I rent a master bedroom for me and my gf under my name only in SF last year and I got a job in Chicago recently. Now only my girlfriend is living there now. we are checking out now. Landlord(do not want to give me back the rent) living with us told me to come back to get deposit. its $600 but the round trip at weekend btw SFO and ORD is $450+plus airport parking fee. Can I sign or write anything attached to rent agreement to let my girlfriend collect it? Thanks

I paid monthly fee and they told me they negotiate with creditor for me,I only need to pay 40%-50% of my total debt, my credit score would be going down but rise finally after paying off all debt. is that true? I heard that if the bank report my debt to any three of credit report companies, it will stay there up to 7 years even if I pay off. What should I do? I already enrolled. can I just leave it alone even do not pay a penny for that. or should I quit the plan in debts settlement company? thanks.

I rent an apartment with my gf for 1 year. we are both International students. we did not find a job before visa expired. so we had to leave U.S. Now we came back for PHD and are looking for place to stay. but I found that previous apartment company report to credit company that I owe them $6000. I called that apartment company explaining that it was illegal to stay in US at that time but they ignored me. How could I pay less money to repair my credit score? $6000 is too much, I'd like to pay $2000 to remove it.
