My webcam will not stay active in MSN Messenger?
Hi,
I'm using the latest version of MSN Messenger however I cannot get my webcam to work properly. It always shuts off a few seconds after connecting.
The other users webcam stays open and I can see them.
I know its not a specific cam as it happens on two webcams on two different PCs, and I've even had this problem on a fresh vista install. Only happens with certain contacts.
Whats up?
3 AnswersMSN1 decade agoOn Guitar Hero World Tour, do I have to buy the entire Metallica album?
I just bought Guitar Hero World Tour for Xbox 360. I want to download 2 or 3 songs from the Metallica album Death Magnetic, but it says "Not sold seperately". Is there a way to get them alone or maybe in a track pack without spending lots of money on the whole album??

3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoThe space in this PCI card is too small?
I bought a PCI USB card for my PC but i cant install it. near the end of the PCI card the little gap between connectors is too narrow for the devider on the PCI slot to fit between. What can I do about this?
Is it my PCs problem, because I have many other PCI devices working fine, or the PCI cards problem?

I live in the UK and have Orange/Wanadoo broadband.
This site either does not or loads very slowly for me. It has done for months. I know its the correct URL. I dont think it can be my PCs problem because ive upgraded to Vista with a clean install since problems began.
Is it just me?

I mainly use my PC for web browsing
5 AnswersMonitors1 decade agoHow can I find out the max resolution of my PC?
Currently my PC runs at 1280x1024 with a 17" standard LCD screen.
Im considering buying this

but would like to know if my PC can support the 1680 x 1050 resolution or any widescreen resolutions.
I dunno how to check this out!
Ive got a dell PC with VGA out and a "Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family" graphics setup.

Will this card work with Windows Vista, and its Aero effects?
I really need a low profile PCI graphics card, as i have no AGP or PCIe connections in my PC
2 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoWhere can I find a low-profile PCI graphics card suitable for Windows Vista Aero?
Preferably on a UK based site, but any link will do so I at least know a brand and model number.
My PC needs a low-profile card (the thin ones), that connects to a PCI slot, not PCIe or AGP. My PC only has a PCI slot. It does have a PCIe slot, but its one of the 1 or 2 inch long really short ones, that a normal PCIe card wont fit in.
So basically I need a PCI Low Profile graphics card that works with Windows Vista Areo Effects
Hopefully quite cheap too. Ive already checked eBay UK and all I can find is Geforce MX, ive googled that and found its very poor, but will it work?
4 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoEvery time I change I drives letter it resets on reboot?
Ive always had my Boot Partition as G drive and my USB HDD as D drive. But all of a sudden it changed to C drive, so I got to disk management via the whole right click my computer thing, and my DVD rom had changed to D drive, to I changed that to E drive and my USB to D drive, and it seemed fine.
Until I next turned on my PC. Everytime I restart Windows XP it goes back to the USB on C DVD on D setup which none of my apps are set up to use and I have to repeat changing them.
How can I stop this happening?
1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoOne of my folders is "Access Denied" in windows after installing Ubuntu?
Since installing Ubuntu, on of the folders on my USB hard drive, is not accessible in Windows, I just always get a error saying Access is Denied. It works fine in Ubuntu and the rest of the drive works fine in Windows XP, its just that folder.
Its a large folder, around 20GB, could that of caused the problem?
How can I fix this because it contains alot of data I need to access in windows?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoI installed Ubuntu 7.10, then Windows XP, now my PC boots to XP without giving me an option?
My PCs Hard Drive definitely has both operating systems, it has an XP Partition, a Ubuntu partition and Ubuntu Swap partition.
Normally I'd install XP then Ubuntu, but this time i installed Ubuntu then XP, now my PC boots to XP without giving me the option to boot to unbuntu.
How can I fix this? I know Ubuntu is still there, and it hasnt erased the partition, but I cant access it.

2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoCan I get radiation posoning by smashing up a CRT TV?
Yesterday I started smashing up a CRT TV, dont ask me why. Whilst i was doing it i heard a puff noise like a baloon going down and realised i think theirs radiation in CRT tubes so I left it.

2 AnswersTVs1 decade agoCan people read all your texts and access your phone if you call them?
Personally, I know this is impossible. But some people just wont believe me, so I'm getting a second opinion everyone can see on here. Apparently, becuase I phoned their landline (UK) from my mobile, they can now read all my texts, look at all my pictures, view my contacts, etc.
Aswell as being impossible to acheive (the most the police can do is listen to your calls and read your incoming/outgoing texts, i think), its also against a ton of laws. Please help me prove em wrong.
3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoMy ADSL internet keeps cutting off?
It started about 45 mins ago. Im with Orange UK. I was browsing as normal, and all of a sudden the ADSL available light went off on my router.
What is happening is my ADSL service seems to keep resetting, every 30 seconds or so. I can connect fine once it finds ADSL on the line but it is losing the ADSL every so often. I thought it could of been something like a power surge messed up the router slightly but I get an identical problem with another modem.
and before someone clever points out "how are you posting this with no access..." im using my phones 3G connection to post ths
