He has been out for 1 week and has gone to the chiropractor everyday last week. His company is a small construction firm that does have work comp insurance but has not turned anything into them yet. I think they just wanted to pay the chiropractor bills only. The trouble is that we have obligations that his salary needs to cover. Without his salary I am unsure how we can make the house payment and his truck payment , the rest I think I can cover if I work all the overtime possible. I am worried sick. Anything we should be doing?

She states that although they have been married for years he has issues with personal grooming. She states that she has to remind him to brush his teeth, complain before he showers, and that he doesn't like to wear deodorant. I think I am too close to this! I have never noticed that he had an odor or even appeared to be ungroomed. Additionally, my friend is somewhat a clean freak and might be exaggerating the claim. Suggestions without sounding mean? I want to tell her to stop reminding him like a child!

Recently, I have uncovered a clearer understanding of the large Apostolic community in my state. I knew they had large families but as we are a rural state, I had an assumption that their sect/group was self-supporting. Apparently, not. To complicate matters, many, many children are encouraged whether married or not. Bizarre!

Some religions have a strong disregard for birth control. As a member of the Disciples of Christ, we are allowed to choose. My husband and I are responsible for caring for our children financially, emotionally, and personally. I can not fathom asking the church to take this responsibility, therefore I can not fathom demanding I need to have as many as “God will allow”. This is responsible parenting and Christ like behavior.

On the flip side of this, what if we have as many as possible? So instead of two, we have twenty-two. We can not afford a house payment so the “church” will build us one for free? We can get on food stamps, electric assistance, Medicaid, and any other welfare program available in my area. Why is it the tax payer’s responsibility to take care of my irresponsibility?

Is it not Christian to serve the unfortunate, not to be one intentionally?

Honestly, I find it mis-postings offensive and a waste of my time. I am aware that some of these folks are poorly educated however there are times I think "No one can be that stupid". I certainly don't state that I advise that education is good and recommend a brush up on YA etiquette. Is this so awful?

Are you showing them respect, love, and appreciation for all the things they do? Tell me some good stories on how you are doing this for the one you made promises to!

Because they are scared to leave, do not have the means to leave, will feel shamed to leave the marriage, want to keep their family together for the kids, hope and pray that he will change, think they deserve it because.......you fill in the blanks. Most women are not idiots, they just love their husbands. Many do not have the financial resources for self-support or education for a good paying job. I have found that these women have had their self-esteem destroyed. This rarely changes without men getting anger counseling and truly understanding that abuse is not ok. Chances are your dad witnesses abuse, was perhaps abused, and believes it is ok. Women really counseling to heal those scars and find confidence in themselves. I do not consider myself judgmental as I myself have had a failed marriage due to my spouse's unfaithfulness. Years later, I have found joy in a new marriage but have learned a lot of painful lessons. The costs of divorce are so high for the couple, the children, and the extended family members. Its such a loss of hopes and dreams for the future. Life happens! My concern is that many here seem to lack commitment, some even feel that there is marriage is not necessary for the security of couple-hood. Is that the norm in society? I am shocked to think that we have sunk so low. Does anyone else feel this way? For the sake of encouragement to others, if you have a happy marriage story feel free to share it. Thanks!

The 1960's is called the decade of great change for good reason. I can only choose one of these events for my assignment. Which do you think created the largest economic, social, and economic change. I am on the fence. We have a half-black president currently. The Civil Rights movement sparked other movements such as gay rights and women's equality. Vietnam anti-war demonstrations led to sex, drugs, and roll n roll. This sparked debates about abortion and the pill. Please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Even her family knows that the tot mom is guilty at this point no matter how much they wanted to believe she was innocent. The remaining members of the family loved her very much and I feel so bad for them.

I think it is great that we have people in the community who speak spanish, but we have others you speak german, Italian, and french(myself included). Why do Latinos come here and expect welfare applications, water bill, school registration, medical documentation to all be in spanish? You have got to be kidding me......I would not go to Germany and expect everything to be in English! Does this make anyone else want to throw out anyone who wants to 'adopt spanish as a second language' and who claims to represent the people of this great nation ? Where did the common sense go folks?

Makes you laugh, knows what you will say before you say it, adores you. Or would you choose money, where nothing (almost) is denied. You may travel, golf all the best major courses, and all the best shops know your name. Life isn't a bowl of cherries, but you can live with the man. You have friends.

My 85 year old grandma was supposed to have hip surgery tomorrow am. She began to take a turn for the worst yesterday. She has a fever, her kidney's are failing, and she is unresponsive. The doc said she is not God but it looks like we need to prepare for the worst. She does not think she will survive the night much less the surgery.

What is the best way to get a reasonable air fare under these circumstances? Need to get there ASAP. Closest regional airport FSD, Sioux Falls, SD. I ned to get to RDU, Raleigh, NC.
