my dog started coughing 2 days ago i fort he had something in his throat. over night it dissapered and next morning came back today he has started coughing blood. now my other dog is starting to cough and i am worried it is catching. shall i keep them apart. i also have cats. what could this be. he has vets tomoz so dont go stressing i am a bad owner i have insurance and everything just wondered what it could poss be and if it has allready been caught by my other dog and can my cats get it??

firstly I will say I have been out of a job for 2 months I have a new job lined up ready to start in 2 weeks I have no income and no spare money at the moment to afford all the vet charges. I would like a bit of help with out any sarcastic rude or nasty comments. I can afford to look after all my animals and am a good pet owner all my animals have insurance apart from rufus as his insurance ran out 3 days before he had a injury to his leg and I had to spend my savings on his vet bills, because it is ongoing treatment no insurance will take him.

My 2 dogs were playing in the park, buddy bowled Rufus over and when Rufus got up he helps and had a 5inch bit of glass from a broken bottle sticking out of his side. Pulling it out I realise only about 1 cm had gone in I brought him home and cleaned the wound with salty water th had gone throught his skin and only pierce abut of his flesh so not to deep. I have been cleaning it and dressing it with cotten wool and bandage wrap. It is healthy and clean.

My question is.. is there anything I cane use to put on it to help it heal ect or anything I can do.

I have pain medication from his leg opperation the vet said is fine to give him but aside from taking him to the vet which I am trying to get the funds for.
