Goodbye to those who are here to help, and have the knowledge to do so.?

Nope. This isn't a question. I'm simply saying goodbye to those who answer questions based on knowledge and fact. So why am I leaving? Because I'm fed up with seeing *best answers* that are not only not *best* but many times TOTALLY wrong. Seemed like a good place to help folks with problems originally, but bad answers, wrong answers, and not being able to correct them has led me to not only leave, but be very leary of anything that leads here as some sort of reliable answer site. There ARE some good folks here with good knowledge bases, but unfortunately, there are some VERY bad answers being given as well, so I'm headed elsewhere.

I know the feeling. I, too, am frustrated, but by the "teenie-boppers" who are out of school and apparently have no other activity, other than that of running rampant over "Answers". Some of them even write that they are 12-yrs-old or younger.

This is not what you are writing about, I understand, but I'm equally angry at the blatantly abusive and vulgar questions they pose, as well as showing their stupidity and lack of skill in the English language.

Their comments take up my precious hours I can allot to this site, and hopefully, when school starts some of it will end. **** luck, and many of us also have your opinion of the Best Answers and improper responses.

Ditto; but at least the adult sections (Cars&, Health, Home&) are usually more mature than some of the other sections. I think Y!A did us a disservice when they took away our ability to give a question a thumbs down (as a way to motivate better, more proper questions).

Some "Best Answers" are given by the few people to take the time to go through 4+ day old questions and rate them. Does not seem to be a good method to me, either; even though I am sure some of them try to be conscientious.

I have to say I am totally in agreement with you Alan. I wonder sometimes just who it is that is voting for the best answers.Very often they obviously have absolutely no idea what they are voting for as the 'best answer' bears no resemblance to the question asked. As to the rash of thumbs down on very good answers one does have to wonder. All the best for wherever you go.

Why would you you want to leave now? I just got here! Please at least say a few things before you leave since it is rude to leave without permission, right?
