According to scripture, how do the wise become fools?

One of my young students came to my school distraught this morning. After visiting with her for a short while she told me that she was being sexually abused by her father, and her mother knew but did nothing. Will you pray for this girl and for all of those involved? She is 11 years old. I would prefer not to give her name.

And if you can not pray will you promise to have the courage to stop people from doing these things if you ever find out?

I have already contacted Health and Human and they are sending people to the school.

When push comes to shove which do you believe has more authority the Bible or your church/religious denomination? Which do you favor when/if a contradiction was to arise?

I already have my own belief concerning this question, so I am simply seeking what others think. I encourage Non-believers to put in their two cents by sharing what they think it should be or any thoughts they have concerning the question in general.

Does someone’s life have less value because they live in a third world country? If you believe this to be true, please explain your answer, because it makes no sense to me that Christians would be criticized for helping the needy.

Please note, that most Christian humanitarian organization have no requirement for conversion…i.e., Christian Children’s Fund.

Is it possible that the truth of God is too simple for “intelligent” people to understand? I don’t mean to knock intelligent Christians certainly their are many and the spirit will open the eyes of anyone, but it seems to me that the truth about Christ is so simple and easy to believe… maybe too simple for those who take PRIDE in their own wisdom. I, clearly, never had a problem with simple thoughts, since I have a simple mind, but does that make it easier to see the truth?

Go ahead and put me in my place if need be, certainly I am inclined to error, but if you agree that those who BOAST about their intellect may have a more difficult time believing please acknowledge that possibility.

Why is it that the God that I love so much and that I passionately follow because of His love and goodness is so hated by non-believers? Even as some of them read these words now a flame of hate sparks in the very core of their being.

Why do they hate my Savior, whom they do not even know?

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Can we identify any of these fables today?
