I have a RAM problem. I have 256k, but only 128k is recognized.

I have two 128k memory. It used to recognize that it had 256k but I had some virus issues. I had to do a system recovery, which worked, but in doing so I also reset the diagnostics to default (F10), for reasons I thought would help. I do have a disk that has saved settings from a previous date that I would try and I thought of doing a system recovery to even an earlier date, but I don't think either will work. I also tried removing and replacing both memory cards.
