  • Can I back up music files from a PC and use on my mac?

Can I back up music files from a PC onto an external drive and use on my mac? Is this possible? I have about 120gb of music on my PC - and I no longer use PC (once you go MAC you can't go back). I want to wipe the PC out and let my kids use it for computing.

    How do I do this?

  • Is my child eligible for the child tax credit? (50/50 split custody)?

I have two sons. Last year my ex wife claimed one son, and I claimed the other. I was looking into tax documents and wondered if we both could claim both children. We share all bills 50/50 and the children spend almost an exactly equal time with us.

Were we correct in each claiming one, or can we both claim two?

  • I am a single dad - Is it ok to give my children money and take them somewhere to get me a birthday present?

I've been single for my last 2 birthdays and my young sons (7 and 9) in the past have commented how if they could have gotten me a present they would've. I am not someone who needs things to make me happy, but I am wondering what the right thing is. Their mother refuses to be civil, so she won't take them (although I always do for her - its the right thing to do).

So I'm torn. September is my birthday. What do you think?

  • I've run a 1/2 marathon with a good time, would I be able to do a full in two weeks?

Last weekend I ran a 1/2 marathon with a good time (2 hours) - I just heard about a local marathon two and a half weeks from now. I was wondering if I took my time and slowed my pace (from 9 1/2 min per mile to around 10, 10 1/2) would I be able to complete this? I've never done more than 15 miles, but I am confident in my ability. This is a very flat course on crushed stone. Ideal!

This weekend I am running a 10 mile race at top speed (prob 8:40 per mi) - so I won't be able to go on a very long run.

    So what do you think?

  • Running a 1/2 marathon this sun and not sure which shoes to wear - old or new?

My timing was off, yes I know. My old shoes have about 700 miles in them (about 200 too many), and just don't feel the way they should. My new ones are arriving today - and I'll probably be able to put 12 miles into them before sunday, but you really shouldn't run much the days before a biggie, and I do know it normally takes 50-100 miles to break in shoes. What would you recommend?

  • Is my friend jumping in too deep with a newly separated / still married man?

My friend started a long distance relationship with a man about a month ago. He had only been separated from his wife just over a month from when they had met. They have only seen each other in person twice and he is sending her messages such as "I <3 my girlfriend", and showering her with gifts and even mailed out a care package. I care about my friend and don't want her to get hurt, but it seems (to me as a divorcee) that he is very insecure and wants to latch on for the sake of not being alone. She mentioned to me that he is talking about plans he is making for them in the fall, and I said to her, "wasn't he sharing the same bed with his wife just 60 days ago, and now making plans for 180 days from now?" I worry that she is going to get very emotionally bruised. What are you thoughts?

  • Is it beneficial to take days off when running?

I have been training and running on a pretty hardcore regimen sine July 09. I start with 3 days a week, now up to 5-6 days a week. I feel that I have to FORCE days off because some people told me it is best for my body.

I'd like to do shorter runs, only 20 mins on some days, when other days doing an hour or more. Is there truly a benefit to having a day of rest? I just want to do whats best for my body.

  • My appetite has been waning since i've been working out more. Is this normal?

I've always had a moderate activity level, but I've started running 6k every other day. Since I started that over 2 weeks ago, i am rarely hungry. Is this normal?

Some background about me, I am careful about what I eat, only healthy mid carb foods, and a strict vegetarian diet. I don't feel weak or tired, and I'm honestly not concerned - just wondering if this is normal.

  • Falling in love with a girl that has HPV, ideas / advice?

I'm a 32 year old divorced father and I'm completely enamored with a woman with HPV. I've read all about it, and I do know that there is no way for sure that I will contract it, but I am still a bit hesitant. We have not had any sort of intercourse, but I do foresee it in the future.

Run is not an option, she is perfect in every other way and she could be the last person I ever make love to.

  • women - how do we, as men, approach you without seeming like a creep/fool/etc?

I can't seem to build up enough courage to EVER approach a woman I find interesting or attractive. I was in a committed marraige/relationship for thirteen years and I'm ready to date again. I just don't want to look like a fool or get flat out rejected. Internet dating only brings me losers.

    HELP.

  • when does the pain and rejection fade away from a separation/divorce?

My wife of 9 years (we've been together 13) decided to let it go. She has no interest in saving the marriage or going to couples counseling. She is in fact, already dating. We have 2 children (5 and 7) and because of this and financial instability, we are still living together.

I can't make the pain go away. She wants a fresh life, start anew.

I can't imagine living without her - for me the honeymoon never ended.

I've tried to get counseling, but all the people are booked up for 45+ days in advance.

Some days are better than others and some are just unbearable.

  • My wife and I separated - now what? Feeling worthless.?

My wife and I separated 2 weeks ago. We have two children and they are priority #1 PERIOD. We have been through financial ruin and are finally on the rebound, so us living in separate places right now is not an option. I am sleeping downstairs and she is in the bedroom. She is planning on us living together for a few years until we are both 100% back on our feet.

I've always been caring, romantic, not let myself go, been compassionate (not saying I am the perfect husband, but I damn well TRIED). She says it isn't me, but... I still feel worthless and rejected.

She just is sure she does not want to be married to me anymore. I've been with her for 13 years and I'm only 31. Half of my life has been devoted to her and the family, I truly don't know how to function some days. What can i do?

I find activities or distractions just postpone the pain.

I have no interest in dating and hate going places alone - I see old married couples and get so internally frustrated.

  • my wife seems sick of me and at times says she feels trapped?

My family has been on an emotional roller coaster the past few years. I haven't been able to find the quality of job I want, we filed bankruptcy in January, and overall suffered some big financial losses. We've been just "getting by" for about three years.

Since February my wife has had a good paying job, and I have one that pays well since July. At times things seem to be getting better, but she tells me she feels trapped.

I take care of her every need, cook/clean & raise the children, but it just doesn't seem to be enough. She is upbeat and easy going sometimes and other times seems so distant.

I love her dearly and she tell me she loves me, but I can tell things aren't correct. She has talked that perhaps we were married too young and we should separate, but we can't afford it.

I feel so empty and I'm not sure what to do/say to her some days.

  • My cat keeps spraying a yellow/bloody liquid and he is fixed. why/what?

My cat keeps spraying a yellow/bloody liquid and he is fixed. why is he doing this and what is it?

No its not a UTI, my grandfather was a vet and showed me how to check for those. He is also straining to do it. No matter what we do for him, it keeps occurring. I saw him do it once and he really had to strain to do this.

    Any ideas?

  • My wife wants to pose nude on the internet, want opinions?

My wife is beautiful. I love her to bits, I can't imagine a more perfect woman, and she wants to pose nude for a site o the internet.

Its not a PORN site and she isn't going to show the INSIDE of herself, but it is a fully nude site. I am not a fan of this website and I am totally opposed to her doing it.

Its not the posing nude on the internet that bothers me, its the though of men pleasing themselves to her picture that bothers me.

If it were an site for art, or if it were artistically done I wouldn't be bothered by it, but its a PAY per peek site. I keep expressing it to her how much I hate the idea and she doesn't seem to care all that much. She really wants to do it.

    So what do I do?

  • Wife is more excited to play an internet game than she is to be with me in person?

I love her terribly, but she is more excited to talk about the game she played all day (she is self employed) than real life.

I am doing everything to keep her interested, but I don't seem to be enough.

BTW - love life is HOT, married for bearly 8 years, together for near 12.
