Middle aged, married, two kids. Hunter, shooter, farmer. Work in civil construction field. Brew my own beer. Honestly believe that everyone needs to be responsible for their own safety. Honestly believe that most people cause their own problems. Pursue Mid-evail combat as a hobby. Most of the people I fight are half my age and whine when I hit them "to Hard" but I wear less armor than they do.

  • Fuel System Reset 1995 Nissan Pathfinder?

Lost my water pump on the way home from work. Sudden engine shut down causes fuel system to be shut off. I've replaced the water pump (and timing belt, fan clutch and radiator, oh yes, it all went at once, at 60 MPH.) My Haynes Manual doesn't seem to help me find the reset. Any help out there.

NOTE-I just changed the timing belt because I was in the area.

  • Colt Officers model. 1911a1?

I recently inherited at Colt Officers Model. It's in about 90% condition. I've been using it for a carry gun. I was recently told that there is a possibility of the recoil spring plug failing, allowing the recoil spring to launch out of the gun and making it a high end single shot.

I've checked different places and I cannot find any mention of this defect.

Has anyone hear heard of this failure? I'm about to the point of disregarding it. But I'd hate for it to fail in the middle of a gun fight.

  • 1988 Isuzu Trooper- Throttle Position Sensor adjustment.?

My trooper needed a new TPS. So I changed it. It's now running much better. The question comes to this. Is there a way to adjust the TPS? I notice it has slots on the mounting brackets. My Haynes Manual says nothing about an adjustment, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Any Isuzu Mechanics out there who can give the definitive answere?

  • Firing Pin Length for Model 170 Savage?

Years ago I worked as a gunsmith. I guy brought me his model 170 savage saying it wouldn't fire. I checked it, it wouldn't fire. I was thinking crud had built up behind the fireing pin and proceeded to disassemble to clean it out. When I got it apart the firing pin was bent and dragging on the side of the firing pin hole. The only explination I can think of is excessive dry firing caused the pin to streech, then it was fired and the reduced travel caused the pin to bend. I've straightend the pin, though I haven't rehardened it yet. (I also ordered a new firing pin.)

    Now the questions:

    1) What is the correct length for this firing pin? I've gone through all my old stuff and I cannot find it anywhere.

    2) If I cannot find the proper length then we go back to partrussion length. With the firing pin (It's a 2 Peice) in the forward postion, hammer at rest against the pin, how much pin should project from the bolt face?

  • Where can I find detailed plans for a Snaphance lock?

I've long wanted a snaphance locked musket. I've seen several original Dutch model locks inside and out, but never when I can photogragh and measure. Winter is coming on and this should be a challenging project. It will be challenging enough with directions. I'll do it without if I must, but it'll take longer.

  • In the USA, who should be permitted to carry a concealed weapon?

    I'm looking for opinion here.

Why should a certain person or group be excluded?

Should we limit the type of weapon that can be carried?

Should CC be federalized and a national permit issued?
