When i watch trailer park boys and they are playing hockey the teams have a letter a or c, what does it mean?
1 AnswerComedy9 years agoWhy does British TV make so few episodes in a season?
I have been watching BBC America here in the USA, and I have noticed there are only a few episodes made per season.
A few examples.
Spaced only had 7 episodes a season.
Being Human only hs about 7.
And Doctor Who only has about 10 per season.
Why so few?
Does the BBC repeat the same 7 to 10 episodes like 5 times through out the year?
Or does the BBC make numerous mini series that fill the same time slots?
7 AnswersOther - Television1 decade agoLeft 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2?
I was never a big fan of first person video games a few examples of games I have tried but was not impressed with are, Gears of War and Star Wars Republic Command.
A few weeks ago I was turned on to the Left 4 Dead games and I think they are really coo (maybe it is the zombie aspect).
Anyways I was wondering if anyone can suggest games similar to Left 4 Dead?
Are the extra downloads for the game worth it?

8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoFor people that think Sarah Palin is leadership material?
During the election season, we saw video of Sarah Palin involved in some sort of witch doctor thing to ward off devils.
We also seen her embarrassing interview where she choked on the simple question of what she reads.
And lately she was a celebrity audience member at a show called Dancing with the Starts, because her daughter was a contestant.
And now, I heard Sarah Palin had a "reality" TV show, I have never seen it but I have seen clips.
I personally think this type of entertainment is pretty low brow.
Now today I see Sarah is doing or has done a "reality" show cross over with that train wreck of a women Kate Gosslin. Kind of like when Mork went to visit the Fonz.
For people that support her political ambitions, does this cause you to take pause and reconsider her qualifications?
Is this really the type of person you want leading policy or political discourse?
If this type of activity does not effect your opinion, what would she actually need to do for you as a support to finally realize the queen is naked?

I came across this pod cast about 6 months ago, it's called We're alive.
It has a fantastic story line about a zombie apocalypse and a high production value. Best of all it's free.
3 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWhat is a more important issue?
When I woke up this morning I saw a brief thing on the news that North Korea had bombed South Korea. Being that I think this is a rather significant development I wanted to hear more. So I flipped the channels between FOX, CNN, HLN, and MSNBC.
Judging by the time they devoted to stories I would have to say there were at least 2 more important events then the attack #1) the jaw bone found in Aruba and #2) The Royal Wedding in April.
Does anybody else see a problem here?
5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat issue is more important?
This morning when I woke up I saw on the news that north and south korea were exchanging fire.
To me this is a big deal.
But judging by FOX, CNN, and MSNBC issues more important are a jaw bone found in Aruba and the royal wedding next spring.
Any thoughts on this?
3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoI need help finding a verse from the New Testament?
I can't recall to many details, it seems to me the Pharisees were trying to trick Jesus, but I know Jesus says something along the lines of "I did not come to rewrite scripture but to full fill it".
I have seen where instead of scripture it also said law.
Anyone know where I can find this?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow much of a root system can I cut out without causing to much damage to a tree?
I would like to pour a patio and pout in a retaining wall in my back yard. The patio will be about 10 feet from a large maple tree (10 diameter trunk). I have done some exploration with a shovel and know there will be some roots in the way. Is there a rule of thumb or some guide line to follow so not to take to many roots.
Any links or input would be appreciated.
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHas anyone called deep water horizon responce?
What did you think?
I called and I am of the conclusion that it is nothing more then a PR stunt to "empower" the little man so that he can feel his voice is being heard.
The person that answered the phone could not answer the simplest of questions and she only knew 1 web site that might be able to help and that was BP's propaganda web site.
I called a few other numbers associated with BP and the operators just referred my to the same hotline that could not give me any info.
2 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat does this Spanish word mean?
The word is pronounced mo-HOW but I suspect it's spelled something like this: mojow.
In case my source was correct and to be "PC" I need to set up the situation.
I live in a neighborhood that has a majority of undocumented immigrants. So the neighborhood dialect is English, Spenglish, Spanish, and Spanglish.
Anyway I was at one of the local watering holes and a friend form the hood walked in and yelled, "Mojow in the house!"
I asked my friend what the word meant and he told me it was like "wet b@ck". (My friend when he originally came to the states was undocumented.)
So what does the word mean, what is the connotation associated with it, i.e., is it slang, is it an endearing term, is it an insult?
7 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoDo you want to listen to a great story?
I came across this audio drama a few days ago called "We're alive".
It is a real gripping story about a zombie apocalypse. There are some new and unique twist on the zombies. The story is about 10 hours long and it's broken up into 15-25 minute chapters.
I just finished listening to every thing they have on line right now, unfortunately they won't have anymore chapters until the fall of 2010.
2 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoStar Wars rumors from the past?
I was watching Revenge of the Sith tonight on Spike and as I watching the light saber fight between Obi-wan and Anakin it got me thinking about things I heard (rumors) when I was a kid and the direction the movies would go.
I was 10 when New Hope came out and back then I recall a few rumors on the direction the prequels and sequels would take. Some of which have been very accurate.
#1. Darth Vader wore the helmet and was part robot because Obi-wan made him fall in some molten metal.
#2. R2D2 and CP3O would be the only characters that would tie all the story lines together- Also that they had been owned by Darth Vader.
#3. The final battle would take place on the Wookie planet. Although that did not happen it took place on a mini-Wookie planet.
My question is how were my "rumors" so accurate?
Were there leaks from the Skywalker Ranch or were there novels written back then that were the history of a New Hope?
4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoIs this in part a quote from the Crow?
Sometime ago I read a parable on line of a story about some bugs that lived on the surface of a puddle. Around this puddle were spiders that if they got the chance would snatch a bug off the puddle wrap it in a web and eventually suck the juices out of the bug. The spiders would then throw the carcass back into the water and the puddle slowly was giving way to the carcasses to the point that at some time in the future the spiders would be able to walk on the carcasses and just catch the bugs and feed on them at will.
At the end of the story it says something like "Now I know why Jesus wept mother f@#ker"
I have tried to find this story again but all I have found was some indication that the author of the Crow is credited for the line in quotations.
Is the story attached to the quote?
Is anybody familiar with the story?
Any information would be appreciated.
1 AnswerComics & Animation1 decade agoInsect that can digest insulation?
I asked this question earlier but had no luck.
A few years ago I heard about a bug that can digest insulation (the stuff around a wire) I have done searches but have been unable to find anything.
I am specifically interested in the evolution of this bug.
Does anyone know the name of this species?

No propaganda please.

7 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDavid Lynch's Eraserhead-what the heck?
I just watched eraserhead and I thought it was boring and disturbing but for some reason I was compelled to watch it. After it was over I looked for some information about the movie. The stuff that was online was limited to wikipedia and rotten tomatoes. Basically what I came away with is the critics think this movie is some sort of masterpiece, the Library of Congress thinks it's an important film and Lynch has called it his most spiritual movie.
I just don't see it.
On review said the movie was about men's fear of parenthood.
Is there a web site out there that will explain what I am missing- or can some one tell me what this movie is about?
3 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWhat is the name of the song in a Bacardi commercial?
A few months back Bacardi (I think) had a commercial with a song playing. The commercial was of a guy walking through a super big, dream like bar. At the end he gets up to the counter to get his bacardi drink- I think it was called something like mojito. What is the song playing?
