, is this some kind of Paranoid Schizophrenia?
2 AnswersMental Health6 years agoany kind of healthy (or at least not really unhealthy) coke/pepsi?
i like brandy and coke, but the stuffs so bad for you, i hear coke zero etc are just as bad but in different ways.
Is there any version that's OK to drink? Can anyone explain why these 0 sugar versions are being criticised for being as bad or worse?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness7 years agoHow do solicitors complain about inappropriate questions in police interviews?
Firstly I assume they can complain?
But what is their entitlement in this regard or the procedure? Do they request the interview to be paused and complain to the custody officer?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoWhat can a solicitor do if they feel their client is asked an inappropriate question in a police interview? (UK)?
They can obviously advise their client not to answer the question but do they have any other powers that they can use, such as bringing the interview to a close etc?
I don't think so myself but my answer for a course I am doing keeps getting sent back as incomplete and I can't find the info in the resource materials we have been given so I thought I'd ask the community, any help appreciated.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoDefending a food poisoning claim (UK)?
A family member has had a letter from a solicitor alleging that their client suffered food poisoning from their take-away.
I honestly think the claim is spurious, the claimant advised whilst in the shop that they had has food poisoning recently from a local Chinese take-away already and for some reason have appointed a solicitor in Leeds hundreds of miles away from the take-away's location in Somerset despite the fact the the claimant lives just 3 miles away from the take-away itself. Surely it would be best to appoint a local solicitor?
My auntie and uncle who run the take-away are trained, my uncle was in the catering corp of the army, they have never had a case of food poisoning before or since, nor have any other customers brought up any issue of food purchase on that particular night. Around 50 customer orders were served that night and the order in question was a simple Chinese meal (the take-away provides multiple food options)
As of yet no details of settlement requests have been made, that is to follow apparently.
My questions are:
- Is this sort of thing defendable?
- Do we have a right to request records of medical treatment sought or obtained by the claimant?
- Is there a database somewhere that we can use to cross-reference the solicitor and the claimant to check for evidence of scams/multiple claims?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

It is incorrect, it should be "take out the trash".

1 AnswerVideo & Online Games7 years agomet police beep test query?
Hi, I have my physical with the met in a few weeks, i know you have to get to level 5.4 on the beep test and it's a 15m shuttle.
Ive been running for a few months in preparation and normally do 6 min runs with 90 second walking rest and repeat that 5 times. Do you think this will be sufficiently fit? I've tried finding videos online but they're all 20 metres which i presume has longer beeps.
I did download an MP3 of the test but I think (hope) I paced it out wrong because when i went straight to level 5 just to see how it is I needed to nearly sprint to keep up whereas I have read a lot of people saying it's too easy and barely a jog! Any links to a 15 metre vid or help/advice would be appreciated.
8 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police7 years agoWhy does my Muslim friend drink, smoke and have casual sex?
I'm all for it myself (atheist here) but my Somali-born practising Muslim who fasts during Ramadan etc lives his life like a godless western heathen.
Again I wholeheartedly approve but I was wondering whether there are any excuses or "types" of Islam that are OK with this? Or is he just bending things to suit himself? The fact that he fasts etc and quotes things in Arabic then says there approximate translation in English would seem to rule him out as a one of those spiritual Muslims that other Muslims don't like (I forget their name)
Any non- "all be praised!" explanations out there?
Also is is Muslim or Moslem? I demand clarification.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agocan my tenants use as much electricity as they want/.?
i include elec/gas in the rent for the individual tenants, I am a live in landlord.
ive just had a bill through for £745 for gas/elec, this is just for 2 months between 25/12-25/02!
I know it's in the contract that it's included but are landlords in the UK protected from overzealous use? I suspect its one girl whos got a personal convection heater and liberally puts hot water and heating on all the time.
If there's no protection what stopping someone from plugging in 20 heaters and running them 24/365? surely there must be some kind of inferred fair use that can be defended in court if needed, shes refusing to contribute anything to the rent.
13 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years agoMental health nurse course or psychology course?
Hi all,
I have an interview for an access course to mental health nursing soon, I've been really thinking about what I want and don't want in a job and I feel I may be better suited to Psychology, perhaps through private practise.
I think I would prefer 1-2-1 sessions with people where I can go through their issues, I've read (and it may be wrong) that a lot of mental health nursing (at least in the UK where I live) is sitting in wards waiting for patients to "kick off" and restraining them etc, I have no interest in that I prefer to talk to people who want to get better.
I am also really interested in the cerebral element of the job, understanding what's going on in the brain etc for people with various psychological ailments.
Does anyone know more about this or has/have worked in either of these roles and can expand a bit for me please?

2 AnswersMental Health7 years agoWhat exercise/activity may be right for me?
So I've tried running, kick boxing, gym, HIIT & weight lifting. I find all of them either boring or frustrating and don't stick at them.
Can anyone point me in the direction of something different that I may find engaging.
Please take into account I live in London, am 27, not obese but overweight and don't particularly like being hot/sweaty/tired - I'm not exactly a natural athlete.
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness7 years agoHow to become a nurse practitioner in the UK?
I would like to train to be an NP specialising in mental health patients, my question is whats the most direct way to accomplish this? I get lots of info on google searches but some of it contradicts what others say so I was wondering if someone with experience could clarify please.
Some sub-questions:
- do you have to work in a hospital as a ward nurse first then specialise or can you go straight into NP mental health work?
- what is the quickest route in?

1 AnswerClassical8 years agoHow can I stop an auto payment set up through online subscription?
I joined an online dating website, they only had a 3 month subscription as the minimum term, im now starting to think that the majority of people on there havent paid for membership which means they cannot message me back, one girl messaged me to tell me that she couldnt read my message as she wasnt a premium member so we essentially cannot communicate!
If this was a one month thing i'd be fine with it but they have a 3 month minimum subscription with conditions that if you "use the service" and by that I mean message someone you cannot get a refund. I think its unfair and ridiculous to ask someone to pay for 3 months of service they cannot use. Is there a way I can block them from taking money from my account short of shutting it down?
