  • Photography close up with the moon/sun?

Ok.. so I just saw this photograph of the eclipse from the other week with a person standing infront of it on the hill. the eclipse was incredibly close!! just see this link

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2012/05/pi...

How can the sun and moon appear so gigantic while this person is standing right there facing it!?!?! I'm really confused. was this location at a much higher altitude?! I've never seen anything like this.

  • I saw my ex and we were walking the opposite direction a few feet away?

But I could tell that he saw me and just completely looked the other way. I've seen him a couple times and he's done the same thing. I don't even expect him to say hello or anything.. I'm just wondering what the hell his problem is. I thought he was mature enough esp during our breakup almost a year ago. But his actions are so stupid. He even has a girlfriend who was right next to him by the way. And just fyi, we're almost mid-twenties. I'm not trying to get worked up about this but I just wanted to know what his actions meant. Does he hate me that much?

  • Recovering lost data and photos?

I have this software that's recovering all my lost data after reformatting my pc to factory settings the other day. All the pictures it's finding don't have the dates for them anymore. Is that normal after recovering them (losing all info about your file)?

  • Hey pro photographers!! Any suggestions on a good DSLR+Lens?

I'm pretty sure something like this has been asked many many times but here goes...

I'm interested in buying a DSLR!! I've been using a point and shoot for 7 years since I was in mid high school and now I'm ready to go big! Kinda. I'm just tired of my camera and I want something more than boring point and shoot.

I wouldn't say I'm a beginner but I'm no pro at photography or knowing too much about how slr's work but I don't want to use just the basic settings but nothing too difficult to learn. I'd like as much info, advice, suggestions on camera and lenses i should get because I'd really like my camera to last me a long while. Maybe not enough to last me my lifetime but good enough to last me til I'm able to afford a really good quality one when I deserve it. It may be a while.. but.. yeah whatever.

I take photos as a hobby and family and friend outings, and I guess..it is my creative outlet. I'd like my photos to come to life.

I've read that camera kits, although they may be budget friendly, are just average or aren't always the best ...so I want BETTER than that. I'm hoping someone can suggest some good camera bodies and lenses.

Hopefully the info i provide will be helpful. If not, please let me know what other info would help you help me to know what kind of camera and lens I should get!!

    + first off, I'm on a $1000 budget.

+ I know that lenses are what makes the camera.. or at least it's one of the most important parts..right? I don't know. But I'd like at least one or two lenses that can do it all.

+8 mega pixels minimum. Or maybe 10. I don't know. No need for the crazy 20 mega pixels. I don't plan on blowing up my images. Maybe here and there I would. But just good enough for clarity, regular sized prints, editing and maybe adding as a background to a web page.

+ A camera capable of taking steady shots/action photos. It's not super important and it doesn't have to make the photo look extremely clear..

+The camera or lenses do not have to be the newest kinds out (they're prob outta my budget anyways). At least the best that's still good to use that's been out within the last 3-5 years and would be affordable

+I'd like to take photos in natural light- outdoor lighting, low light, indoor lighting, the occasional night time photos, basically just minimizing the use for flash. I'm tired of the ugly effect flash gives to my photos when I have not enough light =(

+Photos for close ups, portraits and scenery

+I'd like to experiment with exposures.

+if available, one that could capture video w sound! that would be pretty cool. But not extremely important.

    +Preferably light weight.

+zoom? I guess a standard zoom would be good. Or one that will go farther than the standard? I don't think I'll need to super zoom in on something but maybe once in a while.

..i can't think of anything else. So that's it. Again, please let me know if more info should be provided. I know lenses are expensive so I'd pretty much just like to know of 1 or 2 lenses that would work well with me.

In advance, a big thanks to you for helping me out =)

  • Anyone know of a blue/black hair dye that doesn't fade out so quick?

I used Bright Black by L'Oreal Feria and it was nice until after the 2nd time I washed my hair. All the blue washed out and now my hair just kinda looks natural black.

Are there any dyes that actually stay blue/black for a while? Or any tips/tricks on how to keep it blue/black?

  • Still need an antenna with DTV?

I currently don't have cable right now and am using a non dtv tv...

    so i use an antenna.

When i get the converter box, do i still need to use an antenna?

And if i do, do i have to buy a new kind of antenna? I have the "rabbit ears" kind [i think that's what they're called] where you can make the metal longer.

  • Having to restart my computer to make things work...?

So yeah, like the title says...

I've been having to restart my computer every once in a while when there's something wrong with one of the programs.

    ex:

    Internet audio doesn't work

Files not being detected when i'm looking for some of them

....and some other things that i can't even remember.

i'm not sure how long this has been happening. maybe a few months. i probably have to restart my pc like 3-4 times a week. i never shut my computer off but rather..have it on hibernate. [i dunno if that's any useful info].

is there a reason for this?

my computer has been getting a little slow lately too.

i know i have lots of files on my pc.. most of the space being taken up by tons of pictures and music.

i'm pretty sure it's because of all my files.

    is there another reason?
