I'm a stay at home mom to three, twin girls 2 years old and a little boy 7 months old. Yes, I'm busy but I manage! My husband and our children live in the suburbs in the city. I like to read, watch Tv and movies, listen to music, make jewelry, play games, and of course play with my kids.

  • How long should I wait for a reply to my resume?

A replied to a job ad on craigslist that was a couple of weeks old or so. I sent them an email asking them to consider me for the job and my resume was attached. It said it was a law office, but it didn't give the company name, address or phone number, just a craigslist email to reply to. How long should I wait for a response before email again, if at all? I emailed them on Monday.

    Thanks

  • What do I put in my resume?

I am applying for a job at a law firm to be an office clerk/assistant. I am young. I graduated from high school, then I went to college but only really finished one term (three terms in a year) before I met my husband and had twins. I dropped out and have been raising them for about 2-3 years now. I did have a work-study job at the college - it was clerical and probably very similar to what I'll be doing in the law firm. In high school I worked at a day care for my senior year. Before that I did some babysitting and in middle school I had a paper route.

Basically, I have no idea how to organize this or what to put in what order. I really need this job.

Any advice or can you help me organize my information?

    Thanks!

  • Should I get a job while my son is still breastfeeding?

I found a job that pays much better than my husband's, it would be 8 hours a day 5 days a week, and we've been talking about me working while he stays home instead. The only thing that is really making me pause is my 9-month-old son. He is still breastfed. He eats table foods every day and will drink expressed milk from a soft-top sippy cup. The only pump I own is a manual. I am pretty sure I need a double electric, or am I wrong? We really can't afford to buy a $200 pump before I start (we're really strapped for cash or I wouldn't consider it).

What do I need to do to get ready for starting a job, or should I just stay home like I do now? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

  • Can you make hard candy out of soda?

My husband found this delicious new soda, and I really wish I could have it in hard candy form.

Do you know any recipes for making hard candy out of soda?

  • What should I make for dinner tonight?

What should I make for dinner? My husband is working late and he usually cooks, I'm not really that talented in the kitchen LOL. I can make really simple things like quesadillas (had them for lunch already) or anything that takes about 30 minutes to make without pots and pans or an oven. Also, I will be serving it to my two-year-old twin girls. Easy quick recipes please! I'd be willling to try to use the stove or oven if the recipe sounded easy.

And no, I can't order food. Don't have the money.

    Thanks!

  • Breastfeeding a sick baby?

My 7.5-month-old son developed a fever Tuesday around 2 pm, I called the doctor later that day and she said it was probably just a viral thing. I think it is too, because of his symptoms.

He is breastfed, with 2 solid meals a day. Well, he hasn't been eating like he normally does. I don't care that he's not eating his solids, that doesn't matter, but he's not nursing very much either. It almost seems like he can't latch. He acts hungry, and I'll put him to the breast, but he just suckles a tiny bit and unlactches and cries until I sit him upright. He is only having 2-3 good nursing session a day now, which is way down from when he wasn't sick.

We've been giving him acetaminophen to make him feel better, and he'll have times where he seems happy and healthy, but then a couple of hours later he's acting sick again. He's been sleeping a lot too. Normally he takes 1-3 naps in a day for 40 minutes or so, but today he's been sleeping for 2.5 hours after just waking up.

What can I do about my milk supply? My breasts are huge. Should I pump and store it? I normally don't pump at all, but I do own one. Should I wake him up to feed him? I don't know if that would even do any good, because if he didn't want to eat, he wouldn't and he would be cranky and tired.

    Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

  • What can I do about my asthma attack?

I have been having a bad asthma attack for a while now it seems. I have been using my emergency inhailer but it's not helping, so before I went to bed to lay down and go to sleep, I used my nebulizer. I woke up 2 hours later, couldn't breathe. I did another nebulizer then.

Usually I am on advair but I lost mine and can't find it. I've been looking for an hour.

I can't get my breathing under control, I have a massive headache from coughing and wheezing, and I am on the verge of tears.

I can't go to the hospital because I don't have insurance and can't afford it.

I need my advair or a new one, but the doctor's office is closed tommorrow until Monday.

My daughters' (twins) 2nd birthday party is this weekend, I can't go if this is how I'm feeling but I don't want to miss it.

What can I do right now at home to make my breathing better?

  • What should I name my jewelry business?

I want to start selling all the jewelry I've made, but I can't come up with a name.

I would like it to have something to do with "creating" because I will eventually be selling crocheted things as well, and I'm creative, so there might be something else down the line I'd add to sell.

My name is Katy, do you like Katy's Creations? I want something cute and unique, and maybe something whimsical.

    Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

  • I have a custody question?

I married my husband a few years ago. He already had three children from a previous marriage. He doesn't see his kids very much, because we live in such a small place it's hard for three more to sleep here, and he's been working most weekends. He tells me that when they got divorced, they had a loose arrangement that he was supposed to get the kids every other weekend. He hasn't seen them in a while, about a month, and even that was at someone else's party. We are having a birthday party for our twin girls this Sunday at a park, and we invited his kids. Their mom says they are not going because they will get heat stroke. It's only going to be 80 degrees with no humidity.

My question is, can she keep them from seeing him/coming to the party? Does he have any legal right to go get them whether she says yes or not? I've heard of strict custody arrangements and the cops are called and they have to follow the exact letter in the agreement. The only problem is that he says it was never strict, and he lost that paper a long time ago.

  • What should I do about my son's birthday so close to Christmas?

My son will be 1 on December 29, 2010. It's so close to Christmas, I'm afraid our family won't want to travel or even gather for a party for him (some of our family lives in the next state), let alone buy gifts. Plus, we'll have spent so much on Christmas (we have twin 2-year-old girls also), how will we even afford a party?

My husband said we should have a huge "birthday celebration" for all three kids in June every year. That way, they all get gifts and a party, they just share. The girls' birthday is in August, but we don't want to just celebrate them all then because then it's like he's taking over their birthday. If we did that, we'd have the big party, then on their actual birthdays we would just have a small family celebration.

What are your thoughts? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  • Can you help me plan my 2-year-olds' party?

I have twin girls that are going to be 2 this weekend on Saturday. I feels so confused and overwhelmed, I need to get the details sorted out. Can you help?

    Here's some background:

We're having it in a park with a pond nearby (not for swimming or anything). There are picnic tables and that's where we'll be set up. There's playground equipment nearby and lots of grassy areas.

We'll be serving cut-up fruit, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, things like that.

I've invited several kids, though my girls are the youngest with the exception of a 1-year-old, and lots of adults, all their aunts and uncles and grandparents and some friends of the family too.

Here is what needs to be decided:

What should my girls wear? I bought them some beautiful birthday dresses but should they wear them at the park? Or should they wear them for a little bit and change before eating/playing?

Should we have games? It is a park, and there's other things for the big kids to do already.

How should we decorate? I don't have a theme other than pink and yellow, and it's just two or three picnic tables, no shelter or anything.

Any other suggestions or ideas would be great! Thanks!

  • Know any good recipes for toddlers?

I've been at a loss for ideas for breakfast and lunch. These days are really hectic for me as my 7 month old always wants to be held.

My twin girls are 2 years old, and they're not picky and they don't have any food allergies. I just need new ideas for their breakfast and lunch, something that's not too hard (like lasagna) and that would incorporate ingredients I have around or could easily buy.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

  • What's a good remedy for sore nipples?

My son is breast feeding, has been for 7 months. He now has his two middle bottom teeth, and sometimes he bites me and it hurts a lot. What can I do to make the pain stop or feel better? And stopping breast feeding isn't an option, it's not THAT bad, just enough to make me wish I had a cure.
