Carpe Diem

I manage a small medical office where there is one doctor and one assistant who assists during medical procedures. The assistant went to the ER after complaining of a chest pain and that was yesterday at noon. Still we haven't heard what is going on and how many days she will be out. Mean while our office is suffering because the doctor has to do the procedures alone or i have to help out in assisting and managing the office. I called a temp agency yesterday and because i didn't give enough days notice the agency didn't have anyone for us. Even if they did it take weeks or months to train someone so they can function to full capacity. If she is not returning to work it'd helpful to know so that we can prepare for it. We left numerous message at her and her husband's phone without any answer. After some investigating we learn through her aunt that they are just keep her at the hospital for some observations. I became furious at her inconsideration for us at the office. Am I unreasonable?

I live on the east coast, and I try to visit my parents on the west coast at least once a year. They decided to live there because they wanted to live closer to my sister. The last time I visited them back in July with my wife and daughter, I sent three texts: a few days before, the night before, then the morning of. When we arrived, my mother was surprised to see us, but she had no idea where my father went. When I called him, no answer, but when I called my sister, she said that dad can't come to see us because he is too busy doing work on her house.

By now I don't have to tell you that our family is dysfunctional. My dad is not upset or have beef with me as far as I know. This is just the way he is, very insensitive. He lives with two mentally ill people, my psychotic mother who's not taking any meds and my schizophrenic brother who is also not taking his meds. He blames his actions on them.

I was furious. Each time he acts like this I feel abandoned from the family. I feel embarrassed and terrible to show how unwelcome we are to my own family. I try to talk to him about it, but each time I do he uses mom and my brother as an excuse. My sister is no different. Even though it is her who got all of them to California, she blames me for not taking care of my parents. She has convinced my dad to purchase the house she is living in and somehow she's help purchase dad's house in her name. I didn't say anything since the money is not mine, and i really don't want to tell my dad how to spend his money. My dad has never visited me in the last ten years. If and when he calls, it is because he needs something. When I call him he has nothing to say and just wants to hang up.

I am at a point where I don't want to see him or talk to him anymore. I tried to see from his perspective of living a stress life, but I would never treat my son the way he has treated me.

It's unusual that I remember my dreams, but this one was so vivid it woke me up. I was fishing in a broad day light and a group of killer whales came and took my bait. When I finally reeled it up, head of the whale landed next to my thigh. and it looked dead. The creepy sensation woke me up.

After an argument (more like a shouting match) my wife slams the door behind her for days. Yes, its childish and her parents raised spoiled, but most of all, I know she is doing this just to annoy me. I can always not take out the trash, not help out with the dishes and not do the vacuum just to annoy her but that is childish and I would feel ridiculous acting that way. I can't believe she is 38 years old. Please tell me not all women are like this...

I really enjoy coming home after a full day of work to eat, exercise and watch TV. To some this may sound lame, but for me this is paradise. I hang with my girlfriend during weekends and she comes over a few times a week. But lately she's been hinting that she wants to get married. She already knows I don't want kids. So what is the point? And why ruin a good thing? Living with any woman will ruin my life.

It interferes with my job performance. I have such an irritability I wonder how people put up with me.

It has been shown again and again that not having a stable family foundation contributes to poor academic performance, poverty and reliance on government entitlements. So then why are black males behave this way?

I was at Chipotle restaurant and the woman in front of me had ten individual orders and i was in a hurry. Had i known that she had that many i would have gone to next door for lunch. I wonder where is the cut off line for one person ordering for multiple people before other customers waiting start to get pissy?

What is the cost($) associated with charging up Chevy Volt battery each time in today's electricity rate?

How can I become more tolerant of others' mistakes that affect my job performance? In a big picture, we all have to work together. Once I get angry it's take awhile for it to subside. This one of my short comings, and it has been bothering me for a long time. Any good advice? Thanks.

I am a Christian, and I was shocked to find out that this has been going on for a long time. Jews aren't perfect either but spitting on another because religious differences? They have sunken to new low. Many Christians refused to believe this because our media would naturally filter things like this out. Can you imagine if this happened to Jews in the states? It be a different story, wouldn't it be? Is it even a crime in Israel?

Very weird and shocked. I am sure not all Jews to this, but more than i imagine when I heard it. Google this and your will find out. There are Israeli TV shows mocking the Holy Crucifixion as well. In our country this would be called hate crime but not in Israel. The government generally discourage this but it is not yet a crime. Surprised?

I took my 21-month old girl to a neighborhood playground to learn that she is absolutely TERRIFIED of this one old lady who is a care taker for another kid. My past babysitter used to befriend that woman before she moved to another state. I don't know what it is, but that old lady must have done something to my baby. Do you think she disciplined my baby?
