I need help with form 990-PF!?
I run a very small non-profit that was formed and granted 501c3 status in 2014. I am completing form 990-PF and have most of it taken care of (a lot didn't apply because all our donations are from close friends and family, was all money and no tangible property, and we have no investment activities). The only part I am struggling with is Part XIII (Part 13) Undistributed Income. I don't really understand how to fill this section out. If it helps, we had donations of $1022.45, spent $17.95 on office related expenses, and spent 922.45 on our charitable causes. We were left with $82.05 at the end of the year.
2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance6 years agoConnecting old cast iron pipe to new PVC?
I am working on a plumbing project and am tackling something relatively new to me. I am replacing some old plumbing drain lines in my basement, which appear to be old 3" cast iron pipes. The outside diameter of the pipe is right about 4". Due to my plumbing inspector being difficult, I have to connect this to a 4" PVC line, which measures about 4.5" on the outside. I have tried the standard connectors available from the big box stores and the issue I am having is they fit just fine on the PVC pipe, but it is too lose on the cast iron pipe. When I tighten the bands, it just distorts the fitting and will not seal it properly. Which of course means it leaks. Does anyone know of a fitting specifically for connecting cast iron to PVC that would work in this case?
7 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoYahoo mail nicknames don't work??
So it appears Yahoo mail has done it again! I logged in yesterday to send an email, and my nicknames aren't working! Before, I could type in a nickname instead of having to remember an email address. For example, when sending an email to my mom, I would just type "mom" into the "to" field, and hit Tab. The email would go to her. Now when I try to use nicknames, the name is highlighted in red (meaning no email address being pulled) and it obviously won't send. I have checked my contacts to make sure the nicknames are still there, and they all appear to be fine. For some reason, Mail isn't pulling the email address using the nickname. But if I start to type the actual email address, it will offer suggestions based on what I am typing. This is great if I can remember the first few letters of someones email address, but I have over 100 contacts in my Contact list, and I can't remember the first part of that many addresses. Is anyone else having a similar issue? Honestly, I am about fed up with Yahoo mail. Waaaaay to much like gmail, which if I wanted to use it (I find it NOT user friendly in the LEAST) then I would. I always like Yahoo mail because it was easy to use and I never had issues, at least not until a few months back when they changed it all to the Google feel.
2 AnswersCalendar and Contacts7 years agoFillable form in Word 2010 help?
I am trying to create a fillable form in Word 2010. I have my document laid out and have inserted several text boxes where I want them. My problem is that every time I go to enter text into the boxes, the formatting/layout of the entire document is changed. My boxes are small, for items such as "date" and "time", and are not intended for large paragraphs.
When someone enters text into the "date" field, I do not want the "time" field to shift to the left. I want it to stay where it is. I have tried enabling protection and everything else that I can find, but I can't find a solution.
Please help??
1 AnswerSoftware7 years agoDoes she like me? I have no idea!?
I work in a job where I am out at several apartment complexes on a daily basis. There is a girl that works in one of the rental offices that I have had a bit of a crush on for some time. One of my coworkers was there a couple months ago when I was off for a couple weeks and while they were talking she referred to me as "cutie Drew". But I don't think that necessarily means she likes me.
When I am there, she is always really nice and we have decent conversations. I have heard and read a few things about what to look for to see if a girl is interested such as if she touches her hair a lot (primping) or if she seems excited to see you, and stuff like that. Well, I get maybe half the signals, but then there are also signals that she doesn't have that sort of interest.
She doesn't play with her hair a lot, but doesn't seem like the type that would. She is always friendly and "bubbly" when I talk to her. But there are times that I am there that she doesn't even seem to notice me, even though I know she knows I am there. This happens a lot if I come in and she is busy and I get my work orders from another associate. When she is done with what she is doing, she doesn't really acknowledge me unless I say hi first.
Anyway, in the past we have mostly talked about work related stuff and small talk type things. But today I talked to her for almost an hour and a couple of non-work related things came up (such as she has a dog and she is allergic to cats). Then, when I got back to my office, I had an email from her which was a response to one I sent yesterday regarding a work order. I did not get the email before I went there. At the end she said "I am excited to see you today and to hear your thoughts on this unit". She has never said anything like that, but I don't know if she was just saying it or if she really was excited to see me. She seemed the same when I got there. In the same email, she also responded to a stupid joke I had made and made a comment along the lines of "hahahahah. I just wanted to be silly". Again, never had something like that in an email from her before.
I know she is not married, and I am 99% sure she does not have a boyfriend. I am a pretty shy person (I usually have to force myself to be social in these places) and I don't have a lot of confidence in myself. I have already convinced myself that she would say no if I asked her out, but every time I see her, I want to.
And to clarify the situation a bit more, I am just an average person - not overly good looking but not unattractive, not skinny or fat but average. She is pretty good looking with a slender figure. I know she had a bad breakup a couple years back, which may be why she does not have a boyfriend because I can't fathom any other reason why she wouldn't. I am sure she gets hit on a lot.
So my big question is, how do I know if she is interested in me (other than the obvious "asking")?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoDoes she like me or is she just being nice?
OK, so I am a little older than most posters here, but I thought I would ask for some opinions.
I work in a job where I travel around to different apartment complexes to perform work. We have to get keys and work orders from the rental offices. There is one office that I have been going to for over a year and a half. There is a girl there that is fairly attractive, but I never had much interaction with her until late last year. She is the assistant manager of the complex. Last August and September, we did some large projects for this property and I found myself spending more time than usual with her because we had to coordinate work and I had to keep her and the manager up to date on what was going on.
She is always very nice to me when I am there. She is funny, laughs at my jokes (but a lot of people do), and we can have some pretty lengthy conversations at times. However, it is mostly about work stuff. We've had a few "personal" conversations, but nothing more than "how was your weekend, did you do anything fun?" I am very hesitant to ask her more personal questions to potentially strike up a non-work related conversation, but I don't want to cross a line if she isn't interested that way.
People have told me to see how she interacts with other guys to see if she treats me differently, but there just aren't that many people in and out of the office for me to see. All of the office staff are females so that doesn't help at all either. I know she is not married because that somehow came up in a conversation a while back. I do not know if she has a boyfriend. She never speaks of one and doesn't have any pictures of one in her office. I also almost friended her on facebook but decided against it at this point, but I did flip through her photos. (Creepy, I know) I didn't see any pictures of a boyfriend.
So, from a womans point of view, how can I tell if this girl likes me enough to say yes if I asked her out on a date? If she said no, I wouldn't be devastated and it wouldn't change my ability to go in there to work, but I don't want to make her uncomfortable.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoUnfinished raised panel cabinets?
Anybody know where I can find reasonably priced unfinished oak raised panel cabinets? Believe it or not, none of the "big boxes" carry them! They only have flat/recessed panel cabinets in unfinished oak. I have checked a few other places as well, and any unfinished is flat panel. I can find prefinished raised panel everywhere, but we need unfinished so we can stair to (closely) match some existing cabinets. Our existing cabinets were custom made and were quite expensive (over $20K for a kitchen 18x10 with a small island). We are putting cabinets in a mud room and want to stain to closely match the kitchen, but don't want to go the custom route for a room where they will take a lot of abuse from dirty shoes, wet coats, and dogs. Anyone ever found these anywhere else??
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)7 years agoHow hard is it to replace charcoal canister?
I have a 2003 Honda Civic with about 206,000 miles. It's been a great car and I have had to do very little to it over the years. Recently, the check engine light came on. I had a friend read the code which was p1457. I searched the code and found : "problem in the Emissions Control System Leakage EVAP Canister System". After trying the easy stuff, like tightening the gas cap, I took it in to a shop and had them read the code (got the same thing) and do a diagnostic on the system. They told me that the charcoal canister is cracked, causing the system to leak and, thus, causing the code.
I have found the part itself for around $100-$130. The quotes from the shops I have checked range from $450-$650 to replace it.
My question is, with a little bit of knowledge working on cars, is this something I can swap out rather easily? I have a friend that is good with cars and thinks he can do it, but has never done one before. Is this part fairly easy to get to without having to remove a bunch of stuff? What issues might I run into with fuel lines, etc?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoHow do I easily set up a VPN?
Re-asking with some additional information. I've asked this question a couple times and each time everyone has responded basically saying I need to have "permission" from my employer to do this, or offer some other way to do this. I simply want to set up a VPN, which I have heard is relatively easy, I just have no idea how to do this.
I want to be able to access my work computer from my home. I own a small business and set up a small network at my office. It consists of a desktop computer that my assistant uses, a laptop that I use, and a printer. All are set up wireless except the desktop is plugged into the router. All of our files are stored on the desktop, and when I need to work on something, I just open it on my computer from the desktop.
I want to be able to do more work from home since most of the time there is no need for me to be sitting in the office working on something I can sit at home and work on. I have a laptop at home that I want to use to access the files, do work on them, and save them back to the office desktop. It would also be great if I could print stuff to the office from home, but that is not a requirement.
All computers in question are running windows XP. All have access to the internet via broadbank (cable at home, DSL at the office).
Can someone please advise the steps I need to take on each end to set this up??? This seems like a pretty simple question for someone with basic knowledge of VPNs. I have basic computer knowledge (I did, after all, set up a network at home and at work) but please keep the terminology as simple as possible.
3 AnswersComputer Networking7 years agoHow do I easily set up a VPN?
I want to be able to access a work computer from home. At my office, I have a desktop (our "main" computer) that my assistant uses, and all of our files and stuff are stored on that computer. I have a laptop at the office that I use, and we have it networked (wireless) so that I can access the "main" computer and it's files, allowing me to work on things at my desk.
I want to be able to take my laptop home and connect to the office's "main" computer from home. I am told I need to set up a virtual private network to do this. I have a basic knowledge of computers and networking, but not enough to do this with the knowledge I have.
Can someone please advise me, step by step, what I need to do on each computer to set this up? Please remember, I have a basic knowledge of computers and networks, but am far from an expert. Please be as detailed as possible. If it matters, both computers are running Windows 7 and I have broadband at both locations. The office computers are wireless via a netgear router. Our printer is also wireless, and it would be great if I could print from home to the office, but that isn't totally essentially - just nice if I could set it up.
Thanks!
3 AnswersComputer Networking7 years agoHow do I set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network)?
I have a small network at my office (2 computers, printer/scanner/fax/copier) and I want to be able to access that network from home (access both computers hard drives, and if I can swing it, print to my office from home). I believe both computers at the office run Windows 7 (however one might still be XP - I don't use that one a lot) and my computer at home is Windows 7. Can anyone explain in rather simple terms how to set this up? I think Windows 7 has some built in programs/software to do this, but I don't know where to start. Please keep in mind I have some computer knowledge, but not tons.
2 AnswersComputer Networking8 years agoEasy English to Spanish translation needed!?
This may sound silly, but how do you say "Dog of many pants" in Spanish? I don't fully trust Google translate or similar things out there because I have heard they translate word for word and sometimes that doesn't end up meaning the same thing.
8 AnswersLanguages8 years agoElectrical question - 4 way switch?
I am wiring a 4 way circuit and am having issues getting it to properly work. I have checked, rechecked, and checked again, all of my wiring and as far as I can tell it is correct. I have two 3 way switches with a 4 way switch in between, leading to two lights. The circuit goes: 3way, 4way, 3way, light, light, so everything is in the correct order.
My issue seems to be with the 4way switch. When it is in the "up" position, the three ways function as they should - either will turn the lights on and off. Flipping the 4way down will also turn the lights off. HOWEVER - when the 4way is down, the 3ways will not work at all. Its like the 4way is shutting off the entire circuit somehow.
I have checked my wiring and it seems to be correct. I can't post a picture here so I will try to explain it. I have my hot (12/2) coming in to the first box with a 3way switch. My 3way switches have a screw on the upper left side, one on the lower left side, and one on the lower right side. My hot wire is connected to the upper left. I have 12/3 wire leaving to go to the 4way. The black is connected to the bottom left, the red to the bottom right.
At the 4way, the black is connected to the lower left and the red connected to the lower right. I have another 12/3 leaving this box heading to the other 3way switch. The black from that wire is connected to the upper left, and red to the upper right.
The last switch is a 3way set up the same as the first - screw on the upper left, lower left, and lower right. The black from the 4way switch is connected to the lower left, the red to the lower right. I have a 12/2 wire leaving the box that goes to the lights. The black is connected to the upper left.
I have other 3 way circuits that I have wired in the exact same manner, minus the 4way switch of course. All work fine. Like I said, this one works fine if the 4way is in the up position, but not in the down. I have tried 2 switches so I don't think it is a faulty switch.
One more thing to note: I have not installed a 4 way circuit in years. When I went to buy my materials the guy at the hardware store pointed me to a "double pole" switch, which shows instructions inside for wiring a 4 way circuit. (My circuit matches) Last time I bought a 4 way switch, it was labeled "4 way switch", not double pole. I don't know that this matters, but thought I'd point it out. Also, this circuit is in unfinished garage so I have access to all the wiring (i.e. it isn't behind drywall yet) so I can see it all and I know it is properly run.
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)8 years agoAccounting program I can tie into my website?
I am looking for some type of accounting program where I can enter invoices written by my field technicians, but then have my clients log in to my website (secure area just for them) and view their past invoice activity. I am currently using Quickbooks Pro 2012 and don't see any way to tie that into my website, but I know other companies are using some sort of software to do this. Any suggestions??
