  • What are the pro's and cons of a cedar deck versus a composite or pressure treated deck?

We are contractor shopping for a deck. We've gotten some very different information from some contractors and what we've seen online. One contractor says that cedar is a great, low-maintenance option. Another said he hardly uses cedar anymore, that it tends to rot out, and pushed composite, or composite surfaced decking.

I thought the 2nd guy was just trying to upsell us on composite, but he also said he preferred pressure treated over cedar. This really had me a bit confused.

So does anyone have experience with cedar deck versus pressure treated, and is an upgrade to composite or vinyl worth the cost? We want to keep our costs reasonable, which is why we shied away from composite in the first place, but this contractor has me questioning that stance now.

  • For what conditions might a doctor prescribe an IUD.?

I'm curious about birth control being used to treat conditions outside just preventing pregnancy. I know that the drugs are often used to treat various hormonal issues in women, but are there conditions that warrant the use of an IUD, other than strictly birth control?

  • What Bourbon should I try?

I am an avid Scotch drinker, and have a good taste for picking out flavors and characteristics that I appreciate in single malts (for the record, Lagavulin is heavenly).

About a year ago, I toured the Wild Turkey distillery, and that got me curious about Bourbon. It seems to have some similar qualities to Scotch, in that there are a great deal of flavors hidden within a "good" brand. In particular, I thought Basil Hayden was probably the best non-Scotch whiskey I'd ever tried.

So I'm curious, besides Jim Beam, Basil Hayden, and Wild Turkey, what can some Bourbon aficionados recommend?
