since 1981, how can Obama stand in front of a crowd and brag about creating 25 jobs, especially when they were 25 government jobs?

  • Senate being held hostage....?

    In today's paper:

Governor submitted a list of projects to be considered for Federal Funding. Governor office states, "The Governor had to respond to the request, but everyone should recognize that the request to states is a way to engineer support for the stimulus plan." "If every state has a stake in the stimulus bill, every senator will be expected to vote for it."

    Response from Senator:

"I am completely opposed to awarding states that have been irresponsible."

What do you think of this approach?

Are we up for the next bailout?

Is the porn industry up next for a bailout? If porn titans Joe Francis and Larry Flynt have anything to do with it, it will.

  • Do you agree with the unemployed not getting a tax break?

Obama's "tax cut" is going to be on the taxes that are taken out of your salary. So, for those who recently lost their jobs with the economic downturn, there is no relief. Is this fair to those who are hurting most and in the most need?

  • How do you feel about Hamas bringing back crucifixion?

Both Iran and its Hamas proxy in Gaza have been busy this Christmas week showing Christendom just what they think of it. But no one seems to have noticed.

On Tuesday, Hamas legislators marked the Christmas season by passing a Shari’a criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, it legalizes crucifixion.

Hamas’s endorsement of nailing enemies of Islam to crosses came at the same time it renewed its jihad.

  • What is the difference between the civilian assistance corp that Obama proposes the the National Guard?

I thought the 'regular' military fought our battles and protected us overseas and the National Guard was available to deploy in times of need at home. Well, the war on terror changed that and now the National Guard deploys overseas. The Civilian Assistance Corp that Obama proposes is for deployment and home and overseas in times of need. In what way are they going to be different that the National Guard?

  • How do you feel about preparing the military to meet 21st century threats.?

To do this we would ensure that our military becomes more stealthy, agile, and lethal in its ability to capture or kill terrorists, and bolster our military's ability to speak different languages, navigate different cultures, and coordinate complex missions with our civilian agencies.

  • You frequently hear of our Presidential candidates requesting a line item veto, what do you think ?

of a line item vote. So many bills are voted down, not because of the intent of the bill but because of the pork barrel items attached. And this leads to so many of the negative campaign ads we see prior to an election. example: "So and so voted against sending equipment to our troops..." when so and so actually voted against a $15 million study on the nesting habits of the DoDo bird that was attached to that bill. A line item vote would address the need for a line item veto and would also show voters exactly how their representatives are voting.

  • What do you think of the EPA's suggested fart tax on cows and pigs?

  • Will you wear red on Fridays?

    Quote:

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'

Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was

in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me

beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed

one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they

began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was

abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and

cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded

American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their

    families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young

unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so

we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our

service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran

up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy

    for her.

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said

he would try and what did she want to give to her Daddy.. Then suddenly

the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest

hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was

Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had

been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her

daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all

of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the

other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They

started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to

Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he

told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he

had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying

'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and

he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young

soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was

standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towa rds their gate, people

resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around,

there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in

one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney

with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and

thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day , it's

    good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing

Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to

be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are

voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal

media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions.. Many

Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize

that the vast majority of America supports our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity

and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday

until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every

red-blooded America n who supports our men and women afar will wear some

    thing red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every

Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the

    bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with

acquaintances, co-worker s, friends, and family. It will not be long

before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the

once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more

    than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things

better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and

    wear something red every Friday.

  • What do you think of Podesta's (Obama Transition Team) announcement of inviting public comment? ?

Obama-Biden Transition Project Co-chair John D. Podesta announced that all policy documents from official meetings with outside organizations will be publicly available for review and discussion on Change.gov.

This means we're inviting the American public to take a seat at the table and engage in a dialogue about these important issues and ideas -- at the same time members of our team review these documents themselves.

If this works to the public's benefit, even as little as getting the public more involved in what is going on day-to-day, what do you think the chances of getting Congressional committee meetings to do the same thing?

  • What has the Department of Energy accomplished in the last thirty one years?

Bottom line . . we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency the reason for which not one person who reads will know or can recall. Ready? It was very simple, and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate. The Department of Energy was instituted 8-04-1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil! Pretty efficient, huh?

And now it is 2008, 31 years later and the budget for this necessary department is at $24.2 billion a year. They have 16,000 federal employees and approximately 100,000 contract employees and look at the the job they have done! Can you list some accomplishments or is this were we slap our forehead and say 'what were we thinking?' AH yes, good ole bureaucracy. And now we are going to turn the Banking system over to them? God Help us.

  • What happened to the gas tax revenue that was supposed to go to building roads and bridges?

There is so much talk of the need to repair roads and bridges. We have a gas tax revenue that is supposed to be used for just that. With the cost of fuel in the recent months, there should be a surplus. Why is there such a need?
