You and I probably don't agree on much of anything, but don't you think we should still respect each other?
Odds are good that we don't see eye to eye on a lot of things that are important to us. Why is it so hard then for us to just respect each other and those around us, despite our differences? We don't have to agree with someone to respect their rights and ideals.
11 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIs Hitler in heaven or not?
I asked a question earlier about what it takes to go to hell, and the resounding answer was a lack of faith in Jesus Christ. Hitler famously proclaimed faith in Jesus Christ, so is he in heaven despite the atrocities he caused on earth?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat would you have to do to deserve eternal suffering in hell?
It's easy for people to damn others for eternity, so I'm curious to see what you think you have done or would have to do go to hell eternally yourself. This is superseding the idea of Christ's salvation based on faith. For example, many people claim that homosexuals will go to hell for their orientation and/or practices regardless of whatever faith the profess. What would it take for you to think you deserve that same kind of damnation?
If you don't believe in such damnation (i.e. Atheists) I ask you to play along and suppose, just for sake of my curiosity.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf those we love won't necessarily be with us in heaven, why did God bother to make them needed in our lives?
I asked a question earlier about whether heaven is worthwhile if it would be without some of the people we care about most. One of the prevalent ideas among the answers was that once in heaven, your family and friends may not be there, but you would be too happy to care or might not even notice they weren't there. So, if we won't miss them, worry or care about them in the end anyways, why did God bother to make them so crucial in our lives in the first place?
34 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAccording to Christianity we all have friends & family who will be in hell. Would heaven be worth it w/o them?
I am making the assumption here that all of us care for someone who isn't Christian.
I'd also like to note that the principle applies to religion in general, I simply chose Christianity for its prevalence and personal relevance.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do you explain the tragedy of natural disasters according your beliefs/faith? (open to everyone)?
This question is originally aimed at Christianity, but curiosity leads me to ask everyone. Please explain how and why you think natural disasters occur, killing hundreds of thousands of people.
For Christians specifically- If you believe in a loving, merciful God, why does He cause/allow so many innocent people to die? If you believe in a wrathful and vengeful God, How do you explain that some of the most morally corrupt nations in the world are left relatively alone?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do I determine how many dB of output my guitar cabinet produces at a given volume setting?
I'm playing a Peavey Triple XXX 412 slant rated at 400W with a Marshall Mode Four head rated at 350W. I'm wondering how I could find out the decibel rating output of this setup at any given volume through a mathematical means or anything that doesn't require buying (or borrowing) a dB meter.
