Delilah. I'm 15 years old, I live in New York, and I'm pretty opinionated. I like to give advice to people, so feel free to ask or whatever. Acting is my life. I'm a Greek mythology freak, a Harry Potter geek,a Shakespeare lover, and a Twilight fan. I'm sorry if you think I'm mean/rude in some of my answers, but sometimes I get annoyed. I apologize in advance, it's nothing personal. STOP ASKING ME ABOUT MY ACTING EXPERIENCE. I am tired of getting emails from people who I've given advice to asking me how I know things. Either take my advice or don't. I'm not posting my resume on Y!A. *This account used to belong to a friend, but she got bored and let me have it. I've been using this since about mid-January. Ignore any&all posts before that time.

  • The life of a professional ballerina?

I need to write an essay for school about the life of a successful person in a profession we would like to go into but for some reason can't. I picked ballet, because I'm too old to start now, but I think it's beautiful. Anyway,it's a made-up person, but I'm basing it on someone like Whitney Jensen. I know all the awards she's gotten, but what would her life be like? Is she constantly training in NY, is she home-schooled? Does she have time for school? What can they & what can they not eat? ect...

    Thank you.

  • Poll:Favorite theater/improv game?

Hey actors :) We've all played theater games and improv games at some point, right? So, what is your favorite? Give us the title and how it's played. You can also say why you like it.

    I'll start.

I don't remember what it's called, but I like the one where there are three workers and a boss.

One of the workers leaves the room while the other two workers (and the rest of the class) thinks of a reason as to why the third worker is late for work.

The third worker is supposed to be repeatedly late for work, so the boss gives them a hard time. The workers are supposed to make up a tough story with two or three parts. The two workers have to stand behind the boss.

Then, the third worker comes back in and has to explain to the boss why they are late based on what the other two workers are doing (they are acting out why the worker is late).

At any point, the boss can turn around and see the two workers acting it out and the workers have to justify their actions (laying on the floor could be looking for contacts or something to that effect).

If the boss chooses not to believe them, they can be fired and someone else is hired to take their place. The late worker has to try and tell the boss the whole story of why they are late without having any clue as to what the reason is until the other workers act it out.

It's really fun. I've played every position. I think it's really great to be the boss because you get to be mean and yell and it's not how I am regularly, so it's nice to change that. I can't keep a straight face when I'm the late worker because the other workers are always moving ridiculously.

  • Acting information for teenagers?

I know almost no one will actually read this, and I will end up reposting it anyway but here goes. I've decided to post this here so that all the teenagers can have a handy little resource. However, I know that most people will just gloss over it, not listen, and then ask the same questions over and over again anyway. At least I will have this to copy&paste with.

I'll start off by stating that I'm 15 years old&living in NY - I have been in many plays, and student films. Now I'm doing independent films and have even been on television in a few small roles.

    Here goes nothing:

Acting is a JOB- do not be sucked in by all the celebrities you see. Only pursue this as a career if you really, really, truly love it. If there is anything that you'd be happy doing, other than acting, do that instead. It is extremely difficult, especially with today's economy, to make money acting.

Less than 2% of actors are rich/famous. Around 2% - maybe a little more than that- can actually support themselves with their acting jobs alone. You will, most likely, never be famous or rich. If you are looking for that, this is the wrong job for you.

Make sure you have your parents support, because you legally cannot do this without them if you are under the age of 18.

    Put a resume together.

In your resume, you can include any talents, skills, classes or experience. You can put any performing - acting, singing, dancing. In the "special skills" area, you can include any talents or skills such as cheerleading, vocal range, dance types, gymnastics, musical instruments, martial arts, drama awards, sports, languages, accents, etc.

You can add school plays and community theater to the "theater" section of your resume. If it is a school play, leave of the "school" part. For example, you go to "Jimmy Dean High School" or "Mary Margaret Middle School". Do not put that on the resume. Instead, write "Jimmy Dean Theater" or "Mary Margaret Theater". You do not want everyone to know what school you go to. Join your school drama club. Take full advantage of every play your school puts on. Join choir or chorus if you like to sing.

Student films go in the "Film" part of the resume. As you do more student films, independent films, or feature films, you should add them to this part of the resume. Student films are fabulous. They give you experience in front of a camera. Make sure you put Lead,Principal,or Supporting, and not the character's name. Playing "Mary Sue" in a student film called "Halo" or something will not tell the person reading anything. However, if you put "Lead", they will know you played the lead. Don't list extra or background work,it does not count as acting. Only put a role if you had lines.

    Check on websites such as:

    www.actorsaccess.com

    www.lacasting.com

    www.nowcasting.com

    www.nycastings.com

    www.nycasting.com

    www.casting.backstage.com

You can also find auditions by reading Ross Reports or Backstage.

There are some colleges where you can submit a headshot&resume for them to keep on file for student films. That is generally in smaller states.

The first thing agents look for is training and experience. You cannot get an agent without both of those. Don't even try getting an agent unless you have a solid resume. A solid resume would not only include classes but also experience in both theater and film. Try sending your resume to agents when you have a few credits in each area.

Some agents or casting directors read the resume from the bottom up. That means that they look at your training first.

Classes go under the "Training" part of the resume. You can list vocal, acting, dance, or instrumental training. For example, my resume has my acting classes, my voice classes, my dance lessons, and my piano lessons listed. Watch out for scam schools such as John Robert Powers, Barbizon, A.C.T. or John Casablancas. Like I said, those are SCAMS. Very big, well known scams. I'm sure there are many many more like them. In general, if someone approaches you in the mall or advertises on the radio, they are a scam. Training is very important. Take a class outside of school. You can usually audit a class (go and watch) to see if you like it. There are different styles&techniques of acting, and you need to see which one fits you. Make sure you take your class seriously and do everything the teacher tells you. Your parents are paying for those classes so that you can learn something, which you can't do unless you take it seriously and pay attention.

Read some books for more information on resumes and how to make them. You can find some books in the "Drama" section of Barnes and Noble or in a Drama book store.

You will need headshots. You do not need professional ones if you're just doing school plays and community theater. When you begin auditioning for student films, though, you will need a picture to upload onto the websites/ submit to the college. However, you should be ready to get new one

  • Thinking about spending some time?

in Los Angeles. What are some cool places I can hang out in/see? Not tourist attractions, just fun stuff to do. I'm hoping to spend part of my summer there and hopefully some breaks during the next school year. So, anyone who lives in LA, what are some good places for a teenager to spend time in? Book stores, food, shopping, ect.

    :) Thanks.

  • Has anyone been accepted into one of the IVYs?

I'm intending on going to one of the IVY League schools, hopefully Yale or Harvard.

I'm also open to other Tier One schools such as Stanford,UCLA, or UC Berkley.

So, has anyone been accepted into one of the IVY league schools, Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, or other tier one schools?

If you have, what did you do during high school/ do you have any tips? What make you "special"? What did you have to offer? What can I do?

    Thank you! :)

  • Is anybody here actually serious about acting?

Does anyone actually love acting with a passion. I'm so sick of people who want to be famous. I'm trying to help people, please don't waste my time.

Oh, and I'd really appreciate if people used correct grammar so that I could read more easily.

  • I'm doing a report for school...?

I know I asked this, and I know this technically isn't fashion, but it has to do with models so I'm putting it here anyway.

As I said, I'm writing a report for school. The report is based on the evolution of beauty and beauty with age.

So, I need former models/actresses between the ages of 42 and 50. I also need males. So, basically just give me the names of any beautiful person I can google that is between the ages of 42 and 50. Thanks!

So, I need some former models or some actresses, who are in their 40's and are still beautiful. I already used Carla Bruni, I'm aware that she's beautiful. So, any former models, or current actresses, between the ages of 42 and 50, that you find beautiful. Thanks!

  • What is your favorite boutique/shop?

If you live in NY/ visit frequently, what is your favorite place to shop? Please don't list department stores, or large boutiques such as Scoop,Searle,Intermix or Big Drop. Just give me the name and location of a lesser know shop or boutique in Manhattan, it has to have women's clothing (obviously), and can be high-end,vintage or a thrift shop.

    Thanks :)

    Hey every one,

I was on google, searching pictures of Victoria Beckham and I got this picture of Emma Roberts. I have no clue why the picture is there, but I like her outfit, not her shoes though. I love the hat. Can someone find as much of this outfit as possible? Especially the hat though, I love fedoras.

  • Graham and Spencer at Scoop?

Scoop is my new favorite store :-)

Anyways, I saw a Graham and Spencer leather jacket there the other day, (I've been looking for one), but my table was ready at JG Melon, so I had to leave. And then I got picked up, so I forgot about the jacket.

Can I buy it online anywhere? Does Scoop still have it?

Any other leather jacket suggestions are welcome.

  • Did you watch Gossip Girl tonight?

I did, I watch it religiously.

Glad they didn't mention whatever is going on between Jack/Blair. I was seriously terrified, but I think they saw all the negative responses and protest/boycott warnings.

I literally sobbed when Chuck was apologizing to Blair. (My favorite part of the episode).

By far, the best episode ever.

Second favorite is the pool party episode from season one.

What was your favorite part of tonight? &Your favorite two episodes?

  • How can I give myself a fever?

I know, it is a stupid question. But I need a fever, or rather make it seem like I have a fever. I can fake sick really well, but my mom won't let me stay home unless I have a fever or am puking my guts out. & I don't intend on going bulimic for this. I can't do that.

So how do you get a fever? Or fake one?

Any really good fake sick ideas?

  • Loosing a couple pounds?

Hi, I'm 5'8" and I weigh 125 lbs. I wear anywhere between a size 00-2 in jeans and usually a 2 or 4 in dresses.

I really want to weigh 115 lbs. by February. Or maybe February 9th, which is my birthday. I'm 14, turning 15 :)

So, any tips on what not to eat or what work outs I should do? I also would like to get my tummy toned instead of just jiggly. I'm sort of naturally thin, but I eat junk alot so I've gained 5 lbs since Sept.

This time last year, I weighed 113, which is my ideal. But I can loose two pounds easily.

Help? Work outs or diets and any tips.
