  • San Francisco Tiger Attack?

Did you all catch the article today that the tiger was being taunted by those kids? BIG SURPRISE THERE. The brothers who survived are actually due in court later this month on some other disorderly conduct charge. So in short, the poor tiger had to die and these kids will continue to be menaces to society for years to come until one day we are all paying taxes to support them in jail. Does anyone else think it's a total disgrace that they killed the tiger instead of letting the zookeepers do their jobs and tranquilize it instead?

  • This is going to sound goofy....?

I have three cats: two males and a female. The males pick on my poor little girl all the time. The younger male is just playing with her but the older one is really mean to her, even though he's a nice cat. Anyway, when he wants to pounce on her and I yell at him, he actually chatters like he's looking at prey that he can't get to!!!! He is 21 pounds and she is 8 pounds and he can really overpower her. It seems that he just wants her to leave the room and then he's happy, but I worry about what goes on when I'm not home. Has anyone else experienced one of their cats chattering at another one or aggressive behavior like this? What did you do about it?

  • Is it illegal to not get cats vaccinated for rabies?

I have three indoor cats that NEVER go outside. Once I got my one cat a rabies and distemper shot and he was very, very sick for days. He was puking up dark red blood, very lethargic, couldn't eat or drink, etc. Eventually he got better. But I don't want to put him through that again, esp. when he never goes outside. So my question is, are we required to get them yearly rabies shots or can we refuse them if we take the cat to the vet for treatment for something else?

  • What is your favorite thing to do for New Year's Eve?

I like to spend a quiet evening with my husband and plan what we want to do in the coming year. Just curious what anyone else out there likes to do.

  • How can I settle a skittish cat?

I have three cats, one female and two males. The female cat has been skittish since we brought her home (1.5 years ago). The male cats like to play with each other, but every time they try to play with her, she panics and runs away. I feel bad for her because it's like she's living her life just completely stressed out. Putting her in a separate room just makes her cry. I have gotten them feliway and it seems to help a little, but I was just wondering if there was anything else I haven't thought of that might help her. She is skittish with me and my husband, too. She has never been abused or anything like that.
