I wondered if anyone knew about grandfather clocks. I have one that tends to stop just after it has been wound up ( using hanging chains ). As the days go along it gets better. I'm careful not to over wind it. I wondered if it might be dirty. If it is, what is the best way to clean it? It is an eight day movement if that matters,

I usually work in metal, but I have a project which would be ideally suited to using heat formed plastic. I've looked in craft stores and on ebay but it's all from the USA.

Hi - I would like a phrase translating into German please, Can anyone help ? The phrase is - " Passion in the red drops. Joy from the white drops" ( the drops being drops of fluid, like blood.) I've tried the translate bots and whey want to talk about wine for some reason :D The white drops are semen and the red are blood, as you may have guessed. Its for a short story I'm writing. I've seen advice about using lemon oil to clean and condition guitar fretboards, however I have also seen others saying it can harm your fretboard. My fretboard is rosewood. Has anyone got any advice on what products you have used and would recommend, thanks :)

My fiancé is from New York. We both live in the UK as she has dual citizenship as naturalised British ( her Dad was in the forces and she moved around a lot ) Our plan is to get married and live in the UK for a few years ( 2 - 3 ) What conditions would I have to meet after that to be able to live and work in the USA. My girlfriend hasn't lost any rights and is still a full US citizen i.e green card, voting and family etc. she also has a business in the US that her brother runs for her. I suppose I'm asking if I can get US citizenship or similar.

My Facebook account keeps sending me notifications to leave a comment on friends pages. Its so annoying. Does it happen to everyone, and does anyone know if you can stop them. I log in and have thirty something notifications, and more then half are telling me to make a comment on someone elses page. If it can't be stopped I'm ditching it.

Facebook keeps giving me notifications saying "Leave a comment on 'friends name' status" - Its very annoying because I think it is something interesting and its just rubbish. This is on the facebook site, not in my emails. The red notification number comes up and I'll have 2 or 3 of the stupid messages every hour or so. Is it a bug with facebook. I'd be grateful for any help.

How do you know a question has a picture attached and how do you open them. I have read a few questions where people have referred to photos that I just can't find, no links or anything. I'm very confused :/

My wife and I split up from each other about 3 years ago. I moved back to my home town 50 miles away, but I still commute to work, where I used to live.
