  • What to buy: Digital Piano vs. Acoustic Piano.?

I am planning to buy a piano for my 6 y.o. daughter. Ideally, i would like her to take lessons, and hopefully she can play piano decently when she grow up.

I read opinions of how piano experts favor acoustic piano because they compared digital piano to a lame keyboard, which the touch and purity of resonance can never be the same. I understand those writers are serious musicians, who treasure real instruments instead of imitation. On the same time, they admit otherwise, digital piano was somewhat usefully comparable.

What i need your opinion is: Does it worth to spend three times as much for this reason? I am sure i am not the first parents who is going thru this... Not that i am pessimistic, but i dont expect my girl to be a mozart, but in the same time, i want to get her the best thing. If you have expereienced both instruments, what do you think? It will be nice to hear from an average player. Thank you for your input.

  • My luscious crabgrass lawn, to stay or to go?

I redid my lawn (spent $1000+) this spring because it was manifested with crabgrass last year. 6 months later,it recurs.

The crabgrass is short, dense, and in fact, look very nice. Is it possible that way? it doesn't have that long branches, just uniform fat rounded leaves.

I don't want to throw another thousand of dollars on my lawn. But how do i get rid of it? if i apply preemergent next spring, all that i will have is just a brown lawn that i must re-tilled and reseed. if i leave it, i will get my luscious crabgrass lawn on summer?

As stupid as it sounds, What do you think?

When can i start applying herbicide? fertilizer? and what kind? will weed n feed product solve the problem?

  • Should I claim or settle privately.?

Last week i bumped into some one's car. The damage was very minor (a little dent on the quarter panel), I told the other party that I would prefer to settle privately if it doesn't cost too much. She got a dealer appraisal and comes out to be $1500. I felt the appraisal was embellished (need to replace the rear door as well?).

Should I still pay the $2k or just have the insurance company takes care of it? This is my first at fault accident. Will this raise my insurance rate.

How does the deductible work? If I do not fix my car, should I still pay for the deductible?

  • Skip pre-K, straight to 1st grade, possible?

My daughter will attend pre-K this year. She has started reading (and probably will be fluent by this septemeber), and excellent in her math (she can do addition and substraction, i.e.:279+70 and 279-70). She is also mentally developed when it comes to lesson time.

I wonder if during enrollment interview, i can request her to skip pre-k? It will be ashame if she lost her advancement because of going to school. Has anyone has this experience before? What can I do to get her skip pre-k? I know that they do not do addition and substraction on pre-k yet!

  • To be happy or to be right?

I believe if a husband is abusive, it is not entirely his fault. Partially is because the wife let that happened on the first place.

On my case, i have always been the one who apologize and make up for any fights, regardless whose fault it is. I have been married for a little over five years, and i am tired of being pushed around. I understand that this happened because I let her doing this since day one.

Recently, i am standing up for myself. My silence treatement lasted for weeks and our marriage becomes sour. Am i doing the right thing?

Is it common for a husband just to agree and to please their wife? I know my wife is good in discplining the kids, and now i feel like being discplined for unacceptable behavior, in fact she has been training me to behave since day one.

Is it normal if after some times, you dont feel as much in love with your significant others anymore. I always thought our marriage is rock solid, but i guess not so.
