What I have read online is confusing; also someone told me that the rules have changed. I will be in AIT for one year.

From what I gather: He will get BAH (with or without dependents?) and I won't get BAH (since I'll be in AIT they will force me to live in the barracks?)

Does anyone know how that works currently? (That is, if the rules have changed recently)

I've read some yahoo answers where people claim that people have died in the gas chamber at basic training because they lied about their asthma. I can't find a single source saying someone has died from it. Where is this information? Sounds like scare tactic to me.

My husband should be going in a few months. I know the training is about a year. I am going to stay in NC to finish school.

I thought he would be able to stay in the barracks while down at that school. We own a house in NC, where I go to school.

Can he stay in the barracks down there and we can still get BAH while I live in NC? He said it is like PCSing but I thought your family comes down when you PCS for 2 years........and the rules are different when it's only one year?

There are two black wires going to the dimmer. There are white wires connected to one another (not attached to anything but each other). And the ground is attached to another ground.

I have the on/off switch ready to go.....the guy at Lowes said to connect the white wire, black wire, and ground to it. However, there are so many wires so I don't know what goes where. Also, the ground wires are connected to one another so do I need to connect the ground to my new plate switch??

I recently bought a 66 mustang.

I took it to a shop for some diagnostic work. They said there's a leak in the trans output seal.

I took it to Ford for a second opinion and other some other work. They told me it won't go into 3rd gear.

Is that because of the leak? Will a leak in the trans output seal cause the car to stop going in 3rd gear?

Or is it a fair price? It seems low to me? But I dont understand why.

What do I tell them I need? "I need a new exhaust?" Is that what it's called?

About how much would you think that is with labor?

My car is registered in Alaska and has Alaska plates (we're military).

I want to sell it privately but I have NO IDEA how. I tried looking it up online but it is so confusing.

Can I sell it with the AK plates? Do I have to register it in NC first? Get NC plates?

I know this is the military section, but my husband is in the army and I wanted to see from other military families' perspectives.

My husband is E6, and we live in NC. We have 1800 a month after bills for food and gas each month. We want to have a baby. Do you think that is enough to be in the clear with a baby where you don't have to worry about money each month?

Can they modify the door frame of my house?

I want this patio door at Lowes. My dimensions are 70 by 80 (roughly). I have an exactly 5 inch door jam. Stock doors are 4 9/16 jam and 72x80. The door I want is 800 dollars, but to get my specific specifications, the door costs 1600 dollars.

Lowes won't install if they have to do construction on the house. Can someone else easily just make my door jam smaller to fit the 4 inch frame?

But then I would have to pay self-employment taxes at 15.3%, right? Thats 5,480 dollars

So does that mean (to ESTIMATE my taxes) I would be paying a total of 12,457 dollars in taxes!?!?!

That doesnt sound right to me. 12,457 in taxes while you only made 35,000? Or do you not add SE tax to your income tax?

Yahoo has an article about saving a nest egg for 40 years by depositing 100 bucks a month into an "investment vehicle" that yields 10% apr.

What is this investment vehicle? Isn't 10% kinda high?
