What IRS rules apply if a political party pays to have a booth at a 501c3 nonprofit festival?
I run a small 501c3 nonprofit. We're having a festival with paying vendors (businesses and nonprofits, one of which is a nonprofit lobby group). A political party approached us about having a booth.
IRS docs all talk about the situation of inviting candidates to speak at your event - same thing if it's a party, and they ask us (and pay)?
Must we actively contact every other party to invite them? How do we determine which parties must be asked? The event is in a city park but will draw attendees from the county and beyond. All parties registered or with candidates in our city? County? Our state? Extreme example, what if a party is not active locally but has candidates in another state. A voter from that state could come to our little event and be exposed to a biased group of parties. Where is the line?
I'd really want documentation with any answer, thx.
3 AnswersGovernment & Non-Profit4 years agoWhat are the environmental impacts of dairy?
I am having trouble finding data on this. I am looking for reputable, sourced figures on energy, water, greenhouse gas emissions, land use, and so forth, for U.S. dairy. Something like where one could compare resources per calorie of dairy vs. other foods would be great.
Not really interested in arguments or opinions, just facts, thanks.
3 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoWhat specific candies contain castoreum?
It is probably listed as "natural flavors" on the package. I know it is supposed to enhance raspberry flavors, but is there a list of specific products? It is pureed beaver anus and I would prefer to avoid it.
2 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoAnyone know of a low-phosphorus vegan cat food?
My cat has kidney failure, which requires a low-phosphorus food. Now she has liver cancer. The vet can offer nothing, but I want to try her on a mostly vegan diet. I'll talk to my vet, but I just want to have some ideas to take to her.
My reasoning: in "The China Study," the author did an experiment in which liver cancer in 100% of mice and rats on 5% animal protein diets stopped growing indefinitely, whereas the cancers of 100% of those on 20% animal protein diets grew normally (p.56).
Thanks.
