  • Is there a rule of civil procedure in Idaho for making a motion to clarify on order?

We are seeking clarification from a judge after receiving an order which awards a credit for child support paid, but which does not state how much credit, or how it can be applied. Child support receipting will not award the credit without this clarification. I was told by the clerk that we could file the motion, but I can't find a rule of civil procedure for submitting this kind of motion.

  • In Idaho - can a person submit a motion on behalf of another, using a simple power of attorney?

I have a simple power of attorney for my husband, who granted me with this to help take care of his legal matters (civil - custody and support) while he is busy with work and school during vocational rehab.

Can I file a motion on his behalf with this power of attorney - without actually being an attorney (to be attached to an affidavit by himself? Or would he himself have to file the actual motion pro se as well?

  • Do you have to appear in court after making a motion for clarification in Idaho?

We are seeking clarification from a judge after receiving an order which awards a credit for child support paid, but which does not state how much credit, or how it can be applied. Child support receipting will not award the credit without this clarification, but we live 8 hrs from the courthouse. So I was wondering - would we have to travel and appear in court if we make this motion for clarification?

(this will be filed in Idaho)

  • Can an order of expungement be served on an indivual person as well as on agencies?

Years ago, my husband was arrested on false charges - from accusations that came from his former wife and her romantic partner. After the divorce was final, he was fully acquitted of the charges, but his ex-wife still uses the arrest against him to discredit him.

She is actively using this information against him to interfere with their custody review and to try to get him kicked out of school. She has given the information to his children's doctors, teachers, and counselors.

We are working on a defamation case separately from the current custody case, but I was wondering - if we get an order of expungement to serve to all the agencies that deal with, or have received the arrest record - would this order be able to legally obligate her to stop talking about the arrest?

Would it strengthen a defamation case, if she were to talk about it after officially being served with an order of expungement?

  • Question for Optometrists - How heavy a prescription for kids' first glasses?

If a kid has never needed glasses before, but has an exam at age 10 and ends up with a prescription for only +0.50 in one eye and +0.75 in the other (no astigmatism), would you say he actually needed the glasses in order to read? or could he easily go without them?

  • What brands of hair color have the bluest base?

My natural colors are extremely ash, and it's hard to find any hair color that is ashy enough to match my skin tones just right.

Most recently, I used a Loreal Preference hair color (I think it was 8.1). It was a dark ash blonde marked as "blue base." I mixed it with a 20 developer.

However, it still left my hair looking very brassy (almost orange). Usually, I notice that the hair color looks bluish when I put it on my hair, but this one was clearly reddish brown coming out of the bottle.

I'm thinking there must be some brands with stronger blue bases - does anybody know which one is the most ashy?

  • Appropriate for older brothers / younger sisiter?

I'm a step mom to three children - two boys (9 and 10 yrs) and a girl (4 yrs). We've had a lot of problems with their mother, who has primary custody. I've heard a lot of things from the kids that I find clearly disturbing. Recently there was something that's actually a little more borderline, and I'm wondering how significant it is with all the other stuff we've been dealing with.

Our daughter has always had a lot of trouble with yeast infections, but mom has been less-than helpful dealing with the situation - flipping back and forth over the past 2-3 yrs between openly confessing that she couldn't get on top of the infection at home before visitation, or claiming in court that the infection "must be" from sexual abuse by dad while on visitation with us, or denying that the infection ever happens in her presence.

The young girl came to us for visitation with another terrible, uncared-for rash. As I was discussing possible care options for the rash with my (female) in-laws, the boys overheard from the next room and came in to offer helpful advice from their experiences at home. They told me a lot of detail about the girl's rash - things mom had done to try to treat it, things they had seen, and stuff said about the girl's privates.

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this. How would you feel about 9 and 10 yr old boys knowing such a huge amount about their 4 yr old sister's vagina issues? Does that seem appropriate?

Personally, I have two boys of my own that live at home with us full-time, and if they ever have a younger sister around, I would not permit them to have such access to their sister's private matters.

I'm interested to hear what you all think though.

  • What applications come with Microsoft XP home edition?

I just ordered a mini laptop (netbook) that comes with XP home edition. I want to know if it comes with Microsoft Access, and if so, what version (I'm hoping for 2003).

If anyone already knows, I'd love to hear your answer. :)

I found the laptop at wal-mart.com:

  • How do you use four remotes with the Wii?

I have four controllers for the Wii, but whenever I try to play four players games, it makes me use two controllers for four people. (2 people take turns with each controller). How can I get the Wii to detect/register all four remotes? I can't even get the second two remotes to turn on at the same time. And I know it's not the batteries, because I can use different combinations of two remotes and they each function perfectly - just not all four at the same time!

  • Can you loop a DLookup function in Microsoft Access 2003?

    Explanation:

I have a table [Participants] that has participants' contact info and their Native Language. I have a related table with the participants secondary languages. They are related by the participants ID #. I want to put a control on the participants info data entry form that will lookup and disply the participants' secondary languages.

Right now, I just have the secondary languages on the main form as a subform, but after user input, I want to remove the subform and use a linked form instead (since not many participants actually speak multiple languages). But I still want the main form to display the langauges, so they can be seen at first glance.

I can display a langauge for the participant using the DLookup function, but it only display s the first language that is attached to that ParticipantID - it won't display all applicable results. How can I get it to list all languages listed for that Participant ID?

  • Is there a way to have a Microsoft Access 2003 Macro prompt for a password?

    Here's why I need this:

I want to have a switchboard button open up a query that will connect medical information with participants' names. I want just this one function to be password protected and everything else to be available to all the staff that would use the database. Due to the way our network is set up, I can't create user accounts and passwords using the regular security functions, so I was wondering is a macro could serve this purpose.

  • For those who know Access 2003 well: How can I program a text value to automatically fill in a field? Read on-

I'm trying to program the primary key field (UniqueID) to automatically generate an id that is composed of the first 2 letters of the last name, the first 2 letters of the first name, and the year of birth.

So far, I can make a calculated control on a form generate it using

    =LCase(Left([Last Name],2) & Left([First Name],2) & Right([Birth Date],4))

And I can generate it in a field of a query using

    UniqueID: LCase(Left([Last Name],2) & Left([First Name],2) & Right([Birth Date],4))

But is there any way to get this UniqueID to actually be entered automatically into a datasheet field of the TABLE that the query is based on? (so that I can use it as the primary key for the table)

Someone tried to make up the term "value-ize," but I'm wondering if there is already an actual word with the same meaning?

  • What is an article called if an author is published once as a guest?

I know if an actor gets a single scene in a movie or show, it's called a cameo. But what is it called when a new writer gets a small piece published in a newspaper or magazine one time only? I'm pretty sure there's a word for that, but I can't for the life of me figure it out!
