Looking for assistance in choosing photo editing software?
My children participate in the 4H photography project in our county. Even though very little photo editing is done in our county, a recent trip to our state fair allowed them a glimpse into the possibilities that exist using photo editing software. I would like to purchase a program for them that will be good to get them started while they are still showing interest and will allow growth as they develop confidence. Would appreciate a recommendation.
5 AnswersPhotography10 years agoSeeking advice on a mid grade sewing machine?
My thirteen year old daughter will be entering her fifth year in the sewing project for 4H. This year she would like to tackle more advanced sewing projects and possibly quilting. She is beginning to outpace the capabilities of the $150 Brother machine we purchased for her in her second year in the project. Any advice or opinions on a mid priced sewing machine would be appreciated.
One of the patterns she has purchased as a potential project for this year would require either four layers of fleece or two layers of fleece and two layers of a cotton fabric. Her machine can not handle this.

3 AnswersHobbies & Crafts10 years agoNeed assistance in finding on line research/information for fifth grade science project?
I am trying to help my son with a science project for school. He has chosen to fling ping pong balls with a catapult and determine if the mass of the ping pong ball will affect the distance it will travel. While the execution of the project has been fairly straight forward, we have had difficulty finding research material to help him understand what might happen and further explain why he has the results he does when the project is complete.
My son is ten. He has the reading comprehension of a ten year old -- meaning I am not going to lie and say he borders on genius and will understand college level information. I would appreciate any guidance you might provide in helping us find research, either on line or a title of a book we might find at the local bookstore or library, that he might be able to understand.
2 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agoA question about showing a guinea pig?
My daughter has a pair of peruvian guinea pigs that came to us through a rescue situation and promptly became her buddies and 4H project. This is her first year in the project and there is a lot we obviously don't know about showing animals. While she got high marks for his appearance, health, weight, and condition of his coat, she was told that next year she might consider "tying" his hair for the show. Unfortunately, the judge did not have any time at the end of the show to provide a little education on the subject. Can anyone tell us what this means and point us in the right direction for more detailed information?
2 AnswersRodents1 decade agoI am trying to help my sixth grader do homework and discover yet again that I just don't get modern math?
My daughter's math tonight includes finding mode, means and median. After some reading, I discover that mode is interpreted as the number most often repeated. What happens if no number is repeated?
For example: 1.6, 1.7, 1.8
Means would be 1.7 because that is the average?
Median would be 1.7 because that is the middle number?
Mode -- well there is nothing repeated, so I don't know how to help her.
