  • day out tomorrow... rain... west midlands. 9yr old

    Hi all,

does anyone have any suggestions to something I could do with my lil bro tomorrow. We'd planned to go to west mids safari park, but its pretty much going to be a wash out!

any ideas folks? My Brother is 9...well almost 10, and has been stuck in moms since the holidays began. I'd like to do something other than sitting around my house watching DVD's.

Money isn't much of an issue, and I have a car, so I'm really open to suggestions please!

  • Waiting for my wedding dress... is this normal?

    HIya,

I ordered my dress two months ago, and its due to be ready mid to late october... my question is... is it normal to not hear anything from them between now and then? I don't expect a daily call saying "Hi Miss Smith, they're still working on your dress" lol, just wondered what the norm is.

  • Wedding Jewellery advice please?

this weekend my FH asked if I'd thought about my jewellery... which I hadn't! and I've seen a few questions around necklaces today, so I'm asking for your advice/suggestions.

this is the dress, and my hair will be up... what shape necklace? pearls? Diamond? I don't even know where to start!

  • Bridal hair suggestions please?

    Hi all,

    this is my dress

    http://www.morilee.com/DressDetail.aspx?C=1&D=2142...

what style hair do you suggest? My face is round and I'm a shortie (5' 1") I have a trial coming up and I know they'll help but I'd like to go armed with a few ideas :S

also, I'd like a tiara and a small vail at the back, but a couple of my friends have said that as the dress has the shawl, the vail would be too much. What are your opinions on this?

I'm really stuck on the hair, any pictures would really be appreciated!

    Thanks all

  • Irrational Fears?

ok, well more like worries, but I'm wondering if anyone else went through this.

example... I'm worrying that the Rev who is performing the ceremony will be ill or unable to make it for some reason, at the last minute and have NO replacement...

I'm worried that my lovely reliable friends will suddenly let me down...

People will be very drunk and act a fool (not likely)

the bridesmaids will be snotty and not wear the dresses/shoes/hair properly... and there will be nothing I can do about it.

Now i KNOW they are irrational, but what can I do to stop myself?

    woah...

so when did you feel this?

  • Carribean Food Buffet style...veggie option?

My Fiances family are cooking the food for our wedding... the usual... curried mutton, jerk chicken etc etc and we are serving it buffet style with people serving. Only one problem, My lil sister (not so little any more, she is 20!) is a veggie, although she doesnt really like veg (?!?!) she doesnt eat salad or veg stew type thing.

Any Suggestions for an alternative for her? or any other veggies.

I was thinking perhaps a veggie lasagne (she is difficult bless her!), but how do we ensure the meat eaters dont eat it all, leaving nothing for the veggies? I've seen that happen many times!

My sister said she will just help herself to what ever doenst have meet in it, which right now leaves her eating rice & peas, with a dumplin or two...

  • walking down the aisle... alone?

I'm trying to figure out how to get down the aisle

I haven't seen my real father for around14 years, and couldn't find him even if i wanted to (I really dont) and I'm not close to my stepdad at all.

I wanted the ask my Grandad, but he is very ill and can't walk very far at all, so I thought about getting my younger brother (10 yrs old) to walk me, and "hand me over" to my Grandad who will give me away kinda... (hope im not babbling on tooooo much) but recently he's started to lose his marbles... his mother had althziemers so we're worried it may be that... so now I'm stuck.

Is it acceptable to walk down the aisle alone in a Church of England wedding, or would it look a bit off? Perhaps I could ask my godfather, though he won't be able to make it to any rehersal...

    i'm well and truly lost.

    Hey all,

how many of you have been, or are on a wedding day diet?

if so, how did you get on, and what approach did you take?

how much did you hope to/actually lose?

My Wedding is in 6 months (a bit short notice from the lovely fiance, but thats men and I can't wait!) and I hope to lose around 2 stone... or 30lbs.

it may be an idea for us that are, to kinda support each other with ideas and tips etc... regular updates on how were doing, just to nudge each other along...

    what'd ya think?

  • Dreams about faeces and public toilets?

Last night I dream that I had to use the bathroom, and did a number 2. It blocked the toilet and when I flushed, the toilet flowed over.

I knew the woman working in the toilets, she was either a friend/colleague/relative and i was so embarresed, at first I tried to sneak out with no-one knowing it was me, but when I was seen, I went back to clean it up, even picking "stuff" off the floor. It was much more embarresment than disgust.

In real life, I am really uncomfortable "going" in public/work toilets and much prefer to wait until I go home, of ensure no one else is around.

What does it mean? It was very vivid and I remember every detail, which is rare for me.

    Thanks all

  • Fixing shelves to stud walls?

I have just bought a new apartment and have been told that all the internal walls are stud walls. I know when fixinf anything to them you will need to use the raw plugs/screws for plasterboard. Does anyone have and other advice for fixing shelves/pictures to the walls?

Is it safe to do so, or will it damage that wall/fall off? etc

    any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
