22"Have[f] faith in God," Jesus answered. 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."[g]

7 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoJehovah's witness how should I handle this situation with my sister in law?
We were supposed to celebrate Easter and my daughter's birthday yesterday at my aunt's house but my aunt missed her flight and changed the party for next week. The problem is my sister in law who is jw is coming next week for a few days. She lives very far away and does not visit often. I will feel like a horrible hostess if I leave her alone all day at my house while we go to a party. It will also be a waste of our precious time together since we live so far away. But I also do not want to compromise Easter Sunday with my family and my daughter's birthday. This is also very important for me. In this situation would it be okay for her to come to my aunt's house and just leave the room while we're doing Easter baskets and cake?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoMcDonalds employees, is it possible to order a big breakfst w/ hot cates and NO eggs?
I just took my kids to McDonalds as a special treat after they got their shots and I tried to order a big breakfast with hot cakes but without eggs. The cashier seemed very confused and kept trying to ring each item up seperately instead of as a meal - three hot cakes and one sausage, a hash brown, and a biscuit. This was of course more expensive. I could have simply scraped the egg off the plate and saved a dollar. When I kept asking her if she couldn't order the Big Breakfast and put in special linstructions for no egg she called another employee over who appeared to be a manager and asked her what to do. The manager did the exact same thing: she ordered everything a la carte instead of as a meal. They were clearly short-staffed and backed up so I didn't press the issue any more.
Were these employees really correct?
Are you really not able to order a big breakfast with hot cakes no egg?
Next time I will save all the trouble and scrape the egg off.
6 AnswersFast Food9 years agoJehovah's witnesses and other Christians, may I ask a question regarding John 10:24-39?
John 10:24-39
New International Version (NIV)
24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[a]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’[b]? 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside— 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? 37 Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. 38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” 39 Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp.
Why do the Jews accuse Jesus of blasphemy?
Why does Jesus say that the Jews are accusing Him of blasphemy?
Why does Jesus say that they are stoning Him for claiming to be God's son when they say that they are stoning Him for claiming to be God?
There is something that seems to be almost deceptive about Jesus' words here. It seems that Jesus openly refers to himself as God's son throughout the gospels and no one gets too bent out of shape over it. At times the Jews were confused about His reference to God as His father and at other times they were clearly annoyed but (correct me if I'm wrong) most of the time people just seemed to ignore it.
Was Jesus being a little sly? Was He changing the subject? What was He doing by saying this?
Please seek the Lord in prayer and humility before answering this question. This is a sincere question. It is not an attempt to start a debate or to prove that Jesus either is or is not God,
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWill you please pray for my pastor who appears to have a brain tumor - I don't know if it is cancerous?
His name is Parker. He is the assistant pastor and he has seven children aged 13 years to years old. His wife stays home in order to school the children. They moved here from another state to help us out about year and a half ago. We are a small church and cannot afford to put him on the payroll so he has been supporting his family by painting and remodeling homes. Please pray that the Lord will have mercy and will not take him home right now. His children and his wife need him very much. Please that the Lord will comfort them and give peace. Please ask that he will provide for them financially while Parker cannot work. Please pray for healing and for the souls of those who will be in contact with this family.
Thank you to all who are willing to pray.
In Christ,
Karen

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIs parental discipline always associated with spanking in the bible?
Is parental discipline usually spoken of in a general way or is it usually associated with spanking. I know that it is sometimes associated with spanking but I would like to know how it is most often demonstrated in the bible.
Thanks.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agowhat verses in the bible specifically mention spanking?
How many verses mention the rod? Are there any verses that specifically mention spanking which cannot be understood as discipline on the whole but can only refer to hitting a child with a rod as a form of discipline.
I would really like an exhaustive list if possible (or a really helpful link).
Thanks!

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoJehovah's Witnesses, when you think of the reality of the Resurrection do your emotions and your heart cry out?
to Jesus, "My Lord and my God"?
I'm not asking if you believe that Jesus is God or if we should pray to Him because I know that you don't, but rather, I would like to know if there are times when your heart yearns to bow down before Jesus and cry out My Lord and My God in the same manner that Thomas did.
I appreciate and thank you for all sincere answers.

9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoJehovah W's & others In the Old Testament, does the term Mighty God ever refer to anyone besides God and Jesus?
I'm asking this question because Jehovah's Witnesses say that Jesus is a mighty god but not Almighty God. I understand that humans (and I think angels) are occasionally referred to as gods (usually translated as judges in English). I also know that Yahweh is referred to as both Almighty God and Mighty God.
I do not want to start a debate on the Trinity so I would really appreciate it if answerers stick to the usage of God/god in the Old Testament.
If you chose to answer this question please pray first that the Holy Spirit will guide you and teach you and ask the Lord that He will speak with you and He will be with all those who read this question.
Thank you.
