Damaged US currency; is my $20 bill still good?
I have a damaged bill; its been torn and I have only perhaps just over 1/2 the bill in my possession. The serial number is wholly intact. Will the bank honor it or exchange it for another bill? What guidelines do banks require to redeem such damaged currency?
7 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoKnow of anyone who's been killed by (an) animal(s)?
I knew a guy who was killed by a California Gray Whale while sportfishing off the California coast. In modern society, wild animals surely kill fewer human beings than in the past, however, unfortunately, it still happens.
Any personal stories?
2 AnswersZoology1 decade agoDid anyone see the int'l. space station and the shuttle flyby?
It was quite easily visible in the relatively cloudless skies over central California this evening.
Two man-made satellites streaking across the starry night. I went outside and turned off the porchlight and stared towards the southeast and saw them tracking downrange from about 8:05-8:10pm PST.
Pretty interesting.
3 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoOther than Shakespeare, are there any literary references to 'the ides of March'?
What are the ides of March? Have other authors found use for the word, 'ides'?
Its my understanding that it means, roughly, 'about the middle of', but I'd welcome any alternative interpretation of this strange phrase..

2 AnswersBiology1 decade agoAnybody been prosecuted for non-participation in the US Census?
Personally intrusive questions and data security concerns compel many receipients to become non-responders. But US Code cites and threats of fines aside-HAS ANYONE ever been prosecuted? Any resident ever fined or imprisoned for not completing the census questionaire booklet?
With enough of the general populace falling all over themselves to 'volunteer' a response, shouldn't consciencious objectors be allowed their privacy/anonimity? Should our government demand the 30-40 minutes required to complete the initial survey as unpaid (slave) labor? Does our right to privacy end with the Bureau's promise of security?
3 AnswersCivic Participation1 decade agoCan you name some venomous mammals?
NOT ALL mammals are the warm & fuzzy lactating types-some will try to poison you. How many species of Mammalians are sporting venom?

22 AnswersZoology1 decade agoMechanics-What sealant do you use when replacing head gasket?
'88 Toyota Tercel head gasket-sealant that's resistant to gas?
Also-is the gasket dry fit to the block, and only the top side next to the head gets sealant? Or both sides?
After adhesion, is it ok to go ahead and torque the head to spec or will that squeeze out all the adhesive/sealant?
The only Permatex product I could find for head gasket useage was a copper based spray-on...

13 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow is John Force; any updates? Bad, bad wreck , huh?
Also do you think this will mark the end of his career behind the wheel as a NHRA Driver?
I mean, since retirement from Driver duties seemed imminent, will injuries sustained yesterday definitely put this horrific accident as John's last run?

8 AnswersHoroscopes1 decade agoAnyone know yucca plants? My tree's sick!?
Within the last week or ten days, my Mojave desert-type yucca has contracted a bad bug that's killing the spiky leaves, turning them brown. There are masses of spidery-webs between the leaves and a powdery brownish deposit that looks like sawdust on the webs/affected leaves.Could this be the bug on my dwarf citrus as well?
Is this some kind of spider-mite infestation, or some kind of scale insects? What treatment is available and can I save the bushy spiked 'heads' if they're already covered with this stuff? Or is massive pruning necessary? I've only used the high pressure water hose to try'n combat this attack-any idears?
