?

I saw a question about taps and dies very recently, and the answers given were good. Just for fun though, can anyone tell me the difference between a bolt and a screw, and at what size they differentiate between the two? Then, explain in terms of use, how each one is different from the other. Don't go getting all cocky here, it's not as easy as you might think. I'll leave it up for 24 hours and see how many answers come in, then award the points (big deal, but what else is there?) to the best and most complete answer. I hope this gets a few minds working in overdrive. {grin}

A recently resolved question was as follows. "Why can't Fiber-optic wires be used instead of copper for house-hold appliances?" The *best answer* was, in my mind, correctly attributed, but I was enthralled at something I found and linked to in the post and wanted to share it again for those that may have missed the link. VERY interesting stuff!!

In no way am I saying the answer given was incorrect. It was *spot on*, but this bit of information shows where we *might* be headed in the future.

Nope. This isn't a question. I'm simply saying goodbye to those who answer questions based on knowledge and fact. So why am I leaving? Because I'm fed up with seeing *best answers* that are not only not *best* but many times TOTALLY wrong. Seemed like a good place to help folks with problems originally, but bad answers, wrong answers, and not being able to correct them has led me to not only leave, but be very leary of anything that leads here as some sort of reliable answer site. There ARE some good folks here with good knowledge bases, but unfortunately, there are some VERY bad answers being given as well, so I'm headed elsewhere.
