  • Why is original version of Every Breath You Take by the Police out of tune?

When played live by the Police or Sting it's played in the key of A. So that seems to be the correct or intended key. However, the recording sounds out of tune so that it seems to be closer to Ab than A, but anyway not in tune with Ab either. It could be a problem with tape speed on a machine at recording time, it could be they would have used some instrument that could not be tuned (I read somewhere the vocal might have been recorded over an organ background) so they tuned other instruments to match it or it could have been intentional, which I kind of doubt.

    Any information about that anywhere?

  • Approximate cost to fix 32" JVC Tube TV possible vertical deflection problem?

    Hello,

    I have a 32" Tube TV model AV-32950, similar to this http://www.amazon.com/JVC-AV32120-AV-32120-32-TV/d...

It's been sitting unused for a couple of years and was wondering, ballpark, how much a repair would cost to decide if worth it.

The symptoms are that the picture collapsed into a single horizontal line in the middle of the screen. From what I've been able to research, I believe this is a "vertical deflection" problem.

When the problem began, the picture collapsed during viewing and tapping the set on the side would restore the image. Seemed like some connection or part would have been loose. After some time the tapping didn't work anymore.

I understand it could be a couple of different things and diagnosis is needed. I'd expect most of the cost would be labor and perhaps a .50 cent part. :-) Since this thing weighs around 100 pounds, what is a typical extra charge for in home servicing?

    Thanks for the help.
